Chapter 240: Make Britain Big Again

*KNOCK KNOCK*

The queen entered with small steps. She was not that old, but it seems this was the royal method of walking gracefully. Magnus immediately decided he was not going to let his mother or hopefully a future sister do this. They can live however they want.

"Good morning, Granny Liz." He greeted the old woman. The beef between them had vanished after the princess apologised to Grace by standing outside the mansion door for 3 days(The inner door, not the compound wall door.).

She smiled cheerfully, her stomach always felt ticklish when she heard this word. Maybe because she really associates herself as his grandmother now and thinking about his achievements she gets very excited and also feels immense pride.

"Hello, dear. What brought you this morning here?" She asked as she gracefully sat down on the visitor's chair.

Magnus did what a good British person would do while talking about important stuff, poured a cup of tea for both of them. It was not just a normal tea though, it had herbs in it, both magical and muggle. An Indian kid at Hogwarts made him taste the tea made in his style and he loved it. Since then, he felt the original tea he used to drink was bland. Just adding some ginger, cloves and cardamom could change the taste so much.

He took a sip and relaxed, "Ah, no wonder you guys waged Opium Wars for tea. It is addicting."

"What do you mean you guys? You are a part of us now." The queen argued.

Magnus raised his hand, "No no no... don't pin that on me now. I have nothing to do with your colonial past, I am a new royal entirely."

"But the people see you as one with us." She said.

Magnus was disheartened, "Why else do you think I am doing so much to wash that image away?"

"Well, the Prime Minister hogged all the goodwill for your recent work then. But don't worry, dear. I will talk to him." She assured him.

"No, Granny. I will deal with him. He stepped out of line and there should be consequences. He should never forget, it's him who has to win an election, not me. Anyway, I did not call you here for that. I want to discuss step 2 of the plan to make Britain big again.

"Your work in Zimbabwe is amazing. The people there see us in a very good light. I will also be sending a small team of Emrys Construction people to help build some basic infrastructure like roads, schools, clinics. The volunteer teachers and healthcare workers you sent were good.

"Now, every single child knows about Britain and where it is on the map. In a few years, they will be completely in admiration of this country. Meanwhile, the students studying in Britain on scholarship are also happy. Once they graduate, you must make sure they get a job here.

"We're not brain-draining them, instead we will make the people who will be working here support our move to combine Zimbabwe into Great Britain. Remember, we may be doing everything with good intentions, not everyone will appreciate it. So we need to make our case so strong that even after many voices are against it, Zimbabwe will agree.

"For this, you need to send the BBC News. They are pretty good at spreading the word. Tell them to always show Britain in a good light and highlight all the amazing things we are doing there, of course, and never forget it's the royal family that's doing it." He instructed her.

She was already writing notes. After seeing how Magnus solved the oil problem and seeing how chill he was with the Saudi King, she had her utmost confidence in him that he would do anything in his power to make Great Britain truly great.

Magnus continued, "Other than this, I want you to keep on reminding the world about how great of a job we all are doing here. Make the people of this country proud of being British, make them nationalistic about the land they live on, make them loyal to the country itself and not a single political party. And overall, make them connect the royal family with the national image. This way, the monarchy will not only gain reputation but even lost support.

"All this was about the local population. We also need to focus on a few more British Overseas territories. The reason is simple, these territories are in places around the world where if we have total control we can cover the entire world with our military influence. Nobody in the world will be able to threaten us then." He suggested.

"What territories in particular?" The queen asked him.

He blurted out a list, "British Honduras, just renamed as Belize, Brunei, Gibraltar, Falkland Islands and British Indian Ocean Territory. With these territories becoming our part, we will have the full world under our sphere of influence. The easiest way to make these countries agree is to make them realise that without us their economy will tank and they will suffer. And this is true to some degree."

She finished writing on a paper, "So you want me to treat the same as Zimbabwe and win their hearts. I think this is easier than Zimbabwe since they have a smaller population."

"But it also means they can be easily influenced. Now, they can also be influenced against us. So, make sure you have tight control over what words or rumours are spreading." Magnus warned her. He had himself used the tools of propaganda after all.

Sensing this was the end of work. The queen closed the notebook and asked, "How is Grace?"

"She's good. Usually stays at home to better deal with her pregnancy. You should go and meet her. My grandma is also living with us, maybe you will like talking with someone close to your age," he suggested.

*Sigh* "I might do just that. Always staying between these walls is nauseating." She muttered.

Magnus internally scoffed. He was for the first time hearing a queen living in a castle, calling the experience nauseating. Then what about the people who live in a one-bedroom home?

"How is Prince Philip? Is he still against me?" Magnus asked her.

Her face fell all of a sudden, it seemed she was not expecting this question. "Well, we rarely talk and meet anymore. He is busy with his things while I'm busy here. Don't worry about it. He can't do anything anymore. He has no authoritative powers."

"Hmm, I hope he forgets everything and starts anew. By the way, Granny, what happened to the royal succession act? When will it get passed?" Magnus inquired, as he wanted to be named the crown prince as soon as possible, saving Adam the things he had to do unwillingly.

"Next year at the parliamentary session it will be passed. Consider it already clear from the House of Lords. The House of Commons will also do so soon enough. I have already assured the prime minister that you will be the real crown prince no matter what. Among all the people who know your background, everyone supports you." She said confidently. She was after all an old player at this game.

By law, the Monarchy was not allowed to interfere with the government or the law-making process. They were only supposed to be pretty fairy tale characters, who existed to host guest heads of states.

However, this was usually never the case. The queen always had her eyes on what was going on in the two chambers and whenever she needed something she also lobbies and pushes for a law. Of course, people never find out and nobody dares to leak it too.

"Then, I will await any good news. If you have any need to talk to me later contact me through the letter. I shall take my leave now, I must go and check the new hospital." Magnus got up and said bye. "Take care, Granny, see you later."

Abe came and teleported him away to the construction site. Magnus did know how to apparate but he was not very confident in it unless it was so close he could see the destination with his eyes.

As soon as he entered the location. He couldn't even recognise the place. It looked absolutely beautiful. There was grass on the whole unused area, trees were strategically placed, creating parks for people to walk in. The trees also covered the two sides of the roads, but they were planted in such a way that people could still see the entire forms of the buildings, to admire them.

Magnus had already told Venessa to take charge of overseeing the project. It had turned out well. The buildings were just getting painted, glass was being fixed.

"Sir, any more changes you want?" Venessa followed him with full alertness. She had long forgotten to act sloppy in front of him since she slowly understands how great Magnus is. On top of that, ~I'M WORKING FOR A ROYAL PRINCE! EEEE...~ She was excited inside. Very excited.

"No, Venessa. You did a great job. I love it. We should be able to open it by the end of this year. What about the college? How is that going? It was created at the earliest." he inquired. According to the plan, there should be students already.

"Oh... yes, there have been students and teachers for the past whole year. But, the college lacks fame so not many join. I am sure once your name is associated with it, they will flock here." She explained.

Magnus thought felt bad, "Too bad we will have to look for a lot of the staff, as the students won't graduate by then. Anyway, I'll start hiring, Venessa. First, poach some managing directors from a few big hospitals and make them manage the whole mega hospital complex. Tell them to make a list of all required employees and then start interviewing. It will take a lot of time so be quick."

"YES, SIR. Anything else?" She asked again.

"Yes... please stop smiling like that. You look like a predator, a bad one. And you know, I'm a kid." He laughingly advised her.

"A..." She jumped back in embarrassment but didn't have the guts to clarify why she was like that. She was just happy to be near a royal.

Magnus sighed and walked away and indulged himself in a tiny bit of some healthy narcissism, ~*Sigh* I guess my charm is just too much for even older women.~
