Chapter 130: Newcomer

Ch101.2 – Newcomer

Yu Hao ordered Zhou Sheng and Fu Liqun time and time again to not make fun of him, but sometimes he really felt like he didn’t even have the energy to diss Li Yangming.

“It’s not right to smoke in the dorm.” Zhou Sheng said seriously, “I used to smoke here ‘cause Yu Hao and Fu Liqun tolerated me. If you don’t want to inhale second-hand smoke, then it’s a given that I’ll have to care about what you think.”

Li Yangming smiled, “You’re really great, love you.”

Yu Hao, “……”

Yu Hao turned his head slightly and scrutinised Li Yangming. Fu Liqun immediately said, “Um……Yu Hao? Come help me see how these shoes look.”

Zhou Sheng, “I don’t love you, take note of your safety.”

Li Yangming, “???”

Only then did Yu Hao’s anger get extinguished. No one spoke throughout the night. Zhou Sheng was looking for houses on his phone. Yu Hao looked up and knew that he was already looking for a house, so he didn’t say much. He thought of how he was isolated in his previous dorm, then looked at Li Yangming, and gradually began to experience a different kind of feeling.

Perhaps, he used to be that irritating ba. If it wasn’t for Zhou Sheng, Yu Hao felt like there wouldn’t be the him today at all.

He reached out to touch Zhou Sheng’s face. Zhou Sheng kissed his own finger, then stretched it out and gently pressed it against Yu Hao’s lips.

【I’ll definitely settle it for you within 3 days.】Zhou Sheng sent a message,【I’ll wait on Young Madam well, don’t worry. Good night.】

The next day, when Zhou Sheng went to class, Yu Hao became frantic as he faced a pile of books. It was winter now, and the first semester of their sophomore year was about to end. He didn’t study much in the first half of this semester; he had worked part-time for Xiao Yujun and dealt with Ou Qihang’s matters which cost him a lot of time, and if Zhou Sheng hadn’t tutored him in statistics, he would have failed it for sure.

He definitely couldn’t do the same for the next half of the semester. Yu Hao has always admired curve wreckers like Ou Qihang—— for a student who has good grades, his school wrote pleas of leniency for him, everyone believed him, and he would have his own place in this world in the future. That kind of “love talent, cherish talent” attitude was vividly reflected in the people around him. He believed that if it was a student who had bad grades, picked fights, and idled around all the time, he wouldn’t receive as good a treatment as Ou Qihang does now.

After Ou Qihang’s incident, everyone was willing to help him. But without that halo, even Huang Ting and Xiao Yujun wouldn’t have that good of an impression of him, and in the end, perhaps only Zhou Sheng and Yu Hao would have been willing to lend him a hand.

People who were good at studying could receive many favours and seemed to have some sort of special privilege. Yu Hao also wished for a day where everyone would like him because he was smart and did well in his studies.

I can’t go on like this anymore. Yu Hao remembered Ou Qihang’s miserable words, and he felt ashamed when he thought about it. While he had asked Ou Qihang to focus on his studies for the college entrance examination, he was getting distracted from his own studies at college.

He decided to stop taking part-time jobs from now on, and just stick with his skateboard club and playing basketball with Fu Liqun and Zhou Sheng. He would spend the rest of his time studying, and he would be doing this for himself too.

Yu Hao remembered how he had told Ou Qihang before that his task was to focus on his studies, but wasn’t it the same for him as well? Yu Hao has never really tasted the sweetness of studying since childhood; but the people around him kept telling him to study hard and at least get an undergraduate degree so that he could support himself in the future. He tried his best to do just that, yet he never had any motivation to change himself from the inside out —

until he met Ou Qihang. From the attitudes of everyone towards Ou Qihang throughout this entire incident, Yu Hao understood from the bottom of his heart that this was very, very important.

“Yu Hao.” Li Yangming shot him a curious glance.

After Zhou Sheng kissed him early in the morning today, he went to class with Fu Liqun. Yu Hao flipped through his books as he ate breakfast. He looked at Li Yangming and shared his croquette with him.

Ol Tjcuwlcu, “Itbe Vtfcu ybeuta atlr obg sbe?”

Yu Hao uttered an “un”. Li Yangming was a little sloppy, much like how Zhou Sheng was before they got together.

“How did you guys know that the other party was gay?” Li Yangming asked.

Yu Hao thought, bro, this is only the second day we’ve known each other, let’s not talk about such serious matters ba……but he suddenly sensed something. Was Li Yangming……

Li Yangming smiled, slightly embarrassed, “You’re really blessed.”

“Ah?!” Yu Hao was stunned. Li Yangming’s identity had slightly changed Yu Hao’s initial impression of him.

“Xue Laoshi got me to come to your dorm,” Li Yangming said, “And said that we could possibly have……a common language.”

Yu Hao blew up within an instant and thought, fuck, so it was because of this?! He was practically in disbelief as he asked, “You told Xue Long about your sexual orientation?”

“I transferred because of that, ai.” Li Yangming sat down on a chair and explained, “It stirred up quite a bit of trouble in my previous school, so I couldn’t stay there anymore. They even said that I had AIDS. I only found two dates online. I’ve always wanted to be in a serious relationship, but I could never find anyone suitable.”

“Oh so it was like that……” Yu Hao murmured, “Actually, this school isn’t that good either.”

Li Yangming said earnestly, “But the college knows about the two of you. I think it should be quite tolerant ba?”

Yu Hao doesn’t believe that Xue Long’s nature would suddenly change. Most likely, after Xue Long knew that Li Yangming was gay, he arranged for him to stay in his dormitory because he wanted less trouble and to avoid having him harass other straight guys in other dormitories, which would result in another hoo-haa. Ultimately, he was just propelled by the motive ‘you perverts can just go harass each other by yourselves’.

“You shouldn’t have told Xue Long.” Yu Hao said.

Li Yangming answered, “My family pulled some strings to transfer me here. Xue Long specifically called my previous college’s form teacher, so it couldn’t have been concealed.”

Yu Hao thought, that really is……then instructed, “Then don’t tell anyone else.”

Yu Hao could feel that there was still discrimination against homosexuals in their college. It’s just that Zhou Sheng was too strong and popular amongst the sports classes, so no one dared to provoke them. As for the psychology classes, Yu Hao rarely interacts with his classmates, and everyone acts polite when they meet.

“I’m really envious of you.” Li Yangming said, “I want a boyfriend like Zhou Sheng too, can you introduce one to me?”

Yu Hao scratched his head and said, “Everyone in the sports classes seems to be straight, as far as I know……”

So Li Yangming could only nod, “Okay then. Are there any who like you whom you don’t want? Share them with me, I won’t mind.”

When Yu Hao heard that, he felt like he got struck by lightning and quickly waved his hand. He didn’t reply before studying again out of awkwardness.

“You must have had a lot of suitors in the past.” Li Yangming said ruefully.

Yu Hao said, “You’re not bad yourself; you have a pretty good temperament. If you’re more youthful and vibrant, you’ll definitely be able to find someone suitable.”

Li Yangming sighed, “Only good-looking people like you guys are youthful. The rest of us can only muddle through, sigh.”

Yu Hao suddenly felt like Li Yangming really resembled his former self.

When he thought of this, he felt a little upset.

“If it wasn’t for Zhou Sheng, I wouldn’t be how I’m like now.” Yu Hao said, “He bought all my shirts, pants, and shoes for me.”

“Okay, stop abusing dogs.” Li Yangming said gloomily.

That wasn’t Yu Hao’s intention. He had just wanted to encourage Li Yangming, but he didn’t expect that it would instead have the opposite effect. So he could only say, “I’ll tell you what content to focus on for the first half of the semester ba.”

Li Yangming nodded. Yu Hao started flipping through his books and began telling him which were the important points to focus on. Li Yangming clearly didn’t study much before his transfer. By the time lunchtime was nearing, Zhou Sheng and Fu Liqun came back.

Yu Hao looked up. He was about to go to the canteen with the rest when Zhou Sheng and Fu Liqun sat down separately.

Yu Hao, “You didn’t go to class?”

“Skipped.” Zhou Sheng answered, “Went to view houses with Gege. Yangming bro, there’s something we wanna discuss with you.”

“Viewing houses?” Li Yangming said, “Do you guys plan to buy a house?”

Zhou Sheng said, “Rent! How do we have that much spare cash to buy one?”

Li Yangming said, “You want everyone to rent a place outside? But I only get 1,200 a month, I don’t think I can……”

Fu Liqun felt a little awkward and thought that Yu Hao had invited Li Yangming, so he glanced at Yu Hao. Yu Hao wore a baffled expression on his face. However, Zhou Sheng just casually said, “Then Yu Hao, Fu Liqun, and I will move over first?”

Yu Hao felt a little sorry for Li Yangming. Right after moving to a new dormitory, all his roommates were going to move out……that’s too inhumane.

Fu Liqun said, “We won’t be spending the night outside every day, we’ll stay in the dormitory about three to four days a week ba. We’re renting mainly because my girlfriend will come visit me occasionally, and getting a room outside is too expensive.”

“Okay.” Li Yangming smiled, “Are you guys asking for my opinion? I don’t really have much of an opinion! The dormitory will feel more spacious if I’m by myself too.”

Yu Hao breathed a sigh of relief in his heart. Zhou Sheng said frankly, “Then okay. You can use anything you want in the communal area, we’ll cover the dormitory’s utility expenses from now on.”

Li Yangming immediately thanked him. This was all beyond Yu Hao’s expectations as it was resolved pretty easily. After school that afternoon, Zhou Sheng and Fu Liqun took Yu Hao to their new home. Zhou Sheng had signed the lease with the landlord and already transferred the deposit and three months worth of rent through his phone. Their new home was one bus stop away from their college, and it was relatively secluded. It was in a small town within the mountains, a four-storied house that was filled with students from the college. There was even a snack street in town.

“Why were you talking to him so much?” Zhou Sheng obviously doesn’t like Li Yangming very much.

Yu Hao said, “He’s pretty lonely, just like the past me.”

Zhou Sheng almost exploded when he heard this. He said angrily, “What?! Say that one more time?”

Yu Hao, “???”

Fu Liqun, “Young Madam, we know that you like to make fun of yourself, but don’t try so hard to do that please.”

“He’s not just making fun of himself, he’s making fun of me too!” Zhou Sheng studied Yu Hao, “Are you trying to indirectly scold me for being blind?”

“That’s not what I meant!” Yu Hao said, “I just think, ai……”

It was very difficult for him to express that feeling, and he couldn’t explain himself well for a moment. But Zhou Sheng said, “Could you stop being such saint?”

“Okay, I got it!” Yu Hao said, “Stop talking!”

As soon as Zhou Sheng said that Yu Hao was a saint, Yu Hao felt a little angry. He knew that it had always been difficult for Zhou Sheng to be friendly to people he just met. If you wanted to be friends with him, you would have to invest a lot in the friendship before obtaining the most basic kind of trust from him. If he has a bad first impression of you, then it would practically be impossible to ever crawl out of his bad books.

Fu Liqun, “What did he say to you?”

“Nothing.” Yu Hao said, “Let’s stop talking about this topic ba.”

Zhou Sheng was a little gloomy too. He stood on the street and said to Yu Hao, “I ran around everywhere today, looked at houses the whole day, contacted the landlord, bought things to decorate the house with……”

Fu Liqun cried bitterly, “Don’t fight here, Young Master and Young Madam.”

“Sorry.” Yu Hao apologised, “It’s been hard on you. Leave the rest to me ba.”

“It’s all done!” Zhou Sheng stood in the corridor, “There’s no more ‘rest’ to do.”

Fu Liqun urged, “Hurry, open the door Young Madam. The new residents are moving in.”

Zhou Sheng passed the keys to Yu Hao unhappily. Yu Hao opened the door and was slightly dumbstruck.

“Such a good house?!” Only then did Yu Hao realise what had happened.

The house was spacious, well-lit, and prepared with all the facilities they needed; all they needed to do was to move in with their luggage. The master bedroom and side bedroom were about the same size, and the rooms weren’t close to each other, so those inside wouldn’t have to worry about disturbing people in the other room. Zhou Sheng had especially chosen to equip the living room with comfortable, warm lights. Yu Hao felt incredibly excited at once and began running around their new house.

“My god!” Yu Hao was frantic, “How did you find this place?! It’s so big! This is too comfortable!”

Fu Liqun and Zhou Sheng put their hands near a small stove to warm themselves up. Zhou Sheng said to Fu Liqun, “But there’s no heater, and it’s a bit cold in the mountains. We won’t be able to get up in the mornings.”

Fu Liqun said, “There’s no heater in the dormitory too. Living in a place like this with our wives everyday would feel so good. Leave some clothes in the dormitory; we can go back for a bath and a change of clothes after classes.”

Yu Hao went to the balcony and looked down. Zhou Sheng said, “We have a senior in his fourth year. He broke up after graduation and wanted to get rid of this place, so he transferred it to us.”
