Chapter 256: Night Visit to Longteng Jiayuan and Chen Ye’s Villa

Chapter 256 Night Visit to Longteng Jiayuan and Chen Ye’s Villa

Su Yang asked, “What’s the message?”

Janet replied, “The prompt said that the ability can take effect here.”

Su Yang looked around and saw that it wasn’t blocked by any nearby buildings. The flower gardens in the community were always crowded and were considered public, so it was understandable that the ability could take effect here.

‘However… How can I turn invisible here?’

Su Yang thought about it, took out his phone and asked, “Little Deeny, how far is the connection distance for your headphones?”

Little Deeny’s voice sounded in Su Yang’s ear, (Master, I’m not sure, maybe there’s no limit to the distance…]

Su Yang asked again, “Then, how many pairs of headphones can you replicate?” Deeny replied, “It’s the only pair, I don’t have the ability to replicate headphones…” ‘Uhh, there’s only one pair… Okay. One pair is fine.’

Thinking this way, Su Yang took off his headphones and stuck them to Janet’s neck before saying to Janet, “You test it here while I go home to test it. If there are any problems, you can communicate directly with Little Deeny, and she’ll pass on the message to me.”

Janet replied succinctly, “Okay.”

Following that, Su Yang and Janet embarked on a series of tests.

Janet draped herself in a raincoat in the neighborhood and poured water on her head, designating Su Yang to be the one that would turn invisible.

As a result, Su Yang turned invisible the moment he reached home.

Su Yang didn’t notice anything unusual before and only felt his body feel a sudden cooling sensation. It was like a bottle of cold water had been poured over him from top to bottom before he saw himself slowly disappearing

When he went to the mirror in the toilet, there was no reflection of him in the mirror.

It seemed that the invisibility was really working. Su Yang then used the (Unknown Sticky Note] to turn a pot into a camera and recorded the state he was in.

As a result, he realized that if he put the camera down, it would turn the camera visible. However, the camera would continue filming and become invisible once more when he picked it up.

When Su Yang tried to pick up something else, the item would turn invisible as well. No matter what movements he made or what he picked up, the camera was completely unable to capture it. It was as if everything had disappeared into thin air.

Su Yang continued to experiment, and used the (Unknown Sticky Note] to turn the pot into an infrared camera. He found that even with the infrared display, he and all the items on him weren’t even displayed.

In other words, this stealth technology was so high that it was able to conceal heat radiation!

‘Crikey!’

Throughout the duration of Su Yang’s experiment, Janethad had caused a lot of onlookers to turn their heads while diligently playing her part.

The older ladies in the neighborhood really loved to gossip so when they saw a ‘foreign woman’ like Janet in the neighborhood wearing a raincoat and pouring water on her head, they started discussing among themselves.

“Haiyah, foreigners are strange. Why is she pouring water on her own head?”

“I know, it’s the proverbial performance art I

guess.”

“Ouch, they don’t know anything about performance art. It just looks like she’s just been dumped.”

“When you put it that way, it kind of looks that way.”

“I remember she came with Su Yang, right…”

“Oh yeah, I didn’t think…”

Being a shark, Janet didn’t care about the gossip obviously going around by the surrounding ladies as he continued pouring water on his head.

This continued until all the water was gone. After he reported to Little Deeny, he took off his raincoat in slow motion, carried his bucket, and went home.

Su Yang was almost all done with his experiment by now, so the timing was just right.

Now that everything was settled, he looked forward to going to Longteng Jiayuan tonight!

Soon it was 9:00 p.m., and when Pool returned home, Su Yang, him, and Janet went out the door.

Su Yang took a taxi to Longteng Jiayuan, and Janet still continued to pour water over her head. Pool was in charge of maneuvering the vehicle and making sure there isn’t a shortage of water. For example, if there wasn’t enough water, he’d bring Janet another bucket.

Su Yang took a taxi to a place some distance away from Longteng Jiayuan. After paying the fare, he went down the road alone, walked into the bushes and asked Little Deeny to give Janet instructions.

Soon, he felt his body becoming cool, and Su Yang watched himself slowly disappear into thin air, and he knew the ability had taken effect.

He stepped out of the bushes, and then headed to Longteng Jiayuan. As Su Yang had expected, his absence in the past few days caused the security guards at Longteng Jiayuan to be a bit lax. When he arrived at the entrance, several security guards ignored Su Yang. Even when he accidentally passed by them, a security guard just said, “Huh?”

After having a look around them, they didn’t see anything unusual so they strolled past him

They probably didn’t care, but Su Yang’s heart was pounding wildly from the scare.

Su Yang stopped for a full minute before he started walking again.

This time, he carefully circumvented the people before climbing over the traffic interceptor and went inside the Longteng Jiayuan. This was Su Yang’s first time inside Longteng Jiayuan. He had always thought that a place like Longteng Jiayuan was probably a dirty, dark environment which hid dirt and filth to hold the secrets that it had been hiding.

However, it turned out wildly different from his expectations. The impression he got from the TV series were all lies. Longteng Jiayuan was the most beautiful neighborhood Su Yang had ever seen with green trees everywhere along neat and wide roads. Since the height of the villa was lower than ordinary houses, it made the lighting extremely well. Even at night, Longteng Jiayuan had a unique quiet sereneness to it under the moonlit sky.

Su Yang walked on the road of Longteng Jiayuan, looking at the villas on both sides of the road. Some of them had lights on but they also had curtains drawn so the interior couldn’t be seen from the outside. Others had dim lights and it was unclear if no one lived there or if the owner wasn’t there.

‘Where do I start investigating? There doesn’t seem to be any clues…’

Just when Su Yang was hesitating, he suddenly heard the sound of an engine behind him.

Su Yang was busy moving aside since he was invisible. It would be devastating if he was run over because no one else could see him!

Behind him was a BMW but Su Yang couldn’t tell what model it was since he wasn’t well versed in specific car models.

The BMW drove past Su Yang and drove into the garage of a villa in front of him.

As the car entered the garage, the electric door slowly shuttered and the owner of the car never came out after that.

After a while the villa lit up but no one was seen operating it as the curtains were pulled together slowly and automatically.

As Sixth Liu had said, the residents of this villa area were very cold and indifferent. They would drive all the way into their homes and wouldn’t take a step outside their villa.

Su Yang continued to walk forward. As he walked, Su Yang came to a somewhat familiar one-story villa.

Su Yang raised his head to take a look and found that the house number was 18.

If memory served him right, this seemed to be Chen Ye’s villa. ‘Did I actually walk here?’

Su Yang looked around and saw that this villa was not sealed by the authorities despite Chen Ye’s misdoings previously. He didn’t know if it was because of someone powerful in Longteng Jiayuan or if the authorities had just missed out on it.

Su Yang walked up and looked around. After confirming that there was no surveillance, he looked at the villa’s door lock and saw that the lock was a biometric fingerprint lock without a keyhole.

Su Yang took out the (Shape-shifting Vellum), thought about the appearance of the key, and the vellum paper suddenly changed into a key.

When Su Yang put the vellum key on the lock, the front end of the key slowly grew, and finally became the shape of a human finger. It then attached itself to the fingerprint identification slot and with a soft click, the door was opened. Su Yang pushed the door open a little, quickly went inside, and closed the door.

After entering the villa, Su Yang studied it. This villa is not large, but the decoration was very luxurious with a simple and modern style overall while sporting a gray theme

Su Yang walked inside by the moonlight. It seemed like there hadn’t been anyone here for almost half a month. Some of the villa’s tables and chairs had a thick layer of dust on them.

Su Yang looked at the ground and found that there was also a layer of dust on the floor, with his footprints clearly imprinted on it. What was more surprising was that the villa was also cluttered with other people’s footprints in addition to his. It was as if someone had come several times before he did.

Su Yang thought about it, and used the (Unknown Sticky Note] to get two foot covers to put over his feet, and two plastic gloves to remove the shoe prints he made earlier before he continued walking in the villa.

The living room on the first floor of the villa looked like it had been rummaged through, with some things thrown about in a haphazard manner.

There was nothing of value on the first floor, so Su Yang went up to the second floor and continued browsing. There were three bedrooms, a study room, and some messy rooms on the second floor. Su Yang went to the first bedroom, and it was like a guest room, clean and simple.

Chen Ye’s clothes had been thrown around haphazardly, and the room was in a mess. It felt like the room of a bachelor living alone.

Su Yang had a good look at the room, but didn’t find anything of interest so he went to the study room instead.

There was a desk, a large bookshelf, and a safe embedded in the wall in the study room.

Su Yang looked at the bookshelf and saw that the pile of books on the shelf were all unopened. The books were famous titles of finance, film, and television but they looked like they had been bought to decorate the room.

Su Yang had a good look at the desk and only saw an Apple Macbook on the desk with nothing else of value so he headed to the safe.

When he arrived, Su Yang took out the (Shape-Shifting Vellum) and pointed it at the safe’s combination plate. The front end of the vellum key slowly separated into three small claws that grabbed the combination plate and began to turn it.

After a few turns, the safe opened and there was a stack of cash inside totaling up to more than 200,000 yuan.

Su Yang thought about it and put this money into the virtual space.

He didn’t intend to keep it for himself but suddenly remembered that Wang Shan’s father was still seriously ill and bedridden. Since Wang Shan had died because of Chen Ye, this money should be used to compensate her family.

After taking away the money, the safe was empty.

Just when Su Yang wanted to close the safe, the sound of a lock opening suddenly sounded in the silent room. With that sound, the lights on the ground floor of the villa came on and the voices of two people could be heard.
