“Are you alright?”
Haccid lifted his eyes at the question. Although he was groaning in pain a second ago, now he seemed fine.
“Soo Hyuk?”
“Yes, it is me.”
“How are you here…?”
“I came to rescue you.”
“I see…”
Haccid said and then let out a deep sigh.
“Thank you.”
Was it because he calmed down after the sight? Or was it the effects of “Heal”? Haccid’s voice became more vigorous.
“No problem. Can you stand up?”
“The chains…”
The reply faded out towards the end, and Haccid lowered his gaze. Soo Hyuk followed Haccid’s gaze and saw chains binding Haccid’s legs.
“Oh, it hasn’t come off yet.”
In the drop window that appeared after Soo Hyuk killed the three men, an entry was called “a key for the chains.” Soo Hyuk pressed confirm and received the drops and took out the key to free Haccid.
“Hold on a second.”
The chains fell off a few seconds later.
Was it because Haccid was chained for too long? Soo Hyuk cast two more heals on Haccid, but Haccid still couldn’t move his legs naturally.
“Heal.”
Soo Hyuk cast Heal once more.
A white glow covered Haccid’s body once again, and Haccid made a relaxed expression. After the light disappeared, Haccid stood up and moved around to check his body.
“I think I’d be able to move around by myself now.”
‘The effects of Heal seem to be better than I thought.’
In the users’ perspective, Heal only recovers health, but it has a much more significant effect on NPCs.
“Let’s go.”
Soo Hyuk brought Haccid out of the prison chamber and went back to the first floor.
Soo Hyuk checked around the mansion before he left, and once he left the main door, a notification popped up.
[Quest ‘Kidnapped Haccid’ has been completed.]
‘I wonder what the rewards will be.’
The rewards for this quest were question marks.
‘Since it doesn’t seem to be automatically given, I probably need to receive it from someone.’
That was the only notification, so it was not a quest that was rewarded automatically. That means Soo Hyuk had to receive the reward directly from Haccid.
Soo Hyuk turned around to check Haccid. Although he was walking fine, he seemed to be struggling a bit.
Looking at Haccid’s condition, Soo Hyuk did not expect to receive the reward right now, and he felt perplexed to bring up the topic.
“Excuse me, Soo Hyuk.”
“Yes?”
“May I ask where we are headed?”
Soo Hyuk replied Haccid’s question with a smile,
“To where Romian is.”
***
Ross, who warped back to Parville Merchants’ Corps, stood still after arrival. He just stood there looking ahead.
‘This is impossible.’
The Red Wolves were assaulted, and a magician named Garrett was involved, but Ross didn’t expect Garrett to have done that all by himself. A squad of red wolves couldn’t be beaten by one magician. That’s why he led Garrett to the prison; to capture him.
But Garret turned out to be much stronger than he anticipated. His casting speed and magical power were on a completely different level than the magicians he knew.
“Garrett…”
Ross mumbled Garrett’s name, and once he regained his composure, he walked out of the magic circle.
Ross headed straight towards Raiden’s room. Raiden was the head of the family leading Parville Merchants’ Corps and also the boss of the corps.
“Commander, is that you?”
On his way to Raiden’s room, Ross met a man with a giant figure.
“Vice Commander.”
Ross was talking to the vice commander of the red wolves, Kerom.
Kerom checked his surroundings to see whether anyone was present, and then asked,
“Have you already finished what you left to do?”
Kerom also didn’t know what Ross left to do exactly, but he knew it wasn’t for training.
Ross didn’t reply to Kerom’s question, What could he say in this situation? Instead, he let out a wry smile.
“…?”
Kerom made a perplexed expression after seeing Ross’ smile.
“Gather the members in the corps for me… All of them.”
“Excuse me? Everyone?”
Ross nodded his head.
“I have something important to say.”
Although he had others to tell what happened, he had to tell the remaining red wolves first.
“I understand.”
Ross passed Kerom and continued his way to Raiden’s room.
After a few steps, Ross arrived in front of Raiden’s room and stopped.
“Master!”
In front of the door stood the chief butler, Casillas. Seeing him there, Ross knew Raiden was inside the room.
“Did you finish your training already?” asked Casillas.
“I’ve come to see my older brother…”
Ross couldn’t reply to Casillas’ question. Training wasn’t their main goal. Even if it wasn’t, if he had achieved his original goal, he would have answered right away, but he failed utterly.
“Hmm…”
The chief butler wasn’t a position anyone could get. Noticing that Ross avoided answering his question, Casillas realized something undesirable has happened.
“I’m sorry, but there is a guest in the room at the moment.”

“A guest?”
Casillas blocked Ross, who was trying to head in.
“Yes. They are discussing an important matter. Master has ordered me to prevent anyone from entering. Anyone, no matter what reason.”
“Who the hell came…”
Ross frowned as he mumbled. He was wondering who came for Raiden to order that.
“Can you tell me who it is?”
“I am sorry.”
Casillas shook his head.
‘It seems the guest is really someone important.’
Ross had a higher identity than Parville Merchants’ Corps’ armed group’s commander; It was the brother of Raiden, the Merchants’ Corp’s boss.
Ross had a high position with the identities of the commander and the brother of the boss. But even yet, Casillas did not tell him who came, so it had to be a really important person.
‘I wonder who it is.’
Ross was even more curious. What kind of guest did it have to be?
“It was also my first time I’ve met this person.”
Ross was surprised at Casillas’ words.
“Even you, the chief butler, has never seen the person?”
The guest was someone even Ross couldn’t go in and disturb. Ross thought the chief butler should know someone important as that.
“Yes, that is so.”
Casillas nodded.
Ross was lost for words. He kept his mouth shut and thought while staring at the door.
‘For real, though, who is it?’
Since Casillas doesn’t know, the guest isn’t a royalty or noble. It wasn’t possible for Casillas to not know a royalty or noble.
“Are you planning to wait here?” Casillas asked Ross.
“Yes, I have an urgent matter.”
Ross nodded. He was planning to wait, and above all, he was curious to know who would come out of the room.
A few moments later, the door opened.
Ross saw a man coming out of the door while wondering who would the important guest be and what they would be talking about.
“…”
But the person who came out was someone he knew.
“Brother?”
It was Raiden.
“Ross?”
Raiden was surprised to see Ross.
“What are you here for? Are you already done with your work?”
“About that…”
“Hmm, come inside. We will continue the talk inside.”
Through Ross’s response, Raiden roughly grasped what happened and headed back inside with Ross following in.
‘What?’
After getting inside, Ross scanned the room and was surprised to see no one there.
‘Why is no one in here?’
Raiden came out of the door, which means the guest hasn’t left yet. Thus, the guest should still be in the room, but no one else was in the room.
‘There should be someone in here…’
Casillas said there was a guest in the room, and there was no chance that Casillas made a mistake.
“Brother.”
Ross sat at the opposite side of Raiden and asked.
“I heard you had a guest.”
“… You’ve heard from the chief butler, haven’t you?”
“Yes.”
“You will know one day. For now, keep your curiosity in place.”
Hearing this, Ross decided to let it go. If Ross continued to show his interest in the guest, Raiden would have told him, but that would bother Raiden. He wasn’t curious to the point to bother Raiden just to figure out who it was.
“Okay, sure.”
Ross answered and immediately let go of his curiosity. Hearing Ross’ answer, Raiden made a satisfied smile and said
“Alright then, let’s talk. What happened, and why did you come back so early?”
Raiden was also one of the people who knew Ross’s real goal. No matter how secretly Ross wanted to move, he couldn’t keep it a secret to Raiden.
Raiden was the absolute authority of Parville Merchants’ Corps. Ross didn’t want to be misunderstood by the highest authority in the corps.
“I’ve failed,” said Ross with a depressed face.
“I’ve lost all the red wolves I brought with me.”
“What?”
Raiden was surprised by Ross’s words. Even though he only took new recruits, how could he lose them all?
“What in the world happened?”
“There was a guy, no, it was a group of people who were after the treasures.”
Ross thought about Garrett. Garrett was strong for sure, but he didn’t think Garrett was strong enough to defeat all of the red wolves. So he assumed Garrett had others with him.
“Well, that’s normal. They are the treasures of the great thief Kelta.” Raiden nodded his head to show it was understandable.
“And do you know where this group belongs to?”
“For now, I only know there was a magician named Garrett.”
“Garrett?”
“Yes, I’ve sent Carten, so more information will come shortly.”
