Chapter 11: 11

Ji Rong dully commented, “Boss, you should throw your title of Three Strike Xiao away.”

Shi Chong asked, “What exactly is his special ability? How can he have so many?”‎

Within an instant, all three of them had been hypnotized for at least three seconds. If Wen Qingling had wanted to kill them, he probably would have already succeeded.

Ji Rong was still in a sluggish state. He asked, “This guy is so powerful, Boss, why don’t we bring him back?”‎

Xiao Hen looked at him. “Do you have the ability to?”‎

Ji Rong started grinning. “We’ll have to rely on you for that, Boss.”

Xiao Hen chose to remain silent. He truly did not have the confidence. That person was unfathomable and peculiar.

His gaze suddenly froze at a spot. After a while, Ji Rong and Shi Chong were also stunned.

The first thing He Lin saw after waking up was such a scene.‎

“You guys offended the wood ability user?”‎

The four wheels of the car had all been nailed to the ground by thick wooden thorns.‎

Wen Qingling was truly fierce. Even the car he had been driving had received the same treatment, forcing the squad of four to use their legs.

Panting, Ji Rong spoke, “Boss, you’ve seriously offended the person. This time he punctured our tires, next time, wouldn’t he be puncturing our bodies instead?”

Xiao Hen looked towards South City. Wen Qingling had long escaped.

‎He Lin got up from the ground, his legs fully restored, “Are we going to have to sleep on the highway tonight?”

The main road ‎leading in and out of South city had long been cleared. Finding a car was almost impossible.‎

Xiao Hen looked at the South City behind him, and then looked towards the endless distance.‎

Xiao Hen made a decision.

“We’ll head back to South City.”

The four people who had spent so much effort to leave retraced their footsteps.

Ji Rong said, “That Blood Corpse was able to control the zombie horde. Is there a possibility that it’s actually the evolved lifeform, ‘Leader’?”

He Lin calmly analyzed, “It’s possible, and there should be more than one ‘Leader’ in South City. The Blood Corpse originally wanted the zombie horde to eat us, but the second ‘Leader’ only wanted us to leave the city and didn’t harm us.”

Shi Chong added, “The latter’s strength should be higher than that of the Blood Corpse.”‎

Ji Rong: “Why did the ‘Leader’ let us go instead of eating us? This doesn’t match up with a zombie’s natural behaviour…”

Xiao Hen: “There are even ordinary zombies who know how to avoid traffic now. Why are you still expecting natural behaviour from them?”

South City’s zombies had completely lost their natural instincts and behaviour. You could even say that their natural behaviour was “acting unnaturally”.

Laughing, Ji Rong added, “Hey, if we go back again, will those zombies die of anger?”

Though that was under the assumption that they even knew what “dying of anger” meant.

From their position, they saw several cars rushing out of South City in the distance. This alarmed them.

Xiao Hen paused in his footsteps, moving to stand in the centre of the road.

The four of them formed a line.

The speeding cars approaching them honked wildly.

The sniper rifle appeared in Xiao Hen’s hand. He took aim at the car in the vanguard.

The cars gradually stopped. Lu Tianjin1Appeared at the start of the novel. Wen Qingling’s old teammate who betrayed him for Xu Shengfei (WQL’s horrible female cousin) stepped out on one leg, standing behind the car door, and shouted from a distance, “Friend, is there anything you need help with?”

Xiao Hen lowered the rifle.

“Are you the survivors from Ling City?”‎

Seeing that he had no intention of fighting, Lu Tianjin slowly relaxed a little.

“Yes, are you guys from the outside?”‎

Xiao Hen did not reply.

“There’s a few things I want to ask you about.”

Having said that, he threw a crystal nucleus from a first-grade evolved zombie over.

Lu Tianjin grabbed it in his hand and took a look, before throwing it back to Xiao Hen.‎

Smiling with a good temper, he said, “That’s not needed, just go ahead and ask what you want to. I’ll answer whatever I can.”

Xiao Hen spoke, “What’s going on with the South City zombies? Do you know anything about it?”

Lu Tianjin’s expression changed, and his companions got off the bus one after another to stand beside him.

Xu Shengfei sized up Xiao Hen. He was wearing a black combat uniform and had long legs. He was tall, with a buzz cut. The edges of his trousers were cleanly and neatly tucked into military boots. His appearance was very handsome, with a pair of particularly sharp eyes.

Even his casual standing posture was a standard ready stance. The way he held the gun in his hands spoke of long experience.

The other three were dressed in the same way. Xu Shengfei concluded that they were probably soldiers.‎

The identity of a soldier could always provide people with a sense of security.‎

Xu Shengfei took the initiative to walk over.

“Were you also attacked by the zombie horde? We barely managed to escape.”

Xiao Hen glanced at her, “Were the zombies here always like this?”

Xu Shengfei: “Of course not. The change only happened recently.”‎

Xiao Hen: “Do you know the reason behind?”‎

Xu Shengfei: “Yes, but this is a long story. It seems that you guys don’t have a car. Why don’t we go together and talk slowly during the journey?”‎

Lu Tianjin walked over as well.

“We’re survivors from the South City base. The base is not far from here.”‎

It was obvious at first glance that‎ these four were not ordinary people. The South City base had lost Wen Qingling and Luo Fengjue, two ability users, one after another, and urgently needed to attract more strength.

If not, it was hard to say how much longer the base could last.

Wanting to know what exactly had happened in South City, Xiao Hen followed them to the car.
