That was true.
Everyone here including, Ghost Child, Old Tian, and even Ye Yuzhou had once thought themselves to be all that when they first arrived here. However, these folks were instantly humbled by the arrival of the Curator.
For these fresh faces, no matter who they were or what their backgrounds were, their fates were sealed. It didn’t really matter whether or not they could persuade them to change their minds now.
“Hmph, all this hocus pocus.” The man smirked, demonstrating how well he could put up with imminent danger. “Second Brother, Fourth Brother, if that’s what you’re trying to achieve, you can save it. Consider this, what will happen to you if our imperial father finds out?”
He shouted with a resonating voice that echoed through the entire Visitation Hall.
Standing not too far away, female visitor number twelve looked at the man with a strange emotion in her eyes.
“Another member of the royalty. Interesting, interesting.” Black Crow chuckled at this.
That was easy to guess. His mentioning of ‘imperial father’ confirmed that just like He Qing, he was a member of a royal family from some nation.
With a curious expression, He Qing asked him, “Hey, which country are you from? What’s your name?”
The man scoffed and looked around again, bellowing loudly, “What kind of actors are these? How cheesy. Stop amusing me and come out at once.”
After shouting, he scanned the surroundings carefully as if he was expecting a response. But obviously, no one would respond to him.
“Alright. Then let me see how long you guys can keep this boring act up,” the man said.
Seeing his response, He Qing shook her head helplessly. “I don’t think our words are getting through his head, so let’s just ignore him for now.”
“You should’ve done that a long time ago. That man even yelled at me just now. Had it not been for the Curator, I would’ve taught this brat a lesson,” Old Tian fumed.
“Right, Old Tian, how are things on your end?” Ye Yuzhou asked.
He was inquiring about Old Tian’s internal strife with his sworn brothers.
Old Tian smiled. “It’s been resolved. Now that I have a Rank 4 pet beast, it was easily settled. But since we’re once brothers, I didn’t kill them. Whoever was willing to follow me could stay and those who weren’t, I let them go.”
“Now that’s the way. The benevolent are always invincible,” Ye Yuzhou praised. Black Crow and Ghost Child pretended as if they didn’t hear him.
As no one paid visitor eleven any more attention, the latter became unnerved.
“You brought me here but won’t come out and see me. What’s your purpose?
“If the people in my manor learn of my absence, they’ll surely conduct a search and our imperial father will also be notified. If I were you, I’d cease at once. It’s not too late for regrets after all.
“You…”
The man was about to continue when visitor twelve suddenly asked, “You… You’re the third prince of Heavenly Spiral Kingdom, Feng Ziqian?”
Visitor eleven immediately turned to the plainly dressed girl and smirked. “Why ask what you already know? I won’t be intimidated that easily by this crap show you’re putting up!”
The girl replied helplessly, “Feng Ziqian, open your eyes wide and look at the situation. If I’m not mistaken, you and I were sucked in here by a mysterious door. Who do you think is capable of such a phenomenal feat in this world? I’ve heard about the princes’ contest over the throne in your kingdom but I never thought you’d be this unsightly. I highly doubt that you’d be able to protect your people, considering how muddled your vision is.”

“What did you say?” Feng Ziqian flared up in anger. “Are you insinuating that I’m not fit to fight for the throne?”
As he spoke, he took two steps forward with a murderous expression. His pet beast’s shadow was ready to take action.
The female visitor was surprisingly unafraid. She pointed to the door behind him and said, “There’s the door. No one’s stopping you. Go ahead and leave if you hate being here so much. Also, if you want to fight, consider the consequences.”
Feng Ziqian stayed put.
He had tried it just now but the door wouldn’t budge no matter how hard he pulled, which confused him the most. As for fighting, it was taboo to carelessly take action without first clarifying the situation. As prince of a premium country, how could he be that ignorant? Frankly speaking, whatever he was seeing right now, he knew that it had exceeded his knowledge of what was common.
His words earlier were all just a test.
After all, only a handful of enemies were capable of kidnapping him in the Heavenly Spiral Kingdom. The most probable suspects were his two brothers who also had their eyes on the throne.
However, judging from the result of his probing, that might not be the case.
Though, it also made him all the more anxious. He was now hoping that this was some dumb stunt pulled by either of his brothers. He could at least control the situation that way.
But it seemed like everything was out of his control, and that felt terrible. As prince of a premium country and worthy contender of the throne, was Feng Ziqian that useless?
Other than probing the water, his words also contained another purpose, which was to declare his identity. Judging from their reaction, at present, Feng Ziqian realized that the people here didn’t seem to care much about his identity. Other than one or two slight changes in expression, they largely tried to ignore him.
It was intriguing.
And that woman.
Was she in cahoots with these people?
If she was, what was their purpose for holding him hostage here?
Feng Ziqian pondered. He wouldn’t actually take action because he was all alone by himself. It was as the saying, ‘not even Hercules could fight against two’. Even if his pet beast was Rank 4, it was best that he avoided rash decisions.
This was all the more so as he noticed that the pet beasts of at least four people possessed an aura similar to his companion’s.
In other words, should a fight break out, he would be facing at least four Rank 4 pet beasts. Not even a lunatic could take action in such a scenario.
‘Having studied the Art of Imperiality, I know that I mustn’t panic before earthquakes. Isn’t this crisis a test for what I’ve learned? Or is it perhaps a trial arranged by our imperial father?’ Feng Ziqian considered the various possibilities. In any case, he knew that maintaining his composure was key.
Maybe he did panic at first, as evidenced by how he nervously tried to probe the water. But after calming down, he remembered that adaptability was the ultimate response he should exhibit.
Feng Ziqian stopped talking. In contrast to him, the other girl had been composed since the start. She kept her eyes open and her mouth shut, which placed her in a position of strength.
Looking at the new visitors, Old Tian was reminded of his ‘buffoonery’ the first time he came here and commented with envy, “Looks like these two have some achievements, especially that girl.”
“In a while, they’ll know how lucky they are,” Black Crow said coolly.
Everyone agreed to his remark.
Being selected to be a visitor here was surely a fortunate thing.
At that moment, the metal door on the second floor opened.
