Chapter 2: 2

2 : Make Avatar

Next day, Friday noon.

I logged into “Curse Nightmare Party.”

“Now then…”

Around me was a pitch black space with only a floating white foothold. The first thing to do was to input my real name and a measurement of brain waves.

Instead of ID and password, this system was relatively common in full dive VR games nowadays. Which is why I inputted my real name, Taruzaru Ui, in the name field and had my brain waves evaluated.

“Welcome, Taruzaru Ui-sama”

After entering my name, a man in a well-made butler suit appears out of nowhere.

Somehow, it seemed devilish, as if I shouldn’t easily trust it.

“I, am Taruzaru-sama’s avatar creation AI support. C7-096 is what I am called. I will only be with you during this occasion, but I look forward to working with you.”

“Umm, please treat me well.”

Application of AI was often the case with MMOs that held large amounts of data.

Or perhaps I should say, the world isn’t small enough to where it could be manually managed by humans.

“Your courteous response is much appreciated. Now then, first, please indicate the name that Taruzaru-sama will be using on the ‘other side.”

“Ah, okay.”

C7-096 responds to my words with a smile, but it somehow makes my alertness rise instead.

Maybe it’s because the other party is too handsome.

For the time being, let’s just input the PC name.

“-Taru- it is then. Are there any mistakes?”

“No, no mistakes.”

“There are no prohibited characters or conflicts. The name has been accepted. Well then, from here on, will it be okay to call you ‘Taru-sama?”

“Sure, no problem”

The origin of the PC name was taken from my real surname.

There’s no twist to it or anything, thinking of a spin on my name would be tiresome so this is fine.

“Thank you very much. Now, let’s move on to making Taru-sama’s avatar. Because of the specifications of the game’s system, we advise you to make your body as close to reality as possible… That was quick.”

“It’s because the real game starts here.”

“I see.”

A mirror materializes and a deformed appearance of the real life me displays in its reflection.

Even if you tweak the height or size of each body part here, it doesn’t change much, so I refrain from tampering with it any further. I proceed before C7-096 finishes speaking.

“Well then, it’s the crucial moment that Taru-san spoke of. Let’s apply the curse.”

“Okay.”

Now, from here on out is the decisive part of “CNP’s” avatar creation.

“There are three methods of applying the curse. Auto, Semi-auto, and Manual.”

“Details?”

“Auto will be completely random. For Semi-auto, I will ask a few questions and create the avatar according to the answers. Manual will allow Taru-sama to create freely. Furthermore it’s possible to combine the various methods. There is also no difference in the available curses when choosing any of these approaches.

“I see. Then, I’ll start off with Semi-auto and choose Manual afterwards for fine tuning.”

“Certainly.”

It seems like the types of curses you can put on your avatar goes over 100. Considering that, there would be tens of thousands or hundreds of millions of combinations.

If that’s the case, starting off the foundation with questions and then revising it would lead to a more faster and personal creation.

“Then, Taru-sama, please answer these questions with honesty.”

“If I’ll be able to answer them.”

C7-096’s smile deepens.

Yeah, I understand.

The questioning has already started hasn’t it!

“What is something you like?”

“Something unknown, or possibly, a tale.”

Well now, let’s answer seriously from here on.

“What is your favorite food?”

“Eggs maybe? Ah, chicken eggs then.”

“What is your favorite animal?”

“Nothing in particular.”

“Do you believe that magic exists?”

“I think if it existed, that would be interesting.”

“Can you wield a weapon?”

“Nn-, Impossible. I never handled one in real life and I also haven’t touched any other full dive VRs.”

“What do you think of me?”

“Kind of suspicious-looking.”

“Oh my, how disappointing, even though I’ve been attending to you so sincerely.”

“It seems like this conduct is done on purpose, but suspicious things are still suspicious, which fits this game is what I think.”

You are reading story Curse Nightmare Party – Jagan Yousei ga Yuku VRMMO at novel35.com

“What do you think of people who risk their life trying to accomplish something?”

“I think its wonderful as long as it doesn’t involve me. If it does involve me, then I’d like to have my own voice in the matter, then maybe we could cooperate.”

“Do you think you could have fun in this world?”

“Who knows?”

“Your tone’s turned bad hasn’t it?”

“Ah, un, yes. I guess it’s something that adapts to people and the circumstances.”

“Would you want to fly in the sky?”

“Absolutely”

“I see. That’s all, the questioning has ended.”

“I understand”

As C7-096 announces the end of the questioning, the figure inside of the mirror changes.

A pair of transparent wings sprout from the back. Between the collar bone, a third eye emerges. It is slightly floating in midair.

In brief, it was a fairy that was a little bit evil.

It’s definitely strange enough, however…..

“Nn-?”

I couldn’t help but tilt my head.

How should I say this, It feels like the impression it gives off isn’t enough.

“Are you dissatisfied?”

“Rather than dissatisfied, I’d say its not enough maybe?”

“I see, as expected, Taru-sama has good eyes.”

In response to my words, a written pledge appears before my eyes.

“To tell you the truth, because of the game’s system and difficulty regulation, during avatar creation, the number of curses applied is limited.”

“Hee-, on that note, if I sign this covenant, the restriction will be lifted.”

“It doesn’t mean it’s unlimited, but it’ll at least become an avatar that better matches Taru-sama”

This is a devil’s temptation.

Was what I clearly felt when I glanced at C7-096’s words and face.

Moreover, if you summarized the contents of the page, it was something like “The game’s progression will become considerably difficult and in some cases, it might even be impossible. Even then, are you still okay with that?”

In short, it was a matter where it was highly likely to become disadvantaged and very unlikely to be advantaged.

“That’s nice, how wonderful.”

“Then?”

“Let’s agree to it. If I took the easy path here, I’d be lying to my own words which seeked the unknown.”

“What magnificent spirit, Taru-sama”

My signature was written down on the pledge and a copy of it was sent to machine while the original was tucked into C7-096’s pocket.

Thus, my form inside the mirror transformed.

The transparent wings that were once a pair were now three of each side for a total of six. The new eye I had was no longer only on my clavicle. My 6 wing tips, both the back of my hands, and insteps produced eyes as well. Including my previous eyes, it became a total of 13 eyes, which began to shine in rainbow colors.

My hair that was black, turned into an orange color and the length which was down to my waist was cut to my shoulders. My skin also became slightly paler.

Aa, it’s strange-looking.

How truly wonderful, at a glance, it appears evil.

There was an avatar that felt like it seemed to fit me within a world drowned in curses.

“Are you satisfied with the result, Taru-sama?”

“Yes, completely satisfied. With this, fine tuning seems unnecessary even.”

Just in case, I assessed the avatar in various directions with the mirror to check if there was anything wrong, but there was nothing that I didn’t like.

As such, I pressed the button to finish creating my avatar.

“Now then, Taru-sama, this is when your cursed life will begin. Please, enjoy it to your heart’s content.”

As soon as I press the button, my body outside of the mirror starts to change to match the figure inside it.

While that happens, the mirror, the ground, and the surrounding darkness shatters.

C7-096 faces me and bows.

“Please be afraid of this fearsome world.”

As I look over at C7-096’s face with my newly increased number of eyes, for an instant, my consciousness was cut off and I was born in the world of『CNP』

≪Title,『Spawn Of Jugemu』has been acquired≫

“Right, I’ll fully entertain you to your heart’s content.”

Come now, let’s begin the tale of an abnormal person.
