Chapter 19: Lu Chen’s Diary
“Chop-chop. You’ll take care of those at eight o’clock. Protect me!”
“Alright. I don’t have any bullets left. Can you pass me some?”
“Damn it. How did you use up your bullets so soon? Come here. I’ll share my bullets with you.”
Gunshots could be heard from the loudspeakers in the dark room. Two men were seated on the ground as they stared fixedly at the computer screen. With PSN controllers in their hands, they continued communicating with each other on the tactics they should use.
The game they were playing was ‘Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare’.
In fact, it was Finger who invited Lu Chen to play the game. Lu Chen had never expected that there was such a fun game in this world. With only one controller in his hands, he was able to control the character in the game. The battlefields were true to life, and he felt thrilled when opening fires to kill his enemies.
Earlier, Finger logged on to the game and swayed the controller in his hand before asking Lu Chen whether he wanted to join him. Out of curiosity, Lu Chen nodded in hesitation, and he couldn’t stop playing it anymore.
His initial plan was that he would stay in the dorm to practice martial arts before the 3E test in order to avoid meeting other people. Otherwise, he would be surrounded by countless representatives from the many clubs as soon as he stepped out of his room. However, the situation completely changed after Finger taught him to play a video game.
In the past, he had a habit of writing his own diary during wars whenever he was safe because he knew that he might lose his life at any moment, so he wanted to leave something behind to prove his existence.
Since coming to this world, he would still jot down his daily activities in a diary. Initially, the diary went like this:
6 Sept: I killed a mad mixed race human, and then a bunch of strange people wanted me to go to their college.
7 Sept: Practiced martial arts and learned new things.
8 Sept: Smartphones are interesting. We should never underestimate the power of science.
9 Sept: Received the documents from the college. Ready to go.
10 Sept: First time on a plane. It was exciting.
11 Sept: Lutecia treated me to lunch. The guidance I received on my first day of college was eye-opening. My roommate is sloppy.
12 Sept: Finger is indeed in his seventh year of college. He knows a lot.
13 Sept: I broke the record of the physical test. Made new friends. The leader of the student union, Caesar, seems like a fun guy.
It went downhill from now on.
14 Sept: Finger introduced me to a video game. It’s fun and magical.
15 Sept: Too many people were waiting for me outside the dorm. I’d rather play a video game inside my room.
16 Sept: It’s raining outside the dorm, and I have no money to buy an umbrella. I should just play a video game.
17 Sept: Chu Zihang asked me to play basketball with him, but I didn’t know how to play, so I rejected him. Then, I decided to play a video game.
18 Sept: Many crazy people are racing motorcycles out there. I should just play a video game.
19 Sept: Played a video game.
…
If Huang Tao, who was carrying out a mission in South Africa, saw what Lu Chen had been doing, he would feel that his worry wasn’t unfounded. Perhaps he would even make a call to Lu Chen to persuade him to quit the video game immediately and focus on his studies. Otherwise, he would spend the rest of his four years inside his dorm.

Unfortunately, Huang Tao wouldn’t know that Lu Chen was addicted to playing ‘Call of Duty’ with Finger. With superb reflexes, Lu Chen began showcasing his incredible talent after he mastered the game.
Even during hell mode, he was still able to shoot at his enemies accurately without an iron sight. Finger couldn’t help praising Lu Chen that as a Grade S human, he was talented in everything, including playing a video game.
“Phew.” Lu Chen and Finger let out a breath as they watched the ending animation. Both of them were gratified as they had just accomplished the hell mode.
Suddenly thinking of something, Finger said, “By the way, the 3E test will be tomorrow.”
“What?” Lu Chen was startled for a moment before taking a look at the time on his phone—4:36AM. Oh, no! The test is actually today!
“Lu Chen, do you want to sleep for a bit now?” Finger came to the realization that as Lu Chen’s senior, he shouldn’t have asked him to play a video game with him for the entire night one day before the exam.
“No. I’ll just take a shower and meditate for a bit.”
The 3E test would be held at 10.00AM, so he could sleep for about four hours, but it wasn’t necessary. He had exceptional stamina, so he only needed to sleep for three hours every night. Therefore, playing a video game overnight wouldn’t affect him much. Furthermore, meditation could also help restore his energy and make his mind sharp again.
Finger watched Lu Chen, who was meditating on the bed, and thought the latter really looked like a martial arts master from a Chinese movie. Then, he also washed up and went to bed, as he was exhausted.

There were about forty new students sitting inside the exquisitely designed hall. All of them appeared to be solemn, as though they were about to go to war. In fact, the 3E test was just like a battle for the new students, as their grades would be assessed in this test.
Some of the new students appeared to be absolutely confident as they had never doubted their blood lineage. Meanwhile, Lu Chen appeared to be calm as well. Although he didn’t have dragon blood, he wasn’t anxious at all.
Chu Zihang would take the test with Lu Chen on this day, but it wasn’t a coincidence. Students with different expected grades would be tested separately. All of them in this hall were expected to be Grade A and Grade B. Nevertheless, there were only more than ten Grade A new students for this year.
“I’m your invigilator today, Guderian. The test will start on time.” Then, he told other staff members to distribute white papers and pencils to the students. Although he was the invigilator, he would leave the hall when the exam started.
Lu Chen wasn’t surprised that the paper was blank, as he had heard from Finger that they had to draw the answer on a piece of paper.
On the other hand, Chu Zihang and the other new students appeared to be doubtful. Seeing that, Guderian said, “You’ll understand it when the exam starts.” All of them fell silent upon hearing that.
Following that, Guderian and other staff members left the hall and closed the door. Lu Chen could also hear that the door was locked.
Not only is the invigilator not around, but they’ve also locked the door. Why must they do that? Will there be danger in this exam hall?
As soon as the jazz music sounded, Lu Chen realized that the atmosphere in the room changed. Those students, who were still quiet a moment ago, became agitated as their golden irises shone brightly, which were dazzling even in broad daylight.
Chu Zihang seemed to have gone mad as he rose from the chair with something in his hands and started wielding it. The girl in front of Lu Chen leaped onto the table as she readied herself and started performing ballet.
The other students were wailing, singing and growling. At that instant, everyone in the hall seemed to be out of their mind except Lu Chen, who was left baffled.
