Chapter 709: With Ease

Jia Qian had refined her snake’s venom before. Against regular enemies, the risk of being bitten was usually enough to silence them. When it came to lethality, her venomous snake was surely number one in the Beast Appraisal Association.

“Run!”

Jia Qian and Zhao Ying made a run for it, all while looking out for each other.

However, the enemy was quick to react. It wasn’t long before the women were encircled. More than ten ferocious beasts stood in front of them while the bloodthirsty soldiers stood behind them.

“Save the captain!” one of the soldiers shouted. Immediately, a soldier ran over to provide an antidote to his comrade who was bitten by the snake.

Grassy Continent was a place teeming with countless poisonous creatures. This was why their local folk carried antidotes with them, especially those that worked for snake venom. It was evident that they came prepared, and they were experienced enough to handle the situation calmly.

One of the soldiers cut the bite wound to release the tainted blood. After smearing medicine on the bite wound, they fed the victim a strange-smelling medicine. When all this was over, the wounded soldier snapped out of his coma.

He began cursing harshly.

His shoulder was swiftly bandaged. He clung onto his wound with one hand and unsheathed his sword with the other. With bloodshot eyes, he approached Jia Qian and Zhao Ying menacingly.

“Go away! I’ll skin these two b*tches alive!” roared the soldier savagely.

Encircled, Jia Qian Jia Qian and Zhao Ying exchanged a glance. Looks like they weren’t in luck today.

The girls had snatched up a sword earlier. Zhao Ying glanced at Jia Qian before grabbing the sword and holding it to her neck.

She would rather die than be humiliated.

All of a sudden, a sword came slashing down from the sky, snapping the long sword Zhao Ying was holding.

The sword was knocked out of Zhao Ying’s grip, and when she looked down, she noticed that only the hilt was left.

The blade had been sliced off cleanly.

Then, she saw another sword suspended in the air in front of her.

This sword was long and slender. Its arrival was announced by a divine breeze, as well as the peculiar energy of a monster. Like fire and water, a single entity should not be able to possess both attributes. And yet, the sword was able to maintain a perfect harmony between the two elements.

Aside from this was the aura.

This sword gave off the feeling like it could slay an entire army in one slash.

It wouldn’t even be an exaggeration to call its Sword Energy overflowing.

“What the hell!” The Grassy Continent soldier was still furious. He refused to wait for even a second longer. The moment he raised his sword, a beam of light sliced through his body. Just like that, the soldier who barely survived the previous attack was split in half, along with his sword.

No one had seen how this attack was carried out. After all, the mysterious sword remained suspended in the air.

Chaos ensued for the enemy.

Just then, a person standing on flaming clouds descended. At the sight of him, Zhao Ying and Jia Qian burst into tears.

It was none other than Lin Jin.

He had been watching the scene unfold from a distance away. Due to urgency, he could only release Clear Wind to stop Zhao Ying from taking her own life.

Thank god he made it in time.

“It’s great that you’re safe,” said Lin Jin. Then, he turned to the girls’ pet beasts and beckoned them. Zhao Ying’s pangolin and Jia Qian’s white snake hurried toward him.

“Both of you, take good care of your owners and escort them back to Jade Dragon City!” Lin Jin extended his finger and poked the heads of the pangolin and white snake.

In an instant, these creatures released an explosive aura. The elements around him raged and stirred as the air was filled with the distinct sound of bone cracking.

In just a few moments, both pet beasts advanced to the next rank.

Rank 4!

Just one poke and these creatures evolved to Rank 4.

Those who witnessed this transformation were stunned.

Everyone knew that the evolution to Rank 4 could not be faked. However, wasn’t it too simple?

This man just poked them once, and like the touch of Midas, he promoted these beasts to Rank 4.

This was unbelievable.

And scary too.

To most people, this was a miracle of God.

Forget the enemy soldiers who were beyond stupefied, even Zhao Ying and Jia Qian, who were close acquaintances of Lin Jin, stared blankly at their pet beasts.

Both of them were beast appraisers. While they had yet to obtain their qualifications, their competence was on par with Rank 1 beast appraisers, maybe even higher.

In other words, they were professionals. Unlike outsiders, they understood the theory of beast appraising and evolution.

Although Lin Jin’s action was phenomenal, the girls knew that beast evolution still had to be carried out the traditional way. As talented as Lin Jin was, he still had to follow certain rules when evolving a pet beast.

Certain protocols had to be followed to a T.

Lin Jin was able to promote these beasts as his appraising abilities had reached the point where he could see every detail through a single glance. That poke must have been imbued with all the materials the beast required. Lin Jin probably managed to regulate and even restructure the beasts’ meridians as well. That was how he pulled off what other beast appraisers were able to achieve in a few seconds, compared to a few months.

Of course, it is assumed that the beast appraiser knew how to promote that particular beast in the first place.

Anyhow, this was an extraordinary display of skill.

“Teacher Lin!”

“Greetings, Teacher Lin!”

The girls regained their senses and greeted Lin Jin immediately.

Lin Jin waved. “You guys head on to the royal capital. I’ll search for the others.”

Zhao Ying was startled she quickly shared what she and Jia Qian had learned.

Lin Jin frowned silently.

Assuming what Zhao Ying said was true, Lin Jin found a silver lining to this catastrophe. Since the enemy was targeting him, he no longer had to hold back his punches. What’s more, he could now be considered invincible in the mainlands.

Why should he hide?

He could just charge at the enemy head-on. He didn’t even need to come up with a strategy.

Through his strength alone, he could overwhelm the enemy. This was something he never imagined doing back then. This proved that absolute power allowed an individual to do whatever they wanted.

“Go!” shouted Lin Jin. The two Rank 4 beasts picked up their owners and fled. None of the soldiers around dared to stop them.

They were stunned by Lin Jin’s overwhelming presence. The ‘immortal sword’ hovering in the air pressured them considerably.

It felt like if they made one reckless move, they would suffer the same fate as their captain.

They couldn’t move, but Lin Jin could. His next move would be so big that it would shake the earth.

“Citizens of Maple City, go home! I shall kill whoever that stops you!”
