Chapter 79: Chapter 79: Vahn’s Stats

The group spent the entire night in the basement cultivating.

Dyne employed a more offensive means of sucking the Soul Energy. While Grim was willingly giving his soul, and the Zenoir was helpless due to the petrification, the three Level 2 Gimards were fighting back at Dyne’s attacks. But they were too weak to fight back.

Dyne also used his Imaginarium Art to startle the Gimards. The momentary surprise gave Dyne the opportunity to rush in and start siphoning the soul. And like trying to close a breach in a ship, the Gimards were now unable to stop Dyne from stopping him from drawing out their soul.

Their souls were being given to Grim. Grim was in the process of continuous conversion. The dark souls that entered his were now being filtered and changed out. It fed Grim, and the excess energy that he couldn’t absorb was being taken by Vahn and Tetsu, who was holding on to Grim.

The process was slow, and it took the entire night.

Soon, only one Gimard remained, and it was decided that Meta would absorb the entire soul to strengthen her fire powers.

Meta had improved her ability to wield the Elements as her memory allowed her to summon it instinctively. The absorbed Gimard also strengthened the Elemental Spirit Stone of Meta as it now had more energy.

At the break of dawn, Dyne stopped. He glanced at Tetsu and Vahn and shrieked.

“GET AWAY FROM ME, MAN!” Dyne shouted.

Of course, this was because Vahn and Tetsu were covered in the black slimy substance that was excreted as their bodies purged the Death energy.

Dyne even ordered Grim to release fire to burn the slimy stuff on its body.

Vahn and Tetsu hurriedly took a bath and did their best to cleanse themselves.

It was only afterward that Dyne spoke with them.

“Erm… Sorry about that.” Dyne laughed with an embarrassed expression.

“So… how was it.”

“Lord Dyne, Vahn’s body, has been purified, and it has grown significantly. His stats have increased greatly!” Meta reported.

“It’s true. I can feel the power surging!” Vahn excitedly exclaimed.

Tetsu also nodded.

“The power that I’ve long lost has now returned!” Tetsu also reported.

“Alright. Enjoy it. We can’t do that again and again. This is the first and last time we will do that since it’s just too long to do. Besides, you must have felt that the longer we did it, the effects were diminishing.”

“Indeed.” Tetsu nodded.

“Alright. I hope you guys are alright. The cleansing of your bodies ought to have refreshed you. Let’s make haste. I can’t sense the Basilisk anymore, so we should be safe from moving!” Dyne explained.

The group made their preparations. The restored gates and walls stood strongly, and Tetsu and the team made their last fortification. Calamity crawled over the walls and went to the other side to lock it from the inside.

“Amazing. Now only those with Slimes can enter this place…” Dyne was amazed at Calamity’s growth.

“When did he learn to do that?”

“That’s what we meant by Calamity carrying wood. He could carry and bring the wood up the wall. We were surprised that he could do it .”

“What has he been eating?”

“Lippians, Frogs, and Ostriches are his main diet here.”

“Hmm… It could be that it somehow got the traits of one of those enemies. Is it those frogs? They seemed to have a slimy, sticky coat that seemed poisonous. Interesting… So Slimes can assimilate things from monsters… Very interesting…” Dyne smiled a strange smile.

Calamity finished locking the door on the other side and kept creeping over the wall.

The group immediately set out for Biron Monastery. Their speed was so fast as they had strengthened their bodies. Dyne was purged when he created the Brimstone heart. As such, he was the one who had the most stamina throughout the journey.

At night, the group moved by riding on Calamity somehow could enlarge itself to nearly twice it’s size. Dyne wondered just how big the Slime King is if Calamity had already grown this large from eating the monsters on this area of the map.

Meta would release her powers to make it look like a level 2 Gimard was nearby and made the monsters avoid them while the group rested.

Dyne took the time to assess the current items that they had on stock.

The few days in the village allowed Vahn and Tetsu to fight and hunt more enemies. The group had found more healing leaves than they found from the Ostriches, who seemed to have a habit of keeping some under its wings for consumption. The team also found the raw form of Medicine from the Lippians, which were stronger than Antidotes and could heal various ailments.

Meta reported that Vahn was already level five and now had the ability to reach the next levels.

The team even took the time to compare strengths with each other through arm wrestling.

Dyne couldn’t even beat Vahn through it, and here Dyne asked Meta just how strong Vahn is.

“I could tell you his stats, Master Dyne. It would be easier that way.”

“What? You mean you convert the power of Vahn into some sort of numerical value?”

“Yes. It’s so that Vahn can gauge his strength and powers.” Meta explained.

“Oh? This is interesting. In Biron, we would have to undergo tests. It seems having a Ra-Seru can help one realize his strength!” Tetsu was amazed.

Dyne was quiet, but his emotions were sour.

“There’s a way to know my stats, and you didn’t tell me?!” Dyne cursed at Strafe.

“You don’t have a Ra-Seru. Of course, you wouldn’t know! If you got one from the beginning, then it would have been possible. Besides, I have to use my powers to make an estimate for you! But then again, doing that is pointless. You are a freak in soul cultivation. Even Vahn’s stats should be unreliable now!”

“Can you do the same with me?” Dyne immediately asked Meta.

“I apologize, Lord Dyne, but I can only do this to my wearer.”

“It’s alright. I just was curious if you can. Tell me Vahn’s stats.”

Meta then relayed Vahn’s current stats:

Health- 65

Magic Capacity- 83

Strength- 60

Upper Body Vitality- 45

Lower Body Vitality- 36

Speed- 45

Mind Force- 39

Agility- 246

Dyne wrote down Vahn’s stats for reference and began to question Meta what it meant.

“Health calculates the overall force of his body. The best way to explain this is that an adult who has not trained or cultivated would have a health point of 10. So Vahn is six times more resilient than an average adult. The same is true with strength, vitality, and speed.”

“I see. Then he should be at least as strong as an Inner Disciple! Impressive!” Tetsu was happy for Vahn.

“Not bad for his level,” Dyne added as he recalled that the stats Vahn now had was something he should achieve when he was at level eight or so. And so, these worlds Vahn had the stats that were superior compared to the game version of Vahn.

The only unusual stat point was Vahn’s agility. But Dyne guessed that because Vahn was a Soul Cultivator, this was only an estimate. Vahn could, after all, make more than ten attacks in succession.

“So, Health is 65. I guess this would mean that it's somewhere at 650 in-game?” Dyne guessed, looking at the numbers. In the game, their health would range from hundreds to thousands. If Meta judged it as 65, then this would mean that Vahn had about 650 health points.

“Why is Vahn’s vitality divided into two groups?” Tetsu asked.

“My powers in strengthening Vahn are still limited. As such, my ability's reach and extent are naturally stronger on the body parts of Vahn near me. As such, Dyne’s lower body vitality is naturally weaker than the top.”

Dyne nodded. He had long expected this as he knew the game divided defense to Upper Body Defense and Lower Body Defense.

“So Dyne’s magic capacity is now at 83? Nice. That means he can summon the Zenoir two times or the Gimard eight.” Dyne guessed.

“How did you know that, Lord Dyne?!” Meta was shocked. Dyne was absolutely correct in his guesses.

“Oh. Yeah. It’s a spirit cultivation thing.” Dyne casually remarked and hid the fact that he knew the cost of the Zenoir and Gimard when summoning them in-game. Gimard cost 10 magic points, while the Zenoir cost 36.

“I’m training to decrease the value of these summonses. I have little progress.” Vahn reported.

“Vahn is correct. Lord Dyne, as of now, it would only cost Vahn 9 and a half magic points to summon the Gimard. As for the Zenoir, he was able to decrease the amount by nearly 2 magic points.”

Dyne was stunned.

“Oh? Impressive! So you can reduce the value by about five percent? Good job, Vahn!”

“Such envious ability.” Tetsu laughed.

“Don’t worry, Tetsu. I’ll see what I can do. Strafe will soon send me to a place where I could find stuff to help you guys build your Elemental Spirit Seed. So you could have one too very soon, Master Tetsu.” Dyne laughed.

“Such power? Amazing. I will be forever indebted, Master Dyne.” Tetsu bowed.

“No need for that. Being indebted is a causeless emotion when we are trying to save the world! Oh, right, Tetsu. What are other villages near here? Looking at the bridge in River reach, it seems to be connected to the other side. Is there a town beyond River Reach?

“Yes. It is the mining town of Chorak. It is the primary source of mining and the source of stones in Drake. But now, I do not know the current status of it. Monsters may have made a home in that place.”

“Another side-quest, I see. Oh. There it is! Biron Monastery!” Dyne smiled as he could see the large temple doors that led to the mountain.
