Chapter 223: Chapter 214 – The Rage of Aurolana

Absolute silence reigned for a moment, then Zeel brushed his fingers across Aurolana's cheek and down her back.

He felt the scars from the whipping and knew she kept them as a way to feel closer to himself.

Two scars also materialized on Zeel's chest, it was the scars caused by Aurolana's wings when she claimed a piece of his soul.

Aurolana brushed her fingers across the scars on Zeel's body.

Most of them were matching scars they had received together. It was a testament to their story – a story of tragedy that has now become one of love.

Not knowing when their lips joined as clothes dissolved and several rounds of passionate love ensued.

It only got better every time they made love, and Aurolana did not forget to take the last piece of Zeel's soul still not corrupted by death energy.

The chains caused her a fair bit of resistance, but she was an Apollonian, and even cosmic beings could not rival her in Purgatory.

"I will keep it safe for you," Aurolana said merging their souls together once more.

"I will come back to you. You know my heart so you know what I plan to do," Zeel said.

"I give you a thousand years," Aurolana said "Keeping an Apollonian in Purgatory is like keeping a bird from flying. You either love me enough to keep me, or you let me fly away,"

Zeel nodded, a bit glad that Aurolana did not question the methods he would use to resurrect her without the Grimm Reapers.

Catherine was a huge part of his plan, but she was unreliable at times.

Aurolana laid back onto Zeel's chest and caressed his head gently "It is okay, you don't have to pretend with me,"

Zeel did nothing and said nothing but Aurolana did not relent "You came to me. Just let it out and go back. You have been gone for a long time,"

Zeel did not say anything but tears began to leak from his eyes, and soon he was crying mutely in Aurolana's bosom.

"I can remember them all. All of those I killed, the kids, mothers, fathers, warriors, heroes.

I remember them all. All the women I hurt, and I can feel your endless pain. The more you stay here, the greater the pain becomes," Zeel cried as his mind broke down.

It was not painful to commit so many sins when he was unable to feel anything but his mind had begun to take the brunt of every sin ever committed.

Zeel's emotions were dampened to keep a rational mind, but how could he now feel the pain of all his past actions.

All the women who loved him but died?

All the acts he did to Catherine and Aurolana, the two most important women in his life.

Killing his own father figure and teacher – Zal.

Everything had begun to weigh on him a long time ago, but he could never really release the pent-up emotions.

He probably subconsciously called out to Aurolana for comfort, because in the end, she was the only girl he was sure truly love him. At least, the only one still alive.

Zeel cried his heart out until his emotions stabilized.

Of course, he realized that Aurolana was drawing out his emotions but it still made him relieved.

Suddenly, Zeel asked, "How long have I been here?"

"Here?" Aurolana questioned but did not have an adequate answer "Here, is about five years, but depending on your Universe, it could be a couple of seconds or as much as a thousand years,"

"A thousand years huh?" Zeel asked smiling bitterly.

"Yes, time is the test of all true relationships. The Homunculi and Lorien have demons in their hearts.

They are not made for the life we lived. They have not suffered as much as your lovers in the past.

They won't understand who you are and why you do what you do, and that can be used against you later," Aurolana warned with venom lacing her voice.

She did not try to hide her dislike for Alice and Elizabeth.

She could watch them from Purgatory, she could hear their conversations.

Aurolana knew that both Alice and Elizabeth loved Zeel dearly, but the minimum level of love required was not something humans could provide.

Aurolana still loved Zeel even after she was killed by him. Would Alice and Elizabeth be able to say the same, hence to Aurolana, their love was too weak to remain with Zeel.

Sadly, Alice was the first woman Zeel felt connected to, and Elizabeth was who kept them together.

There was nothing she could do that would change Zeel's slightly emotional mind.

To him, both girls were dogs on chains that he would never let go of. Aurolana knew that was the maximum love Zeel could afford at the moment.

Zeel did not respond to Aurolana immediately but paused and considered his next words.

"They're beautiful right?" Zeel asked, but Aurolana did not respond because she knew the question Zeel was asking, was not one she could give an unbiased opinion to.

Aurolana slowly nodded "They are all beautiful, I should know. I am an Angel after all,"

Zeel broke into Aurolana's statement "But you are different. We have been born into fortune and wealth. The lives of those who came to the Gates Of Heaven mattered to you, but what about the others starving, being raped, being abused in the mortal plane?"

Aurolana did not answer because it was indeed not her responsibility to worry about the misdeeds of those who live.

Everyone had to die in the end, and that was when she would intervene.

"I know you care more than I do, but we have been on high for so long that we forgot how the little things matters," Zeel said and then looked at Aurolana "I killed all the Mogadorians because they were an aggressive race that would threaten people I barely cared about.

And I don't feel guilty about it. It's just the way we think. We always consider the path of a better outcome,"

"Greater power means the world gives you greater responsibility," Aurolana answered.

"But we are masters of avoiding our responsibilities, Aurolana," Zeel chided "So don't pretend that you can understand their struggles.

There is no difference between a human mother killing the husband to protect the child, and Apollonians eliminating entire species for their sinful actions,"

*Bang*

The next moment, Zeel's head was gripped by Aurolana's hands and slammed into the hardened Purgatory earth beneath their feet.

"You dare stand before me, your soulmate, and defend two human dogs you picked up from backward Universes?"

Zeel did not resist and just brushed his fingers through Aurolana's hair until she was appeased.

After a couple of minutes, Aurolana released his head from the ground and Zeel embraced her slowly.

Zeel had seen all he needed to.

It was a fact that nobody could remain sane as their soulmates wandered about with multiple women, Aurolana was no exception.

Aurolana did not stand on her high ground anymore and began biting Zeel all over. It was an irresistible urge.

Then her wings wrapped around Zeel's body and cradled them both in the comfort of Heavenly brilliance.

Zeel stared into Aurolana's eyes as the codes that flickered in his pupils circulated through Aurolana's pupils as well.

Dragons bit each other to demonstrate affection, Apollonians brushed their wings against their chosen mates to demonstrate affection.

Homo-Superiors shared specific codes with their Psychically-Imprinted to demonstrate their readiness to trust their mate.

Zeel and Aurolana were experiencing a moment of utmost intimacy.

Finally sensing that Purgatory was getting ready to expel him from the dimension, Zeel bit into Aurolana's shoulder and injected a portion of his master nanites.

Slowly, an Ownerum tattoo formed on Aurolana's shoulder.

"You want to make me your little pet now too?" Aurolana asked, rolling her eyes and unwrapping her wings from around Zeel.

Zeel just shrugged and didn't reply, there was no need to talk if there were no humans around. Talking was an antiquated method of communication after all.

After ensuring that Aurolana had a similar Ownerum tattoo on her body as Elizabeth and Alice, Zeel got up and gave her one last kiss before allowing the pull of Purgatory to work full-force.

Zeel's body broke into numerous particles and floated away, searching for his physical body in the vast expanse of the Multiverse, wherever it was.
