Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Heirarchy

I learned many things on my first day in college, which is that this school had a hierarchy that must be followed.

The weak, either rich or poor, were underlings or lower than bugs.

"Look at her, she's about to cry." A girl says with a smirk.

I noticed three girls nearby surrounding another girl, they seemed to be bullying her.

"Don't cry, we're friends, aren't we? We'll still hang out at your place, right?" Another girl asked leaning closer to the girl they were bullying,

One thing I learned from my grandfather was not to get involved unless I thought the thing was worth involving myself.

I knew he meant that whatever was a worthy cause for me to get involved.

Even when I was a street rat I never got involved with others, since doing so would put me in danger.

I tapped my fingers on my desk lightly and continued to survey the group.

"What are you thinking about?" The voice next to my ear meant that Wen had leaned in towards me from behind.

If I looked closely the girl getting bullied wasn't just anyone, she had some backing.

But those three most likely had even stronger backing, so they probably grew up with the girl.

If my calculations are correct then the girl grew up believing the bullies were her friends.

I probably shouldn't get involved with people who had no sense of reality.

"You are cruel, maybe even crueler than those girls," Wen whispers.

Is he trying to invoke me to take action? How childish of him, but he didn't need to since I was waiting for the right moment.

"Um...um.....actually..." The girl spoke softly and a little nervously.

Honestly, she was kind of cute with pigtails and glasses that made her doe eyes pop.

I'm sure that her weak nature makes her an easy target to deal with.

One of the girl's expressions changed to a malicious stare, "are we not friends? You won't abandon us, right?" She asked getting closer to the girl.

"That's right, it was just an accident, we didn't mean it." Another one of the three girls says with an obvious smirk.

They are shameless to lie to someone straight to their face like that.

"Please stop...I...I think we shouldn't be friends anymore!" Pigtails yell loudly.

Oh?

Looks like I was wrong, this girl has a bit of a backbone.

"You bitch!" One of the girls raised her hand and it was my moment to shine.

Without hesitating to take action anymore I grabbed the girl's wrist and squeezed tightly, "I would stop here if I were you." I told her.

She scowled in my direction, "the fuck...why is a newbie getting involved?" She asked trying to remove her wrist.

What the hell's with this girl? Her grip is strong! The girl thought.

I gave her a fake smile, "if I hadn't gotten involved, that poor girl's cute face would have been ruined." I said.

Wen stood a bit behind me and looked down at the girl with pigtails, "you good?" He asked.

She avoided eye contact but nodded, I'm sure she felt that me doing this was probably not enough.

I don't have any power of my own yet, and I wanted to prove to my grandfather that I could do things on my own.

This is why I will gather the power I needed and rule not only the hierarchy in this school but the streets that I came from and much more.

To do that; I need people, finances, and businesses to gain power.

Looks like his master sent someone interesting to him. Wen crossed his arms as he watched the scene before him.

He was skeptical at first when he got a call from his master that he was sending his most precious person to him.

According to the old man, she was not someone that he could handle, with a clear mind and a gaze that held a large amount of potential.

Since these were just the usual school bully it's not much of a feat, he'll have to see how she fares in the real world.

I threw the girl's hand and towered over her just a bit, the girl was sweating bullets.

Her aura isn't that of a normal person, the girl thought this before speaking and pointing at the new girl, "fine, but don't relax so soon! Just you wait!" The three girls ran back to their seats.

"Sounds like a typical villain's line," Wen muttered.

I turned to the pigtail girl and crouched down, "there's no need to look so scared we're friends now." I told her.

This was my way of protecting her.

Wen gave me a suspicious stare, I frowned at him, "what's that look for?" I asked.

He covers his smiling face, "I see, so your weakness is cute things." He teases.

I can tell that he was getting a kick out of this, "just sit down back there." I told him plopping down next to the girl.

Wen plops down next to me, "no way, I'm intrigued about what will happen next." He says.

Wen leaned forward so he could peek around me, "Hey girl, what's your name?" He asked.

She looked up a bit before answering, "Zou, Hinata." She answers.

Wen grins and points to himself, "since you already know who we are no point in introducing ourselves. Let's get along from now on." He says to her.

That's how my first day of college went with no clue that the girl I just saved was the starting point of my success.
