Rae's POV
The next level looked a little bit more friendly. Is it true that the levels get harder and harder as we go down?
The first monster I saw was gelatinous in nature. I think it is some sort of slime monster. Is this truly what I am supposed to face. No, let me not belittle it. Things are not what they always seem. I looked at the creature and waited to see an attack but it was not attacking.
I decided to walk past it but still maintained some level of cautiousness. The group followed me and also did not engage them. The path seemed a little bit straightforward and not as complicated as the first level. Are we seriously still in the same dungeon?
As we continued moving the number of slimes seemed to increase and soon enough I could see them getting more and more until it seemed they wanted to suffocate us. At first, punching seemed to work but as the slimes number increased so did their elasticity. Punching them was no longer working. Wait are these creatures adaptive?
Out of nowhere, Eleanor sprayed them with a lot of fire magic. Those that were around her instantly melted and their number was greatly reduced.
We could now walk free but the number of the slimes seemed to still increase and their colours also seemed to change. Soon Eleanor's fire magic was doing nothing to them.
"Careful, I think these monsters are weak but they are quick to adapt. If we continue to engage them more than necessary we will only be adding to their strength."
I wanted to try my blood compulsion magic on these monsters and see if I can gain a little bit of control and understanding of them but I was frightened because of how easy they could adapt to it.
At the start, the slimes did not have a vibrant colour that is they were sort of a translucent grey colour but as we continued engaging them they gained two visible colours that is metallic silver and a charring red colour.
The metallic silver ones seemed to be very resistant to physical attacks while the red ones seemed to be very resistant to fire attacks. They also seemed to learn the abilities that they are resistant to. I mean that the silver ones hit us with their squishy skins which seemed to harden to a metal-like state when they got into contact with us while the red ones spew hot flames at us.
Fortunately for us once the red slimes did an attack they died from their own attacks but unfortunately the silver ones remained unscathed after an attack. That is a little bit biased but who cares.
"I think these slime monsters learn from our attacks so let us not feed them any more information. We will be using the attacks we have already given them that us to alternate between fire magic and physical attacks. Sorry, Eleanor looks like we will be over-relying on you."
"No problem my queen this has been what I have longed for."
"So I think that the Silver ones are still weak to fire magic while the red ones are still weak to physical attacks. You all know what to do right?"
"Yes, we will attack the silver ones with fire magic and the red ones with physical attacks."
We did this until we come to an open area that I assume was the floor guardians room since there was a gate in it.

"Welcome challengers. You have done well to reach this far. To proceed you need to defeat me first."
I could not tell where the voice was coming from. Was this floor guardian invisible?
Out of nowhere, a slime grew to the size of a building. It had both the red and silver colour. I assume that is the floor guardian.
It then produced a fountain of silver and red slimes. Were all the slimes under its control? If so do they have a sort of hive mind where they share the experiences they gained? This monster if not fought with intelligence could grow to be quite a nuisance. The best way to fight this monster is to attack it with an attack it is not familiar with. But doing it blindly might be a problem since the spell might hit one of its servants and the slime monsters get to learn that ability plus gain a resistance to it.
The best way out is to use my blood compulsion ability on the slime master. This will allow me to make all the slimes immobile even if only for a second before realising a huge light magic attack on them.
I slit my left palm to release the blood needed. The blood produced formed a sort of red mist
Wait I had not thought of the princess what if she is weak to light magic?
"Eleanor take this and shield the princess with it. To use it just let your mana flow through it."
Now that that was done I can finally finish these monsters.
After I was done casting my spell a bright flashing light was seen and what was left afterwards was another computer-like storage device just like before and a sort of shield that seemed to be made of the slimes skin.
The huge gate glowed in the luminous light and another round of inscriptions appeared then disappeared just like before and the gate then opened up.
The levelling up feeling just like the one I had felt before washed over me. So do I truly level up the more I conquer this dungeon?
Eleanor and Cilia followed me through the gate to the next level.
If I continue at this pace maybe I will be done before the end of the next few days.
When I come to see what was waiting in the third level, I thought maybe I had spoke too soon.
