Chapter 64: Chapter 54: Making up (sadly not out)

The young purple haired dragoness slowly fell to her right knee in front of the teary cow.

A confident but worried smile upon her face while she slowly reached up with her right hand to gently pinch the cow's chin. Lifting her chin before using her own finger to wipe the tears from the girl's sleepy eyes; even though those plain brown eyes were red due to her tears they looked like the most beautiful of gems to the dragon. Turning on the charms Eel began to speak in her usual tone.

“Listen, I understand your worries and totally sympathise, Mil. Just like you worry about me being endangered by some tricky scheme I also worry that… I worry!” <Eel>

Emily who was staring looking straight into Eel’s eyes saw the moment they went from clear confidence in her methods, confusion then upon finding a solution certainty. It was all very clear to the Cow. How long had she spent taking advantage of every moment of time admiring this dragon? Even she wasn’t quite sure of numbers but she had long seared every pour of the dragoness’ face into her mind. She was well aware of all the emotions going on as those beautiful grey eyes shifted around; resulting in one simple reaction.

“Pfff we finally found something you're bad at…” <Emily>

She simply couldn’t hold it in and ended up giggling wildly at the dragon's terrible attempt to calm her worries. Elizabeth Jr Bloodleaf the person who charged straight towards anything that threatens her, worried? The only thing she imagined Eel would be worried about is whether she wants her next meal charred black till it looks like coal or so raw that it is still bleeding.

Well another worry may be that people get in her way while she’s trying to hunt but that was more annoying than it was worrying. She just didn’t have the same worries as a regular person so her trying to comfort someone about something she didn’t even understand was nothing short of funny to the cow. Of course, Eel didn’t find it funny so began to pout while crossing her arms in front of her chest.

“I’m sure I can think of something if you just give me a minute. Anyway it’s not as if I meant to use that power. I just happened to tap into it when being upset that I couldn’t hurt Jeeves at all which could also be considered a worry! But - when I was thinking about that and how annoying the adventurers were - it just kind of happened.” <Eel>

Taking a long deep breath before letting it out once again; Emily decided to let the dragon off the hook for now. Although she was certain the dragon would do something ‘silly’ again it could be said she should’ve expected it. Even if Eel got herself into trouble she would just follow after her and support her… More a matter of ‘when’ than ‘if’.

That being the case she decided to get up and begin to walk back towards the village while also trying to get to the bottom of Eel’s new power.

“So… What was it exactly? Is that all you know - no memories or anything else?” <Emily>

“Hm~ well there was a voice of a girl.” <Eel>

“What did it say?” <Emily>

“Said they were annoying bugs that should be squashed - also about despising weaklings who don’t know their place!” <Eel>

What could she say about that one? Quite clearly that certain ancestor of hers had a ‘strong personality’ but one way or another it seemed things worked out? It was concerning that the power damaged her just as much as it did those she hurt but Emily had faith that Eel could figure it all out on her own. One way or another Eel had always managed so Emily would just have to admire her while she did.

While having that thought Eel did a somewhat surprising move - diving over Emily’s back to have her hands hug around the cows neck while resting her head weary on her shoulder. She didn’t say anything or do anything. All she did was silently take in the little cows warmth like a needy child and Emily didn’t say anything in response; merely glancing down as blood filled her cheeks.

“I have one worry…” <Eel>

“W-what…” <Emily>

“One day I’ll wake up only to find you aren’t by my side. I don’t just think of you but also Leaf… I wish we didn’t have to leave her behind but she can’t exactly leave now she’s tied to the cradle as it’s carer. I miss her Emily so I need you to always be by my side so I have someone to hug and love and never let go…” <Eel>

The succubus couldn’t respond but just did what any young girl would do. Shudder softly with a violent blush, looking at her own feet while occasionally tripping over herself due to her own nervousness. Despite that she was very much tamed by the dragon as a small little smile flashed on her lips. It wasn’t big but if Eel saw it she could proclaim it to be the greatest treasure of all.

“S-so why do you think Jeeves actually didn’t follow?” <Emily>

Eel didn’t respond for a while though.

It took very little time for the two to arrive back in the village but it seemed word got around very quickly as nobody got in her way this time around. Honestly Eel was a bit confused about why there were so many adventurers around the place but it seemed there were a lot of herbs. Not to mention it seemed like a good place to gain jobs from either {Evergreen} or {Orrid} since it wasn’t too important but also close enough for them.

None of it important to Elizabeth Jr though since she didn’t really care for this war…

She would certainly prefer {Evergreen} to win it but she had no intentions to go out of her way to support them. If anything she’d be troubled if they did too well since she wanted to get into blows with Lord Shanta. Not to mention there was no way in hell that {Orrid Empire} was coming out of this in one piece.

If it was true that their royal family not only pissed off Mother but {Sovereign of Storms} it was a hopeless situation.

This isn’t even considering the other two surrounding countries; though {Goberz Kingdom} may remain neutral due to Chaos nature… Why would {Voluptas Theocracy} let go of the chance to gain revenge?

This was why she had no intention to rush when bringing the fight to {Orrid Empire}. Although she certainly had ‘allies’ they didn’t need her help - it would be better spending time training in the most neutral country. It would give her time to grow and maybe even have a better effect when taking part in the war. It would also let her loosen up after spending years being constantly on guard against the men (and Dark Elf) surroundings her.

Not that all men were bad… It was just ‘Orrid Men’ suited to their nationality.

With that the pair of girls arrived in front of the guild’s counter ready to report their success; occasional glances were made at them. As rude as some of them may be, it ended up being no more than a glance. There were some leers that lingered upon their butts or Eel’s large chest but they used to work as part-time workers at a brothel, they were long used to ignoring such gazes.

The girl at the counter was surprised to see the girls back so soon but before she could ask any of the obvious questions Eel just placed her card on the countertop.

“We encountered a bear while hunting and I bruised it up. They should probably move away from the village from now on; we’ll await your investigations then.” <Eel>

With that she ignored anything the girl could’ve said - expectly sliding her arm around her girl's waist - before walking out.
