He Qing definitely wouldn’t know. She didn’t even know what went on at the royal capital much less everywhere else.
Jiang Ziqi was the same. Being a quiet guy, he had been hiding in the mountains all these years. To him, the most “social” thing he had ever done in the past few years was partaking in the activities in the Visitation Hall.
Black Crow and Madam Ghost Child were constantly on the go, so they told the group a few of the bigger incidents that happened recently, but none seemed to relate to Curator.
Old Tian shook his head as well. He couldn’t care less about what went on outside. Although he now had a Rank 4 pet beast, Old Tian preferred life in the countryside. Simply put, dominating a mountain and crowning himself king was much more relaxing.
Both Feng Ziqian and Zhao Jingyan didn’t have much to share either.
After having their conversation, they realized that a long time had passed. Under normal circumstances, they would have left the Visitation Hall at this point.
The eight visitors looked at each other.
“Curator didn’t show up.”
“Seems so. This is odd.”
“The way I see it, there’s nothing to be surprised about. Curator never said he would show up every time,” Old Tian said out of the blue.
It was a comment that came from the top of his mind but after saying that, he looked up to see everyone staring at him. This made him blush.
“Wh-why are you guys looking at me like that? I’m not wrong. Cu-Curator never said he would definitely show up every time,” he stammered.
The group thought about it and sure enough, Old Tian was right.
Forget Curator, they were the same. Besides the first time when they were forcibly sucked into this space, they had voluntarily entered the rift in their subsequent visits.
In other words, if they had the freedom to abstain from visiting this place if they had matters to tend to.
In fact, the only reason why they have consistently shown up here was that it was done out of habit. It was also a chance to come in contact with Curator. Considering how much they had reaped from him, it would have been foolish for them not to come to the Visitation Hall.
However, Curator was different. If he had issues to handle, he had all the reasons not to attend the session. As a matter of fact, not once had he ever guaranteed his attendance.
“You’re right, Old Tian.”
As surprised as Ye Yuzhou was, he realized how much sense Old Tian’s statement made.
“Yeah. If Curator has something to deal with, it doesn’t surprise me that he’s not coming. You know, I never would have considered that possibility had you not mentioned it, Old Tian.” Black Crow laughed.
The others nodded at Old Tian in agreement and this only made him more embarrassed.
“Looks like we can only ask Curator when the Visitation Hall opens the next time.”
“Yeah. But we still have a bit of time left so we let’s carry on with our conversation.”
Although the group was disappointed, they couldn’t help it if Curator wouldn’t show up.
It was especially so for Feng Ziqian and Zhao Jingyan. This was their second time at the Visitation Hall so they had tons of questions for Curator. But now, they could only wait until next time.
It went without saying that they were completely oblivious to the fact that Curator was indeed in serious trouble.
Due to Goldy’s outburst, the thundclouds were forcibly dispersed and the heavy rain stopped. After the downpour, the air was puriefied and the scenery was delightfully soothing.
However, Lin Jin wasn’t have the mood to enjoy all that.

He realized that he had severly underestimated the damage caused by divine lightning to his body. His initial plan was to use the secret art he had performed on Shang’er on himself.
Unsurprisingly, it didn’t work.
He wasn’t a monster nor did he possess a physique as strong as theirs. Apart from that, monsters and beasts had ranks but Lin Jin didn’t. Trying to hide the divine lightning’s powers in his organs and eventually convert them as his own was an impossible endeavor.
Fortunately, Lin Jin knew when to stop so he didn’t try to force it. He could only resort to the next best option, which was to draw the divine lightning into a needle.
He would use the divine lightning and Dragonfire to refine this needle.
Right now, Lin Jin was just feeling his way around, relying on his experience. If he managed to pull off his plan, he would gain a powerful artifact, but if he failed, he would lose nothing.
Lin Jin’s concentration was at an all-time high. When he realized that Dragonfire wasn’t enough, he immediately switched to unrefined fire. And when unrefined fire failed, he decided to risk it all with the ‘Phoenix Fire’ that he wasn’t quite familiar with yet.
He had obtained this ‘Phoenix Fire’ when he condensed the phoenix egg a little while back. After some cultivation, he could begin to use it but it went without saying that he wasn’t as proficient at it compared to Dragonfire. This was his last resort.
Before Lin Jin was a silver needle that hovered in the air. Sparks would form on its body from time to time, indicating its volatile state. Lin Jin opened his mouth and gently blew out crimson flames, allowing it to circle around the needle.
The blood-red flames was the Phoenix Fire which Lin Jin had nourished for so long. These flames seemed more like a liquid when it wrapped around the needle.
Moments later, sparks could still be seen from the needle. Swiftly, Lin Jin raised his arm and tossed four needles in together with the first one.
“I may not have crafted artifacts before, but if I treat them as pills, perhaps the pelletization techniques would work,” Lin Jin mumbled to himself. Lin Jin’s skill at pelletization was phenomenal, and it was thanks to him and the horde of long-lost pill prescriptions that he uncovered that the Shi family was saved from impending doom.
Lin Jin used a pelletization method to shape the Phoenix Fire into a tiny ball, melting all five needles into a single larger needle.
This needle was three inches long. In addition to the surrounding Phoenix Fire, lightning was also sandwiched in between.
The remnants of the divine lightning were finally sealed completely into the large needle. With this, the needle now contained a combination of lightning and fire energies.
“From now on, this needle will be called Thunderfire Needle!”
By the time he was done, Lin Jin was drenched in his own sweat and the sun was rising.
Just like that, one night had passed.
The little fox, Shang’er, was still fast asleep. Similarly, Xiao Huo was curled up in a corner, slowly recuperating from the injuries he received from the divine lightning. Goldy, on the other hand, was perched proudly atop a rock, crowing at the rising sun, in spite of what happened last night.
Lin Jin glanced over and smiled.
Goldy had evolved.
It came as no surprise, considering the groundwork Lin Jin had done to facilitate its evolution. For instance, he had planted the Golden Crow’s feather on him and fed him the century-old frozen cordyceps.
Goldy had already been showing signs of evolution but Lin Jin was just too occupied recently to pay him any attention. Who would have known that after being struck by divine lightning and Goldy would achieve evolution on his own after taking the divine lightning head-on.
Goldy was now Rank 4 pet beast. What’s more, he was an incredibly refined Rank 4 at that, exceeding even Xiao Huo’s Dharma body. The new feathers that grew in place of the ones scorched by the lightning looked exactly like a Golden Crow’s.
Wonderful.
Simply wonderful!
The divine lightning had the magical effect of cleansing a creature’s bone marrow anyway. Now that Goldy used it to achieve evolution, the effects were better than a perfect evolution. At this point, Lin Jin found it hard to fathom Goldy’s future potential.
Perhaps, once Goldy entered Rank 5, the feathers on his whole body would become that of the Golden Crow’s.
Then, he would probably undergo metamorphosis and gain the body of the Golden Crow.
