Unbeknownst to Lin Jin, right after he brazenly entered the Visitation Hall and disappeared, the immortal servants outside were momentarily stunned before losing their composure.
“Wh-where did he go?”
“Just now, I think I saw a door appearing out of nowhere.”
“What do we do? Yan Shenjun told us to keep an eye on this person. Now that he suddenly disappeared, Yan Shenjun would never let us off easily..”
“We’re done for. We’re done for this time.”
Most of the immortal servants panicked. Yan Shenjun was an almighty existence to them; he was a man whom they couldn’t persuade. Whatever Yan Shenjun instructed them to do, no matter how challenging it was, they had to complete it.
This become the norm over the past thousand years.
There were a total of thirty-two immortal servants here but not a single one dared to defy Yan Shenjun.
Even if they had the chance to escape, no one would dare to leave. There were only two outcomes for going AWOL. They would either make a successful escape and never be heard from again, or they would be captured by Yan Shenjun.
The second outcome was scary enough to deter most of the immortals.
When Yan Shenjun ordered them to keep an eye on this ‘mortal’, they thought the task was overly easy. To their dismay, only one day had passed and a mishap happened.
The immortals began searching the place frantically.
Even immortals were unable to notice the Visitation Hall’s existence.
The fairy who helped Lin Jin pelletize his pills earlier hadn’t gone far. She caught everything with her own eyes.
She too was shocked to even speak.
However, there was a strange glint in her eyes.
“Xiang Yun, what do we do?” whispered another female immortal, whose face was drained of all color.
The female immortal named Xiang Yun shook her head silently.
She didn’t know what to say.
She had no idea what to do next either. Perhaps that mortal had truly escaped under the noses of these immortal servants. It didn’t take much to imagine that Yan Shenjun would punish them severely for this.
A few unlucky ones might just be killed or get refined into other stuff.
Instant death was always the more preferred option.
Similarly, if Xiang Yun were to choose, she would rather die an instant death.
“Come, let’s go back.” Xiang Yun remained calm. This was what set her apart from the other half immortals, especially in terms of their mental strength.
Even when faced with the threat of Yan Shenjun, she was still able to keep her calm, a trait that was invaluable in this line of work.
An overwhelming aura came sweeping over them out of nowhere.
With her keen senses, Xiang Yun immediately bowed out of fright. The other immortal servants sensed it too and they got on their knees.
Yan Shenjun had arrived.
Yan Shenjun stood at the spot where Lin Jin was last seen. Ignoring the immortal servants around him, his expression was solemn as a myriad of colors streamed through his eyes. It was some sort of spell that helped him observe his surroundings with his spirit eye.
The immortal servants couldn’t see it but Yan Shenjun could make out the faint outline of a door as it gradually faded away.
“So it’s here,” muttered Yan Shenjun. He swiftly reached forward to grab it.
His grasp may seem normal on the outside, but he had enhanced his fingers with dozens of spells. That instant, Yan Shenjun’s fingers passed through walls, punching through layers of void as he tried to open this almost vanishing door.

Yan Shenjun unleashed his profound immortal powers.
He was confident that no matter how discreet the door was, or what spells Lin Jin had used, he could bring it back to reality again and open it.
This confidence stemmed from his victory streak that lasted millenniums, as well as his status as a profound immortal.
Reality proved this to be true as the vanishing door suddenly reappeared the instant Yan Shenjun reached for it.
Almost at the same time, Yan Shenjun’s palm slammed on the Visitation Hall’s door.
Bam!
The loud noise frightened Lin Jin.
He turned to the door at the end of the short hallway. That was the door he had to open every time he accessed the Visitation Hall. In every instance, only he could touch and open it.
But now, he heard something banging on the door.
“Could it be Yan Shenjun?” Lin Jin was so frightened that he froze up. After all, he hadn’t experienced this before.
In any case, the door remained shut.
All of the museum’s doors had unique restrictions placed on them. Unless someone possessed a Visitor’s Token or shared the authority that Curator enjoyed, no one could enter this realm.
Lin Jin waited for a bit. When everything turned silent, he relaxed considerably. However, his rage began to surge as well.
“This Yan Shenjun has gone too far.” Lin Jin made a grabbing gesture before he put on Curator’s mask.
The next instant, instead of opening the metal door of the Visitation Hall, he strode to the opposite end of the hallway, back to the door he entered from.
Then, Lin Jin opened the door.
Lin Jin had done this on impulse. Since Yan Shenjun knew of Curator’s existence and deliberately set this trap, he was probably thinking of using Lin Jin as bait to lure Curator out.
That being the case, why not just fulfill his wish?
‘If you want to see me that badly, let’s meet.’
Then, Lin Jin used the power of Curator’s mask to steady this door in case it disappeared and cut off the connection to this hallway.
On the other side, the profound immortal, Yan Shenjun, had just used his powers to slam on the disappearing door, bringing it back to reality.
He intended to push the door open with that slam.
Yet, the door’s strength was beyond Yan Shenjun’s expectation. Although the door stood before him, he understood one thing.
He couldn’t open it.
“Hmph!” he scoffed. Yan Shenjun was irritated. This idea of trying to use Lin Jin to lure out the legendary Curator came out of nowhere. Yet, he never imagined he would be held up by a door.
He was a profound immortal. If word got out that a door stopped him, he would be so humiliated.
His anger aside, Yan Shenjun also suffered reverse shock from that slam earlier. He knew the door wouldn’t budge no matter what. Even if he threw a powerful immortal spell at it, the door would remain unscratched.
“Forget it!” Yan Shenjun turned away, planning to leave.
At that very moment, the door creaked as it opened up from the inside.
The sound came so suddenly it baffled Yan Shenjun. He turned back, just in time for his eyes to meet the gaze of a masked man.
It was a ferocious beast-patterned mask.
This was Curator’s signature mask. Despite there being a mask to hide his face, he could sense Curator’s fury on a visceral level.
Yan Shenjun’s heart raced as fear took hold of his entire being.
