Seeing the expression of the powerhouses, Jason didn't feel like bidding anymore.
This feeling only intensified when he heard the price at which the bidding of the Grand Spirit eggs began.
"10 superior cultivation stones at the Ascendion rank...that's..everything I have…!" He blurted out without realising, which caused Jennifer to look at Jason in astonishment as she mumbled,
"Where the hell did you suddenly obtain such wealth from!? Didn't you ask me to lend you 100 large-sized Ascendion rank cultivation stones? That's equal to just one superior cultivation stone!!"
Jason barely heard this and turning his head, he smiled teasingly at her. Trying to ease himself of the pressure around him he answered her,
"Well, to be precise, most of it is from you, or the City Lord!" The answer only confused Jennifer further which made Jason grin again. He was beginning to grow fond of their playful banter.
"You purchased a few manuals, right? Those were mine, and the others were also mine!"
The moment he said this, Jason's chest swelled with pride, only to see Jennifer's flabbergasted expression which made him add,
"But, those were also the last manuals I brought from my old planet!"
However, even after hearing that, Jennifer continued to wonder hence she asked,
"Didn't you say that your planet is barely considered to have entered the Innate phase and that it awoke its mana heart 350 years ago, or so?!"
Jason had opened up to Jennifer about his childhood on Argos, and many other things. Thus, she knew a bit about his past, including the fact that his old planet was scarce of mana.
"You seem to have forgotten that there were Higher races who fought in the Grand Argos war, as well!" He simply replied helping Jeniffer recollect the same as Jason had talked about it a lot.
"Ah...yes, sorry Jason!" Jennifer spoke in a low voice, realising that she had made him revisit the very memories he would like to forget.
Despite Jennifer's small mistake, Jason's smile didn't vanish as he shook his head.
"It's okay. It is a thing of the past, and I have to cope with everything. But, let's get back to the topic. I have around 10 superior Ascendion rank cultivation stones, so...I won't be able to participate in the betting for the main attraction…
What a shame!"
Jennifer nodded her head, gauging what Jason hoped to achieve by purchasing one of the Grand Spirit Eggs, which would be extremely beneficial.
However, even she was not sure whether it was stupid to bid for the Grand Spirit Eggs, or not because their funds might not be enough, considering that there were more than a few dozen VVIPs from large cities inside the VVIP lounge who could spend money like water.
"I think so too..maybe even Specta rank cultivation stones might be used to purchase just one egg…"
Jason was not sure how valuable a Specta rank cultivation stone was.
Yet, after considering that a simple, and small Ascendion rank mana stone was enough for him to cultivate at a rapid pace for more than a week, Jason couldn't even gauge what the superior cultivation stones, let alone Specta ranked stones might be capable of!!
Despite that, Jason didn't feel the need to purchase more cultivation resources right now and only Artemis required some to accelerate her cultivation.
His own pace couldn't be increased much right now, as he used the Balance of the Universe's first stage.
Jason first had to familiarise himself with the second stage's main criterias before he would try to practice it, in order to further accelerate his cultivation speed.
Thus, he had felt the need to purchase the Spiral Spirit egg, and thereby bind a new, and unique soulbond.
It was his gut feeling that told him to bind it, but without the necessary funds, it was impossible to do that.
He couldn't ask the City Lord for more financial aid either because he was not sure how long it would take for him to repay everything.

There were several other factors he had to take into consideration, and being indebted to someone was not something Jason liked to be.
Thus, he simply smiled sillily at Jennifer, who made a quick call to the City Lord, using the messenger card.
Even Luna seemed to be unsure whether they should use their precious funds to purchase a Spirit Egg.
As such, Jason realised that it was even less feasible to loan funds for such a reason.
The auction had halted for a few minutes, giving everyone enough time to acquire more funds or make deals with other powerhouses to possibly purchase a Spirit egg together, and share the benefits.
Seeing this, Jason felt overwhelmed, only to suddenly hear an old woman's voice reverberating through the entire auction hall.
"Miss auctioneer, if I'm not mistaken, you mentioned 13 Eggs before, but it seems that there are 14, would you explain the reason for this? The 14th Grand Spirit egg seems to be a mutation, or from a more advanced elemental Spirit.
At least, that's what I believed, but from the intel I acquired, there shouldn't be a silver Spirit in the family of Grand Spirits!"
In the end, the question was something everyone had on their mind, but nobody had asked it out loud because they had been focusing on procuring funds or gossiping amongst each other.
As such, the question had moved to the backburner, only to reappear now that it had been asked.
The entire auction hall was filled with murmurs once again, and Jason suddenly tensed up, feeling that the following explanation might play into his hands.
Even if he had already given up, deep in his heart, he hoped for a specific scenario to occur.
It was selfish, but Jason couldn't care less about that right now.
Clearing her throat, the female auctioneer couldn't help but smile forcibly, only to explain what had happened.
"According to the appraisal and several examinations the auction house colluded, the 14th Grand Spirit Egg is slightly unique.
Because we hold our reputation dear, we won't lie to our esteemed guests. Initially, we planned to explain the heritage of the last egg after the other eggs had been auctioned off, but we should have come clean right from the beginning.
I sincerely apologise for this!"
Bowing deeply, the beautiful auctioneer caused an excited chatter to break into the rows of ordinary people who participated in the auction.
Never had they seen the auctioneer bowing down and apologising, let alone for something that they found trivial.
However, for the VVIP's, every single egg of Grand Spirits was very important.
As such, it was only fitting that they wanted to know what was the issue in the last one.
Thus, they awaited the auctioneer to explain what the problem was!
"In fact, the 14th Grand Spirit Egg has undergone a mutation, changing its mana veins into Spiral cultivation veins.
This may not seem like a problem, but everyone can see the Spiral Spirit Egg's size. Maybe, some of you can even sense that the spirit force inside the egg is extremely weak.
The latest_epi_sodes are on_the novel35.COM website.
As such, we presume that the 14th Grand Spirit egg underwent an adverse mutation that might cause further problems.
The auction house can't guarantee anything, but after multiple examinations, we determined that it might be impossible for the Spiral Spirit egg to hatch, in the first place!"
