"Has he still not shown up yet?"
"...No father. Brother seems to still be in his room."
Things seemed to be tense in the Evenus household as three figures sat and conversed around a large table covered by a white cloth, and silverware that glinted under the glistering chandelier that lit up the room.
"Has anyone called for him?"
"We have but he has still not shown up."
In this unusual atmosphere, the servants and maids stood with their backs straight without saying a word.
They didn't dare utter a word, afraid of the impending consequences.
"Father, I think there is something wrong with brother."
"How so?"
"...He hasn't gone out of the mansion for a whole week. This is unusual of him."
"I guess you have a point."
Overhearing their conversations, the servants looked at each other.
With just a glance, they all shared the same thought.
'They must be talking about him.'
That 'him' they were thinking about was the first son of the Evanus Barony, Ivan D. Evenus, famously known by the maids and servants as a cruel, serious, perfectionist.
Just his name alone terrified the maids to no end as he was infamous for his short fuse.
It was at that moment.
"Lynus, go and get your brother."
"...Must I?"
"You must. It's an order."
"What if he refuses?"
"Then tell him that the academy starts tomorrow. Tell him to be prepared."
"Understood."
Creak.
The sound of the chair scraping against the floor could be heard clearly as one of the people on the table stood up.
"Second master."
"Second master."
The maids quickly rushed to tend to the individual who had just stood up. Short brown hair, chiseled jaw, and deep green eyes.
The moment the maids laid eyes on the individual, they tried their best to hide the blush on their faces.
'So handsome.'
They all thought at the same time.
"No need."
Raising his hand, the individual referred to as the second master stopped the maids from approaching him.
Fixing his clothes, which were rather simple, yet carried an elegant feeling, Lynus, the second master son of the Evenus house headed out of the dining room.
As he approached the door, one of the butlers opened the door for him, and he stepped out.

"Why must I be the one who gets him?"
Gnashing his teeth, Lynus walked through the corridor of the large mansion.
"Greetings second master."
"Good evening second master."
Along the way, he would be greeted by the maids and servants of the mansion. He would reply to them with a simple yet gentle smile, increasing his favorability amongst them.
Something that his brother didn't even bother to do as he simply treated everyone with disdain. Staff and family alike.
'I hate him.'
Lynus thought as he reached his brother's room.
Ever since young Lynus had tried getting along with his brother, but all of his efforts were in vain as not once did his brother look at him.
Rather, his actions only served to increase his brother's disdain toward him.
"Bastard..."
He softly muttered.
Nearing his brother's room, he noticed that the place was rather sparse. Compared to the other sides of the mansion which were filled with maids and butlers, his brother's side seemed a lot duller.
This didn't come as a surprise for Lynus as he knew just how much of a scum his brother was.
He would even throw away his childhood friend for the sake of more power.
"khh..."
Just the thought of that incident fueled Lynus's rage even more.
Clenching his teeth and fists, he climbed a flight of stairs before stopping in front of a large wooden door.
Knock. Knock.
Lynus knocked on the door.
He was met with no response. He tried again.
Knock. Knock.
Yet again he was met with no response.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
The knocks soon turned into straight-up banging as Lynus's fist came smacking against the door.
"Open up brother! I know that you're in there!"
He was still met with no response. Unable to bear it anymore, Lynus decided to force his way in.
Bang!
Kicking the door at full force, the door burst apart.
"I warned you beforehand!"
Coming into the room, Lynus scanned the place before his eyes paused in a certain direction, where a handsome individual sat. In front of him sat a large book.
Under the room's chandelier light, his black hair shone neatly, his skin was white, and his eyes were deep green, like freshly polished gems.
Ivan D. Evenus.
The first son of the Evenus family.
Suppressing his boiling rage, Lynus called out.
"...Oy!"
As he spoke, he made sure to let his annoyance be felt. Regardless, he was still not met with any response.
"You—"
It was then that Ivan finally opened his mouth. Cutting Lynus off.
"Can you shut up?"
The moment those words left his mouth, Lynus's face froze. It took a while for him to process what he had heard, and when he did, his face dyed red in anger.
"What did you just say!?"
"I said shut up."
He was met with the same apathetic voice that seemed to be devoid of any sympathy.
Clenching his fist tightly, Lynus glared in Ivan's direction.
Feigning completely indifference toward Lynus's anger, Ivan once again opened his mouth.
"Why have you so rudely barged into my room?"
Had it not been for Lynus's great willpower, he would've already attacked Ivan by now.
Taking a deep breath, he calmed himself down.
'He's not worth it.'
Lifting his head to once again stare at his brother, he spoke.
"Father has asked you to—"
"Not interested."
Ivan quickly cut in as he turned his eyes remained on a book that was sitting in the middle of his desk.
Clenching his teeth, Lynus nodded his head.

"Understood, then I shall take my leave."
He then proceeded to turn around. However, just as he was about to leave, he recalled something.
"That's right brother, there is something I forgot to mention. The academy starts tomorrow, please be ready tomorrow morning."
Yet again he was met with no response.
'Screw him.'
No longer bothered with his brother, he left and closed the door behind him.
Clank—!

"...This is tougher than I thought."
I murmured as I leaned back on my chair.
It had been a week since I had found myself in this new world, and was I slowly starting to come to terms with the situation.
At first, I was very confused and lost.
But this was only natural.
Who in their right minds would be able to come to terms with the fact that they were inside of a whole new world, and in a different body at that?
...I wasn't that someone.
Anyhow, in the past week, aside from coming to terms with my current predicament, I spent all my time either observing the people around me or learning more about the world.
It was from there that I was able to learn that I was inside of the video game that my brother had told me to buy.
I came to this conclusion thanks to two clues.
Raising my hand, I waved it in the air.
A string of text appeared in my vision.

"A game-like interface..."
I murmured under my breath.
This was the first clue that I received with regard to my current situation.
Despite not being one that loved to play games, I wasn't clueless to the point of not knowing what levels and exp were.
That in itself was a big clue regarding my current predicament.
Lowering my head to glance at the book in front of me, and displayed on it was the image of a large infrastructure.
My eyes focused on two words.
"Kretneltz academy."
The second clue, and the name of the academy that was I supposed to attend tomorrow.
The same academy where the game was supposed to start.
"I really am in the game, huh?"
Knock! knock!
Jolting me out of my thoughts was a loud knocking sound.
"Yo..young master?"
A rather fearful voice echoed out from behind the door.
Hearing the voice, I silently sighed to myself before responding in a rather cold voice.
"Come in."
"Y..yes."
Entering the room, a young girl dressed in a maid outfit carefully opened the door as she peeked from behind it. Holding onto the side of the door, her legs shook.
For a brief moment, I almost burst out laughing. But I was able to keep my composure.
Other than accepting the situation and studying more about the world, during the past week I had also been studying and observing the reactions of the people toward me.
...Or the previous body of the owner.
From what I had gathered, he was a cold and merciless individual. Out of caution, I decided to act like him.
Knowing that this was a magic-filled world if the people of this house found out that my personality had suddenly shifted, there was a possibility of them becoming suspicious of the possibility of someone having taken over the body of the previous owner.
I still wasn't exactly sure about this, but I still decided to be cautious.
Therefore, turning to look at the maid, my eyes sharpened.
"What do you want?
"Ahi!"
The maid flinched as she fearfully looked at me. I was left at a loss for words at her reaction.
Regardless, I continued to keep a straight face.
"Hurry up."
"Yes..."
Like a scared rabbit, the maid quickly came into the room, walked up toward me, and handed me a pair of clothes.
"What's this?"
I asked as I grabbed the clothes.
"Your academy uniform."
"...Right."
I then proceeded to observe the clothes.
While the outfit was not elaborately designed, it still seemed to have a sense of elegance.
Among the outfit's components were a gold-striped vest, a white shirt, a bolo tie, and a black pant set.
'What interesting design.'
Catching one last glimpse of the outfit, I proceeded to throw them away. The maid flinched at my actions, but I ignored her and waved my hand.
"You may leave."
"Ye..yes..."
Bowing down, the main hurriedly trotted away from my room, closing the door behind her once she left.
Clank.
Silence once again returned to the room as she left.
"Haa.."
It was at this moment that I finally leaned back on my chair and let out a long tired sigh.
Covering my eyes with my hand, I bit my lips and mumbled under my breath.
"I'm definitely going back home. No matter what."
