There were many things Shane and Princess Ilya had to do, but the most important was to figure out the exact situation of the Karn kingdom.
Based on the information they had acquired inside the city, it was said that the Karn kingdom's forces were huge and that they could easily eliminate everyone.
However, after giving it some thought, Shane felt it would be unlikely because the number of lesser Demons that had attacked with the demon beasts was small.
If they had a huge army they would have just overwhelmed the city, and eliminated the biggest threat; Yan and the devil ritual altar!
But then, Shane and Ilya didn't know whether the Myn kingdom was the biggest threat in the first place!
Were there other forces that had been visited by the Devil too? What was the Devil's plan, and why was he trying to demonize other races?
Too many questions swirled in Shane's head, and he had to focus on the most important task. Otherwise, he might lose himself in the complexity of the Dungeon's third task.
It was ridiculous how dangerous and difficult the third floor was. However, on the other hand, the rewards must be extremely great.
At the same time, the number of dungeon challengers must have been drastically lowered, which was probably the reason for the third floor's high difficulty.
That only meant that the fourth floor's rewards must be even higher as the dungeon would only reward those who had survived dangerous tasks and previous floors while increasing the level of difficulty to a higher degree along with unique rewards.
Shane was not sure what kinds of rewards he should hope for because he could receive lots of things.
But, one thing was for sure.
His combat prowess was not high enough yet!!
This was the biggest issue he had right now.
Despite a perfect physique for all three stages and a mana purity of [75%] in addition to other external factors that allowed him to survive attacks of an Overlord beast, Shane felt way too weak.
This might be his obsessiveness in becoming stronger, or simply his impatience. As such, he had to calm down.
It was only when Umbra notified him about their arrival at the borders of the Myn kingdom that was patrolled by scouts of multiple races, that Shane regained his senses.
'It's good that we are at the corner of the intersection of the Karn, Myn, and Har kingdom!'
"Let's take a look at the Har and Karn kingdom's relationship!"
With that being said, he actively used his [Eagle Eyes] by inserting more mana into them.
His eyesight was enhanced, allowing him to see almost everything at a distance of one kilometer down to the finest detail.
Thus, he was able to see the facial expressions of the Lesser demon scouts and the beasts like the Jasc race that looked like a cross between a jaguar and a human-like being.
Shane tried to read their expressions, with his main focus on their eyes.
Thus, he was able to perceive that the Har and Karn kingdom seemed to be hostile, yet not at war with each other.
It was difficult to describe the tense relationship of the kingdoms, but both sides seemed to be vigilant of each other. Despite the rivalry, nobody released a thick killing intent or the desire to thirst for blood!
As such, when Umbra, who had Shane and Ilya on his back, arrived at the borders, with Cosmo running around, they attracted a lot of attention.
At that moment, Shane noticed something he had not expected.
Both the Karn and Har kingdom scouts unsheathed their weapons and were ready to fight with their life on the line.
'...Is the Myn Kingdom at war with both the Har and Karn kingdom?? But that doesn't make sense...at all! They need the demon blood, and not the blood of beast-like beings...or am I wrong?'
Shane's confusion was visible, but instead of mulling on it any further, he stood up from Umbra's back, enhanced his vocal organs with mana as he shouted,
"We are a small adventurer group that has traveled through the Myn kingdom and we mean no harm!"
The scouts of both kingdoms halted in their tracks. Umbra saw this as a sign to be allowed to advance further, and it was only when a Har scout smelled something that he shouted out.

"If you mean no harm, why is the blood of demons lingering around you and your companions?!"
No sooner had he spoken these words, the lesser demon scouts roared out and were about to attack in wrath, but Shane hastily replied.
"There was a misunderstanding. Please don't attack! We were inside Arj, the Aras city with the big cathedral, and witnessed a few things!"
Once Shane had said that he added while mumbling, "We even destroyed the cathedral and the demonizing ritual altar…"
The lesser demon scouts' sharp ears picked everything Shane had said, and their anger subsided a little bit.
They stopped with their advances and took a deep breath to calm themselves down.
Since the last few months, they had always been on the edge, and the tension within and around them had been getting on their nerves.
Suddenly, one of the lesser demon scouts that radiated the strongest mana fluctuations stepped forward.
With a hoarse voice that was filled with threats he asked,
"What was the misunderstanding and why did you destroy the cathedral? It's not like this has anything to do with an ordinary adventurer team, right??"
Clearing his throat, Shane struggled to find the right words, only to take the easiest, yet most dangerous path.
"We have witnessed how a small troupe of lesser demons and their demon beast subordinates attacked the Arj city….and we attacked them.
Only later did we find out what kind of beings the Ara race were. We have our own issue with devils. As such, there was no way we could have stayed idle!
I would like to apologize for attacking your troops, and I know there is no excuse for this…"
He was sincerely apologetic, but the lesser demon scout seemed to be confused as Shane heard him ask something to one of his subordinates.
"The military hasn't issued an attack on the Arj city, right? How come there were lesser demons? Was it the unit that had deserted, but that makes no sense!"
Shane remained silent despite having been able to understand the demon scout.
"We accept your apology. If the cathedral and devil ritual altar had been destroyed, it's an achievement worth celebrating!
Furthermore, I doubt that the few scouts of ours are enough to kill the horned darkness snake, let alone everyone else.
I think our leaders would like to listen to the information you could provide. If it's not too much to ask for, may the adventurer team follow one of our scouts to the closest city?
If it's inappropriate, please ignore what I've asked, but it would be important for the survival of the entire Karn kingdom!"
Other than nodding, Shane said nothing as he transmitted Umbra the thought of advancing further.
The scouts of the Har kingdom remained silent and didn't say anything anymore.
Rather than that, they eyed Cosmo, who was manifesting and using spatial portals as if he was playing around.
This was exactly what Cosmo was doing, and Shane had to give his utmost efforts to ignore Cosmo, who was entirely oblivious to the scouts who had stared at them with the intention to kill them any moment before!
'Why can't I have normal beasts as my companions...is that too much to ask for?'
