After another fascinating lesson done by Iruka, Sasuke found himself outside for another interval.
This time, however, he was with Naruto, who decided to hang out with him. Despite Naruto's glee for having a friend, Sasuke was happier than Naruto by a long shot.
During Sasuke's first break, he had never felt more stupid in his life. Sasuke was forced to stand, looking like an idiot for an hour, as he was never used to this, despite his familiarity with watching the anime.
Now, Sasuke was grateful that he could hang out with Naruto, and he liked the spot where they chilled.
It was near the swing, or close to it, as Naruto chose to sit on the swing while Sasuke picked the ground.
"Hey Sasuke, I never told you about how I got my forehead protector, did I?" Naruto started, pointing at the said thing which covered his forehead.
"No, I don't believe so," Sasuke shook his head, knowing full well what happened, "you may tell me, I want to know,"
"First make sure not to tell anyone," Naruto whispered, "it is kind of a secret,"
"I promise," Sasuke replied.
"Alright," Naruto said, before continuing, "I was able to get this with a Secret technique,"
"Woah, really?" Sasuke said, trying his best to sound surprised.
Naruto nodded with a grin, "Your jaw will be dropped after seeing the jutsu I learnt,"
While saying that, he put his hands into a hand sign, which Sasuke saw and knew what it was.
'That hand sign, better use the Sharingan,' Sasuke thought, feeling it activate.
"Shadow Clone Jutsu!" Naruto yelled, making two shadow clones appear, each next to him.
"Pretty cool ri- what happened to your eyes?" Naruto said, his eyes turning into white circles and his hand pointing towards Sasuke.
"This is my Sharingan," he explained, pointing toward his eyes, "It's part of what my clan has,"
"Cool!" Naruto said, observing Sasuke's eyes, "How about we spar?"
"Spar?" Sasuke asked, "Right now?"
"Yes!" Naruto replied almost instantly, "After you showed me that thing in your eye, I want to have a battle with you,"
"Wa-Wait," Sasuke said, starting to panic, "I can't right now, I'm not prepared,"
Naruto and his two shadow clones got into an attacking position, "Always expect the unexpected, here I come!"
Before Naruto could release his attack on a frightened Sasuke, a grumbling sound was heard and Naruto stopped and grabbed his stomach while looking down.
"Naruto, you alright?" Sasuke asked, getting out of his scared phase.
"Ugh," Naruto groaned, making the shadow clones disappear, "My stomach... I need to go,"
'I am guessing it's a number two,' Sasuke thought, 'phew, must have been my plot armour,'
"Don't you dare move Sasuke," Naruto warned, still clutching his stomach, "I'll be back,"
That act, however, broke instantly as Naruto sped away, leaving a big dust cloud behind him.
'Now that I have to wait on the Narutonator,' Sasuke thought, switching off his Sharingan and looking around, 'I have to stand like an idiot,'
'At least I won't get interrupted every second... wait I'm exaggerating... every five minutes by fangirls,' He thought, 'wait, has it not been five minutes already?'
"Hey, Sasuke," This caused him to jump out of fright and turn around to see Ino nearly burst out in laughter.
'I should focus on my surroundings more,' Sasuke thought, looking at Ino.
"Please do not do that again," He said.
"I will do that more often now," Ino said, now laughing a bit, "to think I would scare the monotone Uchiha,"
"Is that what you came to me for? To scare me?" Sasuke asked,
"Nope," She replied, "The reason I am here is to tell you that we are friends now," Ino looked as if to proclaim that.
'What?' Sasuke thought, having a blank mind, 'I did not expect that, despite knowing that I am changing the timeline,'
"Okay, I guess?" Sasuke said, "Why are you acting like it's something big?"
"Since you are out of your quiet and cold phase," Ino stated, "it seemed like something to celebrate,"
Sasuke replied with a nod, and Ino continued.
"So what are you doing here?" She asked.
"I am waiting on Naruto, who is in the bathroom," Sasuke replied.
"That's pretty fitting, isn't it?"
Sasuke raised an eyebrow, "What?"
"You and Naruto becoming friends," Ino answered, "I've heard that both of you are pretty much alone, so the two of you being friends just works,"
"I see," Sasuke said, "You are correct with that,"
"I know I am," Ino said with a smile, "I do hope I can catch you with Naruto, so then I can be friends with him as well,"
"He will be happy to experience that," Sasuke said.
"However, I have to go now," Ino said, "I do have friends of my own,"
"Alright," Sasuke replied.
"And make sure not to ignore me if we walk past each other," She said.
"Well, I may not be able to help that if I am walking," Sasuke said.
"Well do help it," Ino shouted, having a red vein appear on her head, "If you don't, I will give you a scare that will make you have nightmares,"
This made Sasuke gulp in fear, "Okay, see you,"
"Bye," Ino replied, walking away, leaving a pondering Sasuke.
It was surprising for him for Ino to speak to him, and even more surprising for her to say that they are friends, maybe Sasuke assumed too much?
'At least I did not blush like I did yesterday,' Sasuke thought, sitting on the swing, 'but that reminds me, all those fangirls that disturbed me yesterday, were they even there to obsess over me?'
Sasuke concluded that maybe they were trying to make friends with him, perhaps some were not even girls, but he was not paying attention at the time, and ignored them.
'Oh well,' Sasuke thought, 'I must start slow,'
While looking around, Sasuke saw a recognizable character running back toward him.
'It's about time,' Sasuke thought.
---
Walking through a street of Konoha, at a slow pace, was Sasuke, who seemed to be looking for something.
'How could I have known that Naruto would run into me?' he thought, feeling a muscle ache, causing him to groan, 'Now I can't walk fast, but I need to walk slowly anyway,'
By walking slowly, Sasuke was able to take in the buildings around him, which despite their different purposes, mixed well together like a puzzle piece to a puzzle.
'I wonder if there is a tool shop nearby,' Sasuke thought, walking on, 'these weapon shops should sell swords, hopefully,'
Conveniently, after a few minutes of searching, Sasuke would find a weapons shop and stand at the entrance.
'How funny,' Sasuke thought as he walked in, 'While Naruto possesses the Talk no Jutsu, I have something that I will call the Convenient no Jutsu,'
Seeing the inside, it was what you would expect.
Several weapons, mostly swords, hung on the walls of the shop, with some other things being showcased on the counter. The swords that Sasuke noticed were coated with the words 'artistic' and kept him with interest.
Sasuke's eyes would fall on a person who stood at the counter.
The person wore a white shirt with an apron draped over it, Sasuke could even see a part of the brown pants he was wearing.
What caught his attention, was the guy's face.
If the guy could be described in one sentence, it would be 'a copy of Kakashi'. The only difference was his hair, despite being dark red, faced the other way. His right eye was covered with a type of bandage and his face lacked a mask. The guy's attention was on a book that he held in his hand.
Sasuke decided to walk up to the counter, to which the guy raised his left eye from the book to meet his gaze.
"Welcome," He said. Sasuke could tell the guy tried to sound welcoming but failed in every aspect of it.
"Hi," Sasuke responded, "I'm just looking to buy a sword,"
"Oh," The guy responded, sounding more interested, "Take a look around, I won't stop you,"
And that's what Sasuke did.
After speaking with the guy at the counter, he walked to and fro through the isles, looking at the different swords. The swords came in different shapes, and sizes, and lived up to the artistic name that Sasuke gave them before.
Though, Sasuke could not find the sword he wanted.
'Oh well,' he thought, shrugging, 'What did I expect,'
He turned around to walk back to the counter and stopped in his tracks.
On the wall, behind the guy, who was back to reading his book, was a sword.
A sword too familiar.
You are reading story The Tale Of Broken Neck Sasuke at novel35.com
Hanging vertically, it bore a lot of similarities with the dragonslayer, except for the length.
'That's surprising,' Sasuke thought, staring at the sword, 'Not only is there a mere copy of a canon character, but also a close copy of a weapon from a manga, and I am not gonna complain,'
"Found any sword that suits you?" The guy asked when Sasuke returned to the counter, raising an eyebrow.
"That sword behind you looks interesting," Sasuke replied, causing the guy to turn around and having his eye widen at the sword.
"Oh, this?" He asked, sounding disappointed, "Sorry, it is your choice,"
"How much is it?" Sasuke asked as the sword was placed on the counter.
"8000 Ryō," he responded, rather sternly.
'It's a good thing I brought out money,' Sasuke thought, taking out the money wrapped in a bundle and placing it next to the sword.
"I don't know how much that is, but it should be enough," he said, getting a wide eye from the guy.
"Thanks," The guy replied, slipping out a note from the bundle and pushing it back to Sasuke, "I have your refund here if you want to return it,"
There was a narrowed look from Sasuke, "Why would I return it?"
"Let's just say, customers always return that sword after a while," The guy said, making Sasuke confused, "I think the shortest one was a week,"
"I see," Sasuke replied, taking the sword and lifting it, feeling surprised at how light it was, "Well I will make sure to put it to good use,"
"What is your name?" The guy asked, "in case you do want your refund,"
"Sasuke Uchiha," Sasuke replied, taking the bundle of money still on the table and placing it in his bag, "could you tell me your name so I know who to find?"
"Kenji, Kenji Kanjiro," Kenji said, placing a scroll on the counter and rolling it open, "place the sword on the scroll,"
Sasuke complied and Kenji did a hand sign, which made the sword disappear into the scroll.
"Sadly I do not have a sheath for that sword," he said, rolling up the scroll, "so you can seal it in this scroll as a way to carry it around,"
"Thank you," Sasuke said, taking the scroll and walking to the entrance,
"Thank you for your business!" Kenji shouted as Sasuke left the shop's entrance to the outside.
As he went back to his book, Kenji could not help but chuckle.
'How long should I give that kid?' He thought to himself, skimming the lines within the page, 'I will give him a week,'
Kenji sighed in relief as he found where he stopped in the book.
Outside, however, Sasuke was already walking back home with the scroll in hand.
'I can't believe it!' He thought, nearly jumping with glee, but stopping himself, 'I can now wield this cool sword, but I may need to see how to unseal the scroll,'
Once he was back on the Estate, he remembered something.
Going into the house he slept in, his memory brought him to another room. This room was one of the few he saw while he looked around the house the first time, and now he could take a closer look.
What caught Sasuke's attention was the massive collection of scrolls and books on one side of the room and the names listed on top of them.
His eyes went to a compartment called 'Fūinjutsu' written on the top.
'Maybe this will help me,' Sasuke thought, taking out a scroll and opening it, 'I should come here to read the others more,'
With that, Sasuke took the scroll with the sword in it and rolled it open on the floor.
After reading the scroll, he put his hands into a hand sign and focused.
'Sealing Jutsu: Release!' Sasuke thought, but nothing happened.
'Let me try that again,' he thought as he concentrated once more, but also tried to add in chakra in any way.
Soon, Sasuke felt his chakra flowing and thought once more, 'Sealing Jutsu: Release!'
This time, the sword appeared on top of the scroll, and Sasuke shoved his fists up in triumph.
"Let me swing this thing around," Sasuke said, picking up the sword once more and being filled up with joy.
In no time, he was outside, swinging the black and white sword like trying to catch a fly with a fly swatter.
'It may be the same size as a regular sword and be lightweight,' Sasuke thought, swinging it downwards, making it slam into the ground, 'but it has the width and looks to back it up,'
After training with it for a while, and becoming sore from it, Sasuke decided to do something else.
'Let me try out that shadow clone jutsu I copied from Naruto,' Sasuke thought, putting his hand into the clone seal and focusing.
Looking at his hands, he stopped and contemplated something.
'Can't I use other hand signs to summon these clones?' He thought, 'then it may give me a chance to surprise the enemy,'
With that, he started.
'Hare.' He thought, but nothing happened.
'Bird.' again, nothing happened.
'Dragon.'
'Boar.'
'Rat.'
'Tiger.' With this hand sign, a clone finally appeared.
"Oh," Sasuke said, "I suppose I found the hand sign,"
"Took you long enough," The shadow clone said, folding its arms.
"Sorry," Sasuke replied, "You might as well help me with learning to attach a chakra thread to a kunai,"
"Fair enough," It responded, taking out a kunai, "but remember, having me out for too long may kill you if you're not careful,"
Sasuke nodded as he took out one of his kunai from his tool bag.
"How do you do this again?" Sasuke asked his clone.
"Knowing what you did before, I assume you focus and concentrate your chakra," The clone said, doing just that.
Sasuke did the same by trying to concentrate on his hands, specifically his fingertips and the kunai he was holding.
After a while, Sasuke could feel his chakra was holding onto something. He looked down at the kunai In his hand and found it had a blue thread and clung itself to the end of it.
"So now we can test it," Sasuke said, walking to a nearby target. The clone did the same.
Aiming at the target, Sasuke threw his kunai and watched as the thread unravelled like a yoyo before it slapped into its mark.
"Now we yank it back into our hands," Sasuke said as he jerked the kunai out of the target and prepared to catch it.
That did not happen, as the kunai collided with his hand and fell to the floor.
"At least it did not stab me," Sasuke said, holding his hand in pain.
"I will do so much better than you," The clone said, making Sasuke stare blankly at it.
"Then do it," Sasuke replied, getting a smirk from the shadow clone.
With a lot more force, It pulled the kunai out in the same way but kept eye contact with Sasuke to look cool. It only raised its hand to align it with the kunai.
However, the clone only wished that would happen. It did not expect to completely miss the alignment.
Sasuke did not expect the kunai to fly right into the shadow clone's forehead.
He could only stand in shock as the clone dropped to the ground and disappeared. Sasuke's eyes darkened at the things that flashed through his mind at that point.
'These feelings,' he thought, putting a hand to his head, 'the sharpness of the kunai, the puncture of my forehead, the tiredness that was felt, I am glad that I did not do that,'
After recovering from that incident, Sasuke threw the kunai again, but this time activating his Sharingan.
'Hope this does not kill me,' He thought as he pulled back on the thread, letting the kunai launch back towards him.
This time though, Sasuke's Sharingan was able to predict the kunai and he caught it with ease.
'This skill will be really useful, and is sort of op,' Sasuke thought as he placed the kunai into his tool pouch, 'but I can train with that tomorrow, I want to train with the sword,'
'But first,' He thought while putting his hands together, 'Horse, Serpent, Ram, Monkey, Boar, Horse, Tiger,'
After doing those hand signs, Sasuke spat out a fireball into the sky.
'Must not forget to train with some jutsus,' Sasuke thought, walking to get the sword.
As he picked it up, Sasuke began to swing it around, but not as much as earlier, since he was sore from both swinging it and from the bashing of Naruto's speed.
For a while, he was enjoying himself, but as with all things you enjoy, time flew by, and soon the sun was setting.
"Damn," Sasuke said, walking into the house with the sword, "Why is it that when you do something you enjoy, time flies quickly?"
After changing into the house slippers, Sasuke placed the sword on a chair, and he went off to eat porridge.
'What a fascinating day today,' he thought, taking a bite of cereal, 'I do wonder what I changed when I went to go buy that sword,'
'Well, only time will tell,' Sasuke thought, as he began to chomp down on some more cereal.
