Chapter 84: Chapter 84 : Tidying Up And Declaration (Part 1)

“I lost everything by betting on that sorry fuck, and after all that hype, he gets snapped in like thirty seconds.”

“What did I tell you, Ruben’s unbeatable over there, he has a surefire strat- huh, who the fuck are you?”

At Tyron’s words, Trent shifted his gaze forward and noted the approaching youth. The pair squinted at the sight. It was well known in Ganurg that one didn’t approach the Wild Dogs’ base. The whole area was controlled by them, with the plethora of houses surrounding the base all owned by Wild Dogs members.

“Me…my name is Silver, though, I also go by the name, Ralf Fawkes.” Revealing his identities, Silver lowered his scarf, allowing the pair to get a better view of his features.

“Ah,” Tyron exclaimed in shock. He had seen ‘Ralf’ before and realised Silver’s words were true. At the fact, he jolted in place and his body began tensing up.

“This really him,” Trent asked with an apprehensive voice.

Tyron nodded. “Yeah, it’s him,” he said, his Rank 3 Telekinetic Psi leaking out from his figure.

At the confirmation, Trent’s face turned white as a sheet and his lips began quivering.

Seeing his fellow gangster’s loss of composure, Tyron stepped up to the plate. After a nervous gulp, he spoke up.

“W-What’s your intention here, what business do you have with the Wild Dogs?”

He asked in a loud voice, hoping that it would catch the attention of his fellow gangsters inside.

Silver didn’t mind it, he was here for confrontation after all. “I’m here to sort out an issue that has come to my attention. You two, head back in there and bring everyone out.”

“Everyone?” Tyron’s forehead creased up.

“Yes, everyone,” Silver confirmed. “I want everyone in that building out here in front, standing before me. Fleeing from the back or sides or hiding in the building is…ill-advised.”

The pair shivered as they sensed the warning Silver’s words were laced with.

Silver showed approval at the sight. Clapping his hands, he awoke the two from their daze and said, “Hurry up, my time is precious.”

“Ah, yes.”

“Y-Yes.”

The pair blurted out, before scrambling back inside and relaying Silver’s request.

Word of ‘Ralf’s’ appearance and request spread like wildfire through the base, causing those present to break out in all sorts of emotions, with fear being the most prevalent one.

Racing upward, it soon reached Jenkin’s ears. “Huh, he’s here, in front, there’s no wa - ah?” He was quickly forced to swallow his words as his Psi Scan picked up the youth in question. ‘He’s actually here,’ capturing Silver’s figure, Jenkin’s heart turned jubilant. ‘Excellent! To jump into the fire of your own volition, you live up to your lineage, Ralf Fawkes.’

Revved up, Jenkin could remain in his chair no longer. He sprung up and after making his way to the front balcony, he leapt down, landing like a boulder on a still lake.

“Boss!”

“Boss!”

His arrival prompted a collective chant from the gang members already lined up outside. The apprehension that clouded their eyes a moment ago was beaten back as they captured the form of their powerful leader.

“I take it you’re the boss, Jenkin correct.”

Jenkin straightened his posture before saying, “Yes, I am. I take it you’re Ralf Fawkes.”

“Yes, you can call me that.”

“I see, then Ralf Fawkes, I’m interested…what purpose did you come here for?”

As raring to go as he was, there were a few questions Jenkin wanted to be answered before he ‘leapt from the edge’. ‘Black hair, different clothes, I see, no wonder his approach went undetected. He’s a crafty one. Still, why would he come here alone?’ Asking the question, Jenkin extended his Psi Scan and true to his initial conclusion, no one else could be detected within his fifty three-metre Psi Range.

“I’ll answer when everyone is out.”

Jenkin’s eyes narrowed at the response, however, where others buckled before his venomous gaze, Silver stood unaffected. The gangster’s blood boiled in anger but in the end, he managed to hold himself back.

“Everyone out!” Jenkin turned back and barked. The gangsters were spurred into action at the order and within seconds, all twenty-four members were outside, forming a half-circle around Jenkin.

“They’re all here, speak.”

Silver did one last sweep of the area. Upon confirming that everyone was out, he spoke up.

“Good. Now, for the reason I’m here. Yesterday, I encountered a group of Wild Dogs members in the forest, and items were taken from me and two other Adventurers.”

Silver’s eyes moved to a certain section of the crowd, locking onto a few individuals. “The scruffy-bearded one with the scar on his forehead and the two on either side of him, those five were in the group of ten that robbed me yesterday,” he narrowed his eyes. “Isn’t that right boys?”

Dryon and the others mentioned didn’t dare answer, and instead averted their gazes and became silent. The arrogance and swagger they radiated yesterday were nowhere to be seen at this moment.

After hearing about the Red Star Massacre that took place essentially right after running into Ralf in the forest, all ten had their bodies break out into a cold sweat with several even staining their pants and underwear when they understood how close to death they had been.

“Not answering…that’s no good,” Silver shook his head at the group’s silence before turning back to the sunken-eyed gang leader. “There are many rumours of the Wild Dogs acting in ways befitting a gang; robbing, killing, exhorting, etc. I cannot confirm every one of these rumours, but with yesterday’s incident and word from trusted sources, it’s clear that the Wild Dogs is a blight that needs to be removed.”

“Ha ha ha,” cold laughter escaped Jenkin’s throat. “After all that bullshit… you should have just led with this. So, you’re going to destroy the Wild Dogs like you supposedly did the Red Star?”

“In a way, yes.”

“In a way?”

Jenkin frowned. “What do you mean?”

“The actions I take depends on you guys and your decisions. First, I need to know a few things. Your so-called Adventurer Guild’s shady activities, are you aware of them? And if so, do you sanction them?”

‘This brat, does he think this is an interview or something.’ The questions stroked Jenkin’s anger. As it rose, his High Tier Rank 5 Telekinetic aura grew more frenzied. Jenkin’s Psi armour materialised around him. At his actions, the crowd behind him began preparing for battle as well.

“Yes or no, what’s your answer?” Silver repeated in a calm voice, unperturbed by the rally.

His insistence on an answer wasn’t due to his inability to figure it out. No, the image reflecting off his eyes told him exactly what type of person Jenkin was. While his features were more stoic, the frenzied light that swirled in the gangster’s eyes was comparable to Morris’, and the High Tier Rank 5 Telekinetic aura that violently wagged around him spoke of his wildness and intentions. Everything was clear to Silver. Still, he made sure to ask, firstly for confirmation and secondly, for effect.

*Grit*

Irritated by the repeated questions, Jenkin clicked his tongue before indulging the youth. “My answers are yes to both. Now, what are you going to do abou-”

Once the answer he sought reached his ears, Silver lost all interest in hearing more. He had all he needed, and so, decision made, he moved like lightning.

‘Wha-’

From 0 to 100!

Dematerializing his vanta Psi, Silver’s mental signal exploded out at speeds that would leave lightning envious and cleanly struck all Wild Dogs members present. It didn’t fry their brains or anything, but the suddenness and queerness of the sensation caused the gangsters to collectively freeze up.

Knowing this stunning effect was a momentary one, Silver didn’t waste any time in switching to the second step. Angling his body forward, his legs muscles flexed with power, and a moment later, his body flew forward.

Asura True Flicker!

‘Ah?!’

Jenkin’s already unsteady mind was thrown further into disarray.

Like a ghost, Silver had suddenly appeared before him. Low to the ground, his right fist was cocked back, preparing to throw a most devastating punch.

The unexpectedness and surprising speed of the other scrambled the gangster’s thoughts. Still, even in this state, Jenkin didn’t fail to react. Where his mind faltered, the extensive battle experience under his belt took the reins. In a flash, another layer was added to his Psi armour. At the same time, his arms rushed to his front and formed an ‘x’ shaped guard, all before Silver could launch his punch.

However….

‘Ah-’

Bam!

Silver’s cross suddenly transitioned into an uppercut. His fist slipped through Jenkin’s defence and connected squarely with the underside of the gangster’s chin. The impact instantly separated Jenkin’s feet from the earth and sent him hurling upwards.

‘Argh!’

The heaven-sent Jenkin’s consciousness was shaken at the blow, still, he lived and breathed. Unfortunately for him, Silver wasn’t finished. Immediately following the punch, his right leg flashed upward to perform a taekwondo high kick straight to the other’s jaw, sending him up with even greater momentum.

Importantly, Oscillation Wave coated his kick. Immature as it was, it still ended up disintegrating Jenkin’s Psi armour and allowed Silver’s boot to shatter the lower half of the other’s face.

Silver didn’t end there; using his extended right foot as a pivot point, he twisted his figure upwards and around to perform a second kick with his left leg, again aiming for the other’s face.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

This lightning-quick three-hit combo landed with a devastating effect. Before Jenkin could register the resultant pain, another sensation reached him. A Fated String coiled around his right leg. A blue sparkle later, the rope accelerated to insane speeds; producing its signature monstrous tug, sending Jenkin’s figure earthward at blistering speeds.

Boom!

Colliding back-first against the tiled stone road, several horrific cracks sounded out at the impact. But it wasn’t over yet.

*Splat*

Streaking down, Silver delivered his final attack. Stomping down with an earth rumbling force, Jenkin’s head was instantly obliterated. Blood, skull fragments, teeth, and all that resided in the gangster’s head was made to explode out onto the streets. Jenkin’s feet kicked up one last time, before flopping back down lifelessly.

And like that, the Wild Dogs lost their leader.
