Chapter 275: Demon Startled by the Dharma Body

“Stay here later and tell your companions not to run about. Otherwise, I won’t be able to protect you all,” Lin Jin instructed.

Although Qingzhu had no idea who this refined and elegant young mister was, his words gave off a trustworthy air.

So she nodded.

Qingzhu didn’t ask anything else. She could tell that the fire fox-ish creature by his side, the white ape, and even that coffin belonged to this man.

Yet, she had no idea that her gestures looked extraordinarily creepy in her companions’ eyes.

Due to the Camouflage, they couldn’t even hear Lin Jin’s voice and only noticed Qingzhu talking to air. In this bizarre night, one could only imagine how harrowing this scene was.

“Say… you don’t think Qingzhu’s cursed, is she?” one of them couldn’t help speaking his mind.

The others didn’t answer.

Young Mr. Li said quietly, “Strange things keep happening tonight. Anyway, be careful guys. If something doesn’t look right later, we’ll spread out and run. Remember, just focus on getting out alive.”

At that moment, the situation changed outside. Several people escaped back inside.

Mr. Li and his group took a step back out of fear.

They were the people from the two groups of villains earlier.

But their numbers didn’t tally.

The duo with the bears managed to make it back but one was pallid while the other was covered in blood with an arm limped at his side. He was clearly badly injured.

Of the Four Devils of Mount Kui, only two returned. They had light injuries but were visibly shaken. As for their pet beasts, neither of the North Ridge Duo’s bears returned. Only one of the four devils’ pet beasts returned but it was a tiger beast who had lost all of its fight. This was a Rank 2 tiger and they had no idea what could possibly fluster the creature so.

These four people returned with terrified looks on their faces, completely different from the menacing brutes they were before. They seemed even worse off than Mr. Li and his group.

Now, the North Ridge Duo and the remaining two devils couldn’t care for anything else. They stared fearfully outside the yard.

“To think we, the North Ridge Duo, will be laying our lives down here.”

“That demon is too strong and I don’t think anyone of us here will make it out alive today!”

The strong icy breeze whistling outside faded away.

The atmosphere in the abandoned yard grew increasingly tense, and finally, under everyone’s scrutiny, a woman stepped in. Some of them also noticed that under the moonlight, this woman’s shadow was the silhouette of a ferocious tiger.

Dressed in bright red, this woman was stunning. She was walking on bare feet but they weren’t tainted as she entered.

But as soon as this woman came in, the villainous experts doubled back in fear. One of them even carelessly tripped on a rock and fell down.

Mr. Li suddenly cried out loud. He removed the jade piece around his chest as it glowed bright red.

“It’s burning me. Ouch,” Mr. Li exclaimed.

As he held onto the string and stared at the woman at the door, he shouted, “She’s a demon here to devour humans. Everyone, run for your life!”

This was the plan they agreed on.

And they stuck to it. The group scattered with some even trying to climb over the walls.

However, the lady in red chuckled and flung her sleeve. A strong gust swept up, drawing everyone back.

These guys were struck dumb. If they couldn’t escape, wouldn’t that just leave death?

But all of a sudden, the red lady noticed Lin Jin and she froze.

Until now, Lin Jin’s Camouflage was still in effect where an average person couldn’t see him, Xiao Huo, and White Ape. Even the coffin’s spiritual energy has been concealed by Lin Jin’s needles.

Yet, this red lady could see them clearly.

She glanced at White Ape and the coffin first before turning to Xiao Huo.

Her eyes immediately lit up at this, mumbling to herself, “Dharma body. It’s actually a Dharma body.”

Then, she turned to Lin Jin and saw him sitting there, cleanly dressed with a relaxed demeanor, calm and composed. The was a mist around him that rolled with every breath he took. How mysterious.

Although the man seemed average, the red lady could vaguely sense pressuring intimidation from him. It was being heavily concealed but she was able to sense it with her incredible cultivation level.

Probing further would unnerve her so she retracted her aura at once.

This red lady was a tiger monster with profound cultivation. She managed to transfigure hundreds of years ago and even cultivated demonic energy to become as powerful as she was today.

She came all the way here for a mission from faraway lands only to see that someone else had arrived at her destination. The other party even insulted her, and out of annoyance, she simply killed a few ignorant fools.

With her current cultivation level, she no longer needed to consume human meat for cultivation and condensing her demonic aura. But if she was in a foul mood, eating humans was an effortless task.

Only, she never imagined that an expert would be right here in this mansion.

His Camouflage skill aside, that tiny wolf beside him with the Dharma body was enough to stun her.

With natural spirit energy being scarce in today’s world, her cultivation had long reached a bottleneck. An expert once advised her that to further improve herself, she had to cultivate the Dharma body.

That was the only way.

Only, the expert who gave her this advice didn’t know how to condense a Dharma body either. Hence, she had been traveling everywhere all these years, searching for opportunities but to no avail. For the first few decades, she still carried hope, until later, it gradually died away into utter disappointment.

This was the reason for her surprise after noticing a pet beast with a Dharma body.

As she had researched it before, the tiger demon could easily recognize the fire wolf’s Dharma body at first glance. She was sure of it.

Had the fire wolf cultivated this Dharma body himself?

Impossible.

The fire wolf’s rank was incredibly low and he wasn’t a monster. Instead, he was a pet beast bound to a blood contract with a human so he couldn’t possibly cultivate a Dharma body on his own.

Then, it must be his owner’s amazing capabilities.

The tiger demon turned to Lin Jin once more.

Those people inside the yard assumed that their deaths were imminent. They would most probably be devoured by this scary demon and so, everyone felt terrified and despair. However, what puzzled them was after her entrance and that flick of her sleeve to pull back the escaping individuals, the demon just stood at the door, seemingly dazed.

None of them dared to speak so the yard was absolutely quiet.

As the villains had witnessed the demon’s prowess before, they knew their lives were hanging by a thread so they didn’t even dare to breathe too heavily.

Yet, this demon’s gaze was focused on an empty spot as if she could see something there. How strange.
