Chapter 164: Black Tower Part Three

[AN: Bonus Chapter 4/5]

From Kana's mouth, a blast of flames flowed out, spreading outwards as Kana's body suddenly rocketed in the air. Once she saw the clearing of the last step, Kana cut off her flames and twisted her body as she began to fall, aiming for that top step. What surprised Kana the most was how light her body felt as soon as she crossed the edge of the top step. She easily swung around and landed lightly on the tip of her toes as if she was a leaf in the wind that had gently settled onto the ground. "Haha! No more pressure!" Kana laughed out loud. After so many hours of dealing with the pressure weighing down on her, she was finally released from that hell.

Kana wiped the sweat from her brow and lightly aired out her shirt. She felt disgusted with how sticky she was from sweating. But compared to her last life, this was simply nothing. " Okay, now where is the promised buffet?"

Kana looked around, and the only thing around her was a large double door that towered above her. "Aoi, how is it? Do you still feel the power coming from inside?"

"Mmm… It seems to be even more powerful now. But I do not feel that it is one of my kind. It is a strange power." Aoi replied. She actually wanted to know what this power actually was.

"Then let's go in then. I already went above and beyond to get here. I will not give up now, even if I have to starve for a few days. Although I may cry… No, I will definitely cry." Kana pouted slightly as she knew she had no food left and there was nothing around to eat. She hated benign hungry the most.

With her determination pushing her forward, Kana walked up to the large doors and pushed hard first to test to see which way the door would move. Luckily this time, the door turned inwards and opened easily.

As the door with its old weathered wood opened, the dimly lit room on the other side came into view. Surprisingly enough, there were lights on the inside that seemed to be fueled by magic. Kana looked around at the dust covered old furniture and statues that decorated the inside. Each item was overly large and was definitely not made for a normal sized being. "I guess a race of giants lived here?" Kana asked her question out loud.

What was surprising was that Kana did not find this place scary at all. The interior, although untouched and uncleaned, did not give off the air of a place that would be haunted. Only the outside did. When Kana reached the middle of the room, the light of the place began to grow brighter and brighter, completely illuminating the entire first floor. This allowed Kana to get a better look at the decor and what drew Kana's eyes was the status of two legged beings with large horns on their heads carrying massive weapons. Some looked like swordsmen, while others looked like mages. Each one seemed as if they were trying to show off how majestic they were. At the base of the statues were strange engravings that Kana could only guess to be words. Unfortunately, she could not read what they said.

The last thing that caught Kana's eye the most was the white pedestal that was standing at the top of the split staircase that overlooked the main room. On top of it was a blue orb that hovered slightly in the air with a dim blue glow coming off of it. Kana couldn't contain her curiosity as she climbed up the huge steps and onto the platform. Luckily these stairs were normal, with no pressure weighing down on those climbing them. When she reached the top, she looked up at the huge pedestal in front of her and felt pressured by the blue orb that gently floated there.

As she gazed at the blue orb, it suddenly shown with a bright light and shot a beam of light into the air. A massive figure stood tall in the air above Kana and looked down at her. But instead of looking at her with a menacing look, the figure that resembled an old man with pointy ears and large horns on his heads smiled gently at Kana. "To think after so many millions of years, the one to pass the first trial and enter this tower would not be one of my own race but that of a sub race. But even still, as it is the duty of my race to lead the younger generation to its glory, I will uphold this duty and pass down the first reward for passing the Trial of Ascension.

"Since you are not of my race, I will probably need to explain what the Trial of Ascension is. This trial was created to pass down a legacy that will help bypass some of the system restraints that are imposed upon those who own a system. This will not only greatly increase a person's chances of becoming a god and entering the realm of gods but also greatly increase your chances to enter the place that lies beyond the realm of gods.

"From the day you are born, you are granted a system that will allow you a path to becoming a god. It is up to you whether you will live your life fighting against the wills of the world, risking your life over and over again fighting powerful beings in order to gain the experience needed to level up. But the binding of the system also does not allow a person such an easy ride as they are bound by their race, class, and the range of elements they are able to use.

"To counter this binding, my race, the Gratoirans, were able to create a method that once instilled with the knowledge that will allow one to overstep the bindings of the system and use all elementals. that is the first binding. There are three trials and three bindings. Only those who passed the three trials will become true masters of their own fate." The old Grantoiran man explained as he paused for a moment before asking: "Any questions so far?"

Kana looked at the old Grantoiran, blinked her eyes, and asked: "You got any food here?"
