Chapter 46: Kanto: Chapter 46

After a much needed nap, Aizen took a cold shower and got ready for the evening. He found the girls in the lounge of their suite. And they were busy talking and watching some Pokemon Performances online.

He did not disturb them and sat on the opposite side, opened his laptop and went through his mails before working on some projects.

"Bliss!"

He raised his head and smiled at the caring Pokemon who brought him some coffee.

"Thank you, Bliss."

"Bliss.. Bliss.." She happily smiled and returned to the other side of the lounge where Eevee, Flabebe, Politoed, and the two Nidoran were watching television.

Time passed, and the clock finally hit 6 pm. He finished his work, and heard the girls talking about Privileges and License Upgrades.

"Heh... so you sent Starmie back to the Cerulean Gym." He smirked at the orange-haired girl who seemed a little upset at having to send her Starmie away to keep Onix on her active Team.

"Not everyone has Privileges to keep more than 6 Pokémon on them." She bitterly said.

"You know, if you ask me nicely, I can easily get you a Silver Privilege." He informed her, and she took the bait.

"Really?"

Misty seemed surprised at his words but then frowned.

"How?" She asked. "Professors are only allowed to have two Assistants, and you already have Anira and Leaf as your official Assistants."

"Who said I was going to make you my Assistant?" There was a mischievous glint reflecting in his eyes. "I was thinking of making you my personal Maid." He put up a pondering expression. "You would fit the position nicely." He ran his eyes over her body and nodded to himself.

Misty narrowed her eyes at him, and her cheeks were burning red in anger and embarrassment.

"Like hell I would become a Maid!" She screamed at him. "And where in the World does becoming a Maid get you Silver Privileges?!"

Anira and Leaf laughed at her outburst, making her even more embarrassed.

"Well, becoming my Maid would get you the Silver Privileges." He simply stated and chuckled under her glare.

Misty looked him right in the eyes. She could see that he was teasing her, but at the same time, she felt that he was not bluffing. And then she started debating whether she should accept the offer or not.

Aizen restrained the urge to laugh out loud when he saw Misty seriously considering his offer. And now he so wanted to see if she would agree to become his Maid or not.

"So, do you accept to become my personal Maid?" He teased her some more.

"You are not kidding, are you?" She seriously asked and glanced at Anira. The Orayen Princess encouragingly nodded to her. She turned back to Aizen and questioningly looked him in the eyes.

Aizen only smiled at her suggestively.

Misty blushed at his smile and lowered her eyes a moment later. Her heart was thumping against her chest, and she was drowning in her embarrassment when she spoke next.

"I accept..." She whispered. Even though she was certain that Aizen was bluffing about the 'Maid' part, she couldn't help feel embarrassed at accepting the offer.

Anira and Leaf burst out laughing when they heard her words and this time, Aizen failed to hold it as well and ended up joining the younger girls.

"I am sorry..." He apologised for laughing at her. "Give me your Pokedex." He told her.

"Wait... you were serious?!" Leaf, who had thought that Aizen was only messing with Misty, looked shocked.

"Of course!" He put on a serious face and nodded, but inwardly he was laughing at how cute Leaf looked right now. Her small mouth was dropped open and her eyes were wide in disbelief. She really thought he was going to make Misty his Maid.

Misty quickly handed him her Pokedex after unlocking it.

The girls patiently waited for nearly 15 minutes as Aizen worked on his Laptop after connecting Misty's Pokedex to it.

"I forgot to ask, but do you have any problems with being affiliated with Blanc Island?" He raised his head and asked.

"Would I have to send my Pokemon there if they are not on my active Team?" She was currently affiliated with Cerulean Gym, and changing affiliations meant that she would no longer represent It.

"It is your call. You can still send them to Cerulean Gym after being affiliated with us. But, it would be good if you send your Pokemon to the Blanc Island from time to time."

"I will do it." Misty smiled at him and happily nodded after thinking over it carefully.

It took Aizen another five minutes to finish up the procedure.

"Here..." He mischievously smiled at her as he handed her the Pokedex.

Misty looked at her new Job's description in disbelief. And when she saw how much money she would be paid monthly, her heart nearly stopped.

"This..."

"What?" Aizen smiled at her. "You really wanted to become a Maid?" He teasingly smiled. "Not that I would mind it, but Maids don't get any Privileges."

Misty calmed down a little after hearing his words and seeing his smile.

"The wage is too much." She sternly said. "And I don't need your money." Her heart was really uncomfortable at the thought of being paid by him. She felt as if he was taking away her freedom.

"Just think of it as sponsorship money." Aizen waved it off. "There are certain rules that even I have to follow. I can't just keep an unpaid Royal Guard on the official roster."

"But..." Misty wanted to argue, but Aizen cut her off.

"If you are uncomfortable with it, I can take back the Job and the Privilege." He seriously said.

Misty felt conflicted now. On one hand, she was really uncomfortable and wanted to reject it, and on the other hand, she felt that it would be insulting to reject the job.

"What do I have to do as a Royal Guard?" She asked after a while, making her choice. "I am not on Blanc Island and the job description..."

"Nothing." He winked at her. "Royal Guards are responsible for keeping the Orayen Palace and the Blanc Island safe. They are also like Pokemon Rangers, since it is their responsibility to keep all the Pokémon on the Blanc Island safe from the outside world." Aizen explained to her. "But you don't have to do any of that since you are on an official leave."

"We have families that have served us for centuries, and they make up the Orayen Royal Guard. You are the first person outside of the Blanc Island to have this job." Anira smiled at her.

"The contract is temporary, and will end after two years. You only need to serve as a Royal Guard for three months, and the Silver Perk will permanently be added on your Trainer's License. And if you are not comfortable with it, you can terminate the contract any time you want." Aizen walked over to her and made her look at the contract details of her new job.

Misty now felt silly for not looking at the contract details before. Her heart felt a lot better after reading the contract. There were no restrictions, no obligations, and she was in complete control over her job. The money still bothered her, but she could always spend it on her friends. She could also consider it as a sponsorship money and pay them back by representing them in future Tournaments.

"Thank you..." She gratefully said, and blushed when she realized how close Aizen's face was right now.

"You're welcome!" He smiled brightly and stood back up. "Now that you have the Silver Privileges, you should start thinking over which Exam you want to take for the Golden Privileges. You are already 15 and eligible to take those Examinations."

"I already know what I want to do." She smiled at him. "Pokemon Ranger and Pokemon Law-Enforcement are out of question. They don't suit me at all. That only leaves Pokemon Breeder and Pokemon Doctor examinations. Since examinations for Pokemon Doctors are ridiculously difficult, I am going to go with Pokemon Breeder's Test. I already have some field experience from helping out at my family's breeding farm."

"That's nice!" Leaf brightly said. "Aizen is already making me and Anira study for Breeder's Examinations. You can join us on them."

"Sure." The orange-haired girl happily nodded.

There was a sudden knock on the door of their lounge, and then a Chansey opened it and entered.

They were really glad that it was not Ash.

"Chansey!"

The pink pokemon happily hopped over to Aizen and handed him a slip.

"Thank you." He smiled at her before looking at the slip.

"What is it?" Misty curiously asked.

"It's Ash. He's looking for me." Aizen sighed.

"Well, don't hold back in the match." Misty seriously said.

"It's just a mock battle, Misty. No need to hurt the Pokemon." The Orayen Prince shook his head before walking out of the suite.
