“What I’m about to tell you is something that you should absolutely not tell a single soul!” While the guildmaster was trying to talk to us with ease, the attitude suddenly changed in his voice, showing how serious he was trying to be.
“A week ago, I received classified information from the king about the town next to us.” The guildmaster crossed his fingers together as he continued explaining to us. “There’s been something unusual going on in that town which led us to this position.”
“Unusual activity?” I asked once again, trying to understand the real meaning behind those words.
“Yeah, that's what we wanted to call it as we still haven't found the main reason behind it.”
“Wait, what do you mean by this unusual activity?” Theresa asked in a bit of confusion as she couldn't understand where he was trying to go with this kind of information.
I was trying to pick up every little information since I still wasn't sure what was considered weird or common in this world.
“Haaa…” The guildmaster stood up as he looked out of his window for a bit. “Explaining this from the beginning would be much easier for me to say to you…” There was another gap of silence as the guildmaster looked back at us.
He seemed really frustrated about this…
“I got a letter from the king saying that many people are going missing without proper explanation. ”
“Without explanation? Didn't the guild in that town try and look this through before getting the king worked up? Or is it perhaps that…”
“That is right, the guild wasn’t giving a proper answer to us." The guildmaster replied to me after coming into realization.
“That means that the guild is either included behind those people missing, or… they were already affected by it as well.” I thought out loud about this situation as both of the girls beside me looked a little shocked.
“What could’ve caused such a thing to happen to those people?” Theresa asked with a little anger after knowing that people had gone missing.
But the guildmaster quietly stared at us after he let out another sigh. “I immediately sent out some of my well known adventurers there… ”
“T-they didn’t succeed?” Aya wondered, worried as she was trying to guess what might've happened to them.
“They never returned…”
Both Theresa and Aya widened their eyes, astonished, scared or even anxious to know what could’ve caused the disappearance of some well known adventurers without a single trace.
“So, you basically want us to go and investigate what happened to those adventurers?” I asked, trying to confirm whether I was right.
“Yeah, that's why–” But before the guildmaster could finish talking, knocking sounds were heard from the door.
“Guildmaster, they are here as well.” The same voice that brought us here was heard once again, waiting for the guildmaster's response.
“Perfect timing. Bring them inside.”
“Then if you'll excuse us.” The receptionist opened the door, only for a group of four adventurers to enter.
“You?”
“Why is he here?”
“What may you be doing here?”
The first one’s to see me and act like that, was none other than Kaito’s harem together with him who was a bit surprised to see me here.
“Hiroki?” He called out to me as soon as he saw me sitting on the sofa together with Aya and Theresa.
“You already know each other? Then this will make things much easier to explain.” The guildmaster leaned back on his seat, a little relieved on making this easier to explain. “Kaito, Hiroki. Starting from tomorrow, both of your parties are joining forces in order to figure out what is going on to Amberlight”
“I’ve prepared a special transportation method for tomorrow. You should prepare yourselves early in the morning at the main gate of the city.” The guildmaster explained to us.
“H-hold on, we can’t possibly work with them?!” The red haired girl who was wearing revealing clothes annoyingly complained to him.
“They’ve already agreed on joining this quest, so there’s no backing out anymore.” The guildmaster explained once again.
While me on the other hand was looking at Kaito who seemed to be thinking about something.
But I had to say… I should’ve expected that he was going to be in this quest since he easily defeated the monster that both me and my party couldn’t kill. He also carelessly mentioned some information about this quest to some stranger.

"What do you think we should do? We have the whole day free." Theresa was walking on my left side as she asked.
"How about we look around this city together. I've never been here, so looking around for a bit won't hurt." I suggested as we were aimlessly walking around.
"You mean like… a date?" Theresa asked once again while her eyes sparked with a little of expectation.
"You could say that."
I wanted to learn a bit more how advanced this world actually was since I didn't know when I was going to disappear. And my behavior was already suspicious to many people that I have met..
"A date…" She repeated as she looked on the ground.
"I want to go on a date with Hiroki too!" Aya stubbornly complained after hearing my suggestion.
She may have misunderstood something, but I planned on going around the town together with Aya and Theresa since I didn't want to make any of them feel left out.
"I never said that you weren't coming with us." A smile appeared on her face the moment I told her that.
And as we were wandering around the town, we had plenty of time to waste and money to spend, so neither of the girls hesitated to check out different shops.
While Theresa was interested in different weapon shops, Aya on the other hand couldn't help but try and taste different foods that were being sold.
"Oho, you have some good eyes, young girl." The old shop owner said with a smirk on his face after seeing that Theresa was looking at a pair of silver bracelets.
"How are they used in a fight?" Theresa asked in a little confusion as she couldn't understand why a piece of jewelry was in this shop.
"Hoho, they aren't ordinary bracelets, young girl. If you put them on, not only will they increase your speed but also the full potential of your own strength." Theresa looked surprised to see that such bracelets existed. And based on her reaction, that means she actually is interested in them.
"Can I see them for a bit?" I asked.
"Why of course." He smiled as I got the chance to see those effects for myself.

Wait, the shop owner never mentioned anything about these bonus effects. This must be a hidden effect that he didn't notice.
"Oho, you have appraisal skill?" The old man asked in a bit of surprise.
"Yeah, just wanted to check something."
“Hoho, you can see for yourself that I'm not scamming you. I have the real deal.” The old man smirked even more as he was waiting for my reaction.
“How much are these?” I asked, making Theresa a bit surprised about my sudden interest.
“Each one of them are 30 gold coins. It is a bit pricey but the effects are worth it. So what do you say?” With the face of someone who was trying to tease us about the money, the old man continued smirking.
“I’ll buy them.”
And his smile slowly changed into a surprised one once I got out a bag of money from Aya’s jacket and placed it on his desk.
“There’s a total amount of 60 gold coins inside that bag. Feel free to count them.” I said to that shop owner once he saw the bag of money.
“C-cerently sir!” The old man began counting the coins as fast as he could while sweat was coming out of his forehead. Even the way he was treating us suddenly changed.
“Hatsuko, why did you buy them? They are way too expensive for some bracelets. Did you really need them that much?” Theresa asked, a bit confused about my actions.
“I didn’t buy them for myself since I can’t really use them.” And from what I said, confused her even more since she knew that I couldn't touch anything physical.
“Then why?”
“Huh? What do you mean, ‘why?’ I bought them for you.”
Theresa was taken aback from my answer while giving the bracelets to her as a gift.
“You looked like you wanted those bracelets, that's why I bought them for you.”
Complex feelings were going through Theresa’s face as she didnt know how to react to that.
“Tomorrow we might be encountering something even more powerful compared to the battle yesterday, that's why these bracelets will provide you with more buffs in case you are in danger.” Since I didn’t want to give away the secret effects of the bracelets to the shop owner, I decided to let Theresa know about it later. For now, she should basically be ready to use them whenever she wants for as long as she's wearing them.
“O-oh, right.. The quest for tomorrow…” But somehow, Theresa seemed a little disappointed after taking the bracelets that I bought them for her.
“Thank you for your purchase, good sir.”
While ignoring the grinning old man, Aya was also looking at me all jealous as she was expecting a gift from me as well.
“How much are those rings?” I asked while pointing at the rings that I thought were nice.
“Hoho, sir, you really do have nice eyes. Those rings are also magical rings that can provide you with both luck and charm to the ones you love. It can also bring out more willpower to the feminime side of a woman. They are quite famous around female adventurers, and I can confirm that they work really well.” As he was explaining those stuff to me, my eyes caught a silver looking ring that stood out from the rest of the rings provided.

Name: Blessing of Goddess of Love.
Basic Information: The following ring provides…
| +200 luck/charm |

I can see that this ring can be quite useful in case Aya is under a sudden attack, not to mention the special effects it has as a bonus.
“I’m taking that one.”
After buying another expensive item from that shop, we decided to go somewhere and eat lunch.
But before I could leave the shop, that old man said to me. "Don't carelessly use appraisal."
"Because it's rare?"
The old man nodded at my response.
"It's a legendary skill that only a few chosen people have. And I won't lie to you that some of them were turned into slaves by merchants for their greedy needs." His voice got quieter as he was trying not to get heard by anyone else.
"Thanks for your advice. I'll be sure to visit your shop again when I get the chance." I said as I turned around in order to leave.
"Please do so."
.
While we were on our way to a nice looking tavern, Aya was obsessed with the ring that I bought for her. She kept looking at it on different angles
“Seems like she really loves it.” Theresa’s calm voice softly spoke as we were walking..
“Yeah. but she deserves much more than that. Before I met her, she was already going through a lot of stuff. ”
Theresa’s eyes shifted towards me, curious to know the story behind me and Aya.
“Is that the reason you care about her so much?” Interested to learn more about this, Theresa glanced at her own braceleted with a bitter look on her face.
“No…” I looked back at Theresa who seemed unsure about something. “This may sound stupid, but even though I’m basically dead, her kindness helped me step outside of the darkness I was filling myself up…”
“So she’s already this far ahead of me, huh…” She said with a disheartened look on her face. She almost seemed like she wanted to take one step behind me and Aya.
“I don’t think you’ve noticed but. I don’t usually buy gifts for anyone just for their stats alone, you know.”
“Heh…?” She showed a bewildered look on her face before looking back at me. “You mean?”
“Oh come one? Should I tell you this bluntly? I care about you as much as I do about Aya!”
Surprised by my sudden bold statement, Theresa looked back at me with her ravishing eyes as her cheeks slightly blushed.

It was already morning. Meaning that it was finally time for the girls to wake up and get ready.
Since we didn't know what might happen to that town, we had gotten plenty of stuff. Starting from a few bottles of coffee we had left, some other potions we bought, and the new stuff I bought for Aya and Theresa.
“Do you have everything you need?” I asked as I was looking at the sun slowly warm up the lands in this cold morning.
“”Yes!””
“Let's get this done.”

From what I heard from the guild, we were supposed to meet with the others at the gate of the city. He mentioned something about finding a method of transportation.
From what I can guess, it wouldn’t be horses or carriages since he would’ve said so.
“Is that a…” Theresa coulnt bring herself to finish her sentence the moment she glanced her eyes upon the object that was going to be our transport.
And my answer was finally answered the moment I gazed at the fancy wooden ship that was left on dry land at the entrance of the gate.
From what I could see, there were no lakes or sea around the whole town, so there was no way for us to go to the other town by sailing on the ship.
This would’ve taken way too long to even bring this ship here, so that leaves me with one last guess…
“A flying boat.”
Theresa looked at me the moment I said that outloud.
“You’ve seen one before?” Theresa asked while Aya was excitedly looking at it.
“No, I never knew that boats could fly in this world.”
“Well, that's a given since only the royals can use such a thing.” Theresa explained before I looked at her in realization.
“You don’t think…”
“Yeah, this was the method of transportation that the guildmaster prepared for us…”
There was a troubled, yet exciting look on Theresa’s face as she understood why the guildmaster never mentioned how we were going to the other town.
“Hiroki! Can we really go inside that thing?!” Aya’s eyes were sparkling even more in excitement as we were getting closer to the boat.
“I mean, it's our job to get there whether we like it or not.” I softly smiled at her, without making her excitement disappear from her face.
The moment we got closer to the entrance of the boat, we were immediately allowed to enter without being asked anything.
It actually felt a bit weird that none of the guards were concerned about us.
“You’re finally here!” And just like an annoying cat moaning during the night, one of Kaito’s harem members came in front of us after entering inside the boat.
It was the purpled eyed girl who wasn't ashamed of how she was revealing her skin without a care.
“...” While I stood unbothered by her harsh way of talking to me, both Theresa and Aya seemed really unpleasant by the way she treated me.
“Let's find our rooms first since we don’t know how long this flight will be.” I suggested to the angry looking Theresa and Aya who immediately softened their expression the moment I got their attention.
“That’s a great idea.”
“Yes!”
And thanks to their understanding, they also decided to ignore the frustrated looking cat that looked like it was about to explode anytime now.
“H-hey! Don’t just ignore me!” But no matter what she said, we continued walking into the hall of this boat until we found ourselves at the main room where many interiors were.
“This place is quite spacious…” Theresa’s eyes widened as she was impressed by how the design inside the boat was. It was truly a place ment for royalty since there was basically everything a person could ask for.
“Waah… I’ve never seen a room this pretty…” Aya impressively reacted, letting herself look around the room without trying to touch or break anything.
“Yeah, this place is–'' Suddenly, from behind us I felt someone getting closer, only to find a butler-like man quietly standing by…..
“Hello, sorry if I have startled you.” The butler apologized as he softly closed his eyes.
“You are?” Theresa asked.
“I’m the person who’s been in charge of guiding you during the trip to Amberlight. You may refer to me in case you need anything.” The butler-like man responded back with a calm tone in his voice.
The way he talks and acts almost feels like some kind of character I knew… And I wouldn't be surprised if his name was actually Sebastian.
“If I may ask, how long will it take to arrive at Amberlight?” I asked.
“If the skies allow it, then we will be there next morning.” He calmly responded to me.
He must be talking about the weather during our flight.
I wonder if this boat can actually withstand a storm or even thunder in case we get hit by one.
“That's actually really fast! It usually takes several days to arrive there with a horse.” Theresa's voice sounded actually surprised after hearing how long the flight would take.
“Ahem” The butler cleared up his throat, getting our attention back to him. “If I may, your rooms are this way.”
.
..
…
We were settled into different rooms, but since Aya had most of our stuff, the girls decided to stay together in one room.
I was glad knowing that Theresa would be staying in the same room as Aya since we never knew what could happen during our flight.
It was still morning and the boat hadn't taken off yet, that's why me and the girls decided to go to the desk of this boat.
“I can’t wait until we set off!” Aya excitedly said as she was hanging over the edge of the boat, trying to look how high the boat actually was.
“Aya, be careful! You might fall off!” Theresa warned her as she tried supporting Aya’s body from leaning any further.
“Eeeh? I’m not going to fall off” Aya insisted as Theresa held her from leaning at the edge again.
"I see that you've arrived safely." And it didn't take long before I heard Kaito’s voice coming towards us.
"It's still morning. No one is going to attack us when there are dozens of guards around. Don't you think so?" I pretended to put my hands in my pockets as I took one step forward so both of the girls could stay behind me.
"That is indeed true. They always act during the night, or somewhere where no one can see them. But leaving that aside, I hope that we'll get along just fine during this quest." A smile appeared on his face as he reached out his hand for me to shake.
I simply looked at it for a second before saying back. "Yeah, likewise." I walked past him as both me and the girls were trying to find a better spot to see the ship take off. "Hopefully this will be our last."
And after I continued walking past him, saving myself from getting exposed, I noticed how Kaito was looking at his own hand for a moment.
"Was it okay to be so cold with him?" Theresa worriedly asked about my actions.
"I'm not sure… I was saving myself from getting exposed, would be my answer, but… I get weird feelings every time I am near that guy. I can't explain it, that's why I hate it."
"Is that the reason you don't like him?" Aya innocently asked after hearing my conversation with Theresa.
"Perhaps… But the way he's always that quiet… is quite worrisome…"
As we began watching the amazing view of this ship taking off, I noticed Kaito and his harem that were on the other side of the deck.
I tried ignoring him while me and Aya were looking as we were getting higher and higher to the point where we could even see clouds getting larger.
"How can both of you be so calm?"
“...”
But there was someone else who didn't seem to feel like us.
Theresa was sitting down on her butt as she was holding herself on a piece of rope.
"Aya, I'll help Theresa go back to her room. When you're done, make sure to let me know." I told Aya as I let her enjoy the view for a bit longer.
"Okay!"
I helped Theresa get up by keeping her arm around my neck so she wouldn't trip.
"Sorry about this…" Theresa's face became pale as cold sweat was dripping down her face.
She's already getting sick?
"Don't worry about it."
After making sure that Theresa wasn't puking or even falling unconscious yet, I hurried and let her rest in her own room.
"Hiroki…" Her faint voice called out to me.
"Hm?" I looked back at her before I could get out of the room.
"Could you perhaps… stay a little with me… a little longer?" Her eyes had softened down from the flight as she requested.
"Yeah." And since I didn't know when her situation would get worse, I decided to stay with her until she fell asleep.
.
Some hours had passed and both me and Aya were staying in Theresa's room.
While she was feeling sick earlier, right now she barely had any strength on her body. Not to mention that she puked a few times…
Right now, Aya was stroking Theresa’s hair as a way to calm her down while trying to make her forget that we were hundreds of meters up in the sky.
"There, there. It's almost over." Calmly said Aya with her soft voice of an angel as she gently rubbed her head.
.
..
While I was trying to enjoy this rare moment, the ship began shaking continuously to the point I thought that something must have happened.
"Aya, keep an eye on Theresa. I'll go and see what happened!" I said to her before leaving the room.
"Y-yeah!"
And while I was hurrying back to the deck, I found Kaito in a fighting position with his sword out in his hand.
"What's the situation?" I asked.
"A sky dragon." He replied back without budging his eyes away from the clouds that were surrounding this ship.
"W-what happened?" From behind us also came the other girls in a hurry.
“Get ready! It's coming!” All three of the girls took out their weapons and magic wands as they began watching the area around the deck.
“Where are the other cruit members of this ship?” I quietly asked as I got near Kaito so I wouldn't cause any noise.
This whole place was already quiet and I knew that we were going to attract the dragon if we made any sudden noise.
“I ordered them to stay in the main cockpit of the ship.” His eyes were looking around the fog that was getting much denser as time was passing by.
I was thinking of getting rid of the fog by warming up our surroundings with fire, but after thinking this through I decided not to do such a thing as it would expose our position to the dragon.
“....”
“It's way too quiet…” The red haired girl whispered before right in front of our eyes, a figure of an object with blue scales that seemed like a tail passed through the fog.
“What is it doing?” The priest asked, realizing that her own hand was trembling a little.
“It's observing the ship.” I could actually see where the dragon was actually flying. And I knew that it was coming around the ship for a certain reason.
I don’t know how sky dragons acted, but it seemed like another intelligent monster since it was trying to understand our positions and size. "It’s trying to know its enemies that have crossed its territory."
“You can see where it is?” Katio asked as he was preparing for the next attack.
“Not particularly… but I can feel where it's going, and oh boy, is it angry?”
A grin formed on his face as he took some steps near the edge of the ship.
“But right now, It’s anger is going to be our last problem…” Said Kaito as he swung his sword, causing the fog around us to fade away.
“W-wah?!”
“Are those…”
“Wyvers!”
Cold sweat was running down the girls’ faces as they saw the sky around us filled with hundreds of different wyverns.
“This might be a lot harder…” Said Kaito after realizing that the sky dragon wasn’t our only problem.
Was the fog preventing me from sensing the other wyverns?
Even if it took a powerful adventurer, this ship was not going to land safely. Is what I thought at that moment as I was trying to think of a plan on how we can get away safely since I couldn't risk having Theresa and Aya get injured.
“I have a plan.” I spoke as Kaito and his girls were about to engage the closest wyvern.
"What is it?" Replied the gray haired girl after all of the other members of the party turned their attention to me.
"It might be risky, but if we work together we can at least get away safely with minor damages." But as I was about to explain to them my plan, the whole ship shook again from something hitting it
"You might wanna hurry with your plan." Said Kaito after managing to keep his balance together with the girls.
"Firstly, we're gonna need some kind of protection for the surface of the deck."
"This will drain my skills but I can create a holy barrier for a few minutes." Said the priest.
"Next, I'm gonna need someone who will protect the back of the ship."
The red haired annoying girl looked at me before saying. "I hate to listen to you, but I'll take care of that part of the ship." And that's when she ran off to the other side of the ship.
"Kaito and... you. Eliminate anything that comes close to the ship. I'll take care of the rest."
"What do you…" The gray haired girl wondered what I was talking about as I began floating above the ship, leaving everyone behind.
Some of them might probably be confused… but I can explain this to them as being part of my special skill.
Telling them that I'm a ghost was my last concern right now.
But anyway…
"Where should I even begin…" I let out a sigh as I was seeing many of the wyverns approaching me.
