The Halcyon Call is an inverted isekai fantasy centered around the meticulous and jaded Kobold scout Scaleen Fortuna. They've been stuck doing desk duty as a city guard member for three years when a young Human - who claims to know the future - lands in a prison cell for tresspassing in the Imperial Palace. What the human describes is impossible, but the immediate consequences for Scaleen and their entire race in Sumar Empire are too dire to ignore. Scaleen may not like babysitting a traumatized young outsider, but if the two don’t learn to combine their cynical cultural acumen and extensive, if recreational, fandom knowledge then the world may very well succumb to a mass extinction as has been played out millions of times before. Can you hear The Halcyon Call?
