Ojarvis was in a hurry to establish relations with Metatrin City, he had accepted ten magic chariots from Saleen. Even though these chariots were replicas their materials were genuine and their sizes were not any smaller than the real ones. Once the sorcerers in Holy Rock City refined the chariots further the magic chariots would be able to unleash their strongest abilities.
Ojarvis also wanted to prepare a valuable present. It had to be at least equal to the ten magic chariots, for Saleen. “Judging by the news Sister delivered, she values this person greatly and their relationship is very intimate.”
Ojarvis wanted to make Lex’s strength great, he really did not want to become the emperor. If his sister could ascend the throne he was willing to be an idle prince. From a tender age Ojarvis had been fraught with illnesses, he only survived due to the long-term treatment provided by the palace’s sorcerers. If Emperor Chanake did not die in battle Ojarvis might have died before him.
Other emperors might grow attached to authority, but Ojarvis craved life and health.
It was tough being an emperor, one would understand that just by looking at Safilos. Safilos was helping Ojarvis resolve almost eighty percent of affairs. Even so, Ojarvis still felt exhausted and it was not because he did not have enough intelligence, but because his body was frail.
He finally understood why he rarely saw his father. He already felt utterly exhausted managing twenty percent of the empire’s affairs. Everything would be fine if the country was in peace, but the Holy See’s holy war had erupted right after he ascended the throne. He faced more difficulties being the emperor than his father had.
Ojarvis felt that he was a pathetic character who was forced to stand in the middle of the stage while dying gradually.
“If I was given time to practice magic, I could surely become a sorcerer given the substantial resources of the imperial family. At the very least, I would have a healthy body like a normal human.”
Ojarvis dismissed Barde, then he suddenly coughed violently. In this colossal hall where Ojarvis was alone, the sounds of his coughs echoed endlessly. Sunlight descended from above, accurately landing at the corresponding spots in the hall, causing the surrounding humongous statues to appear like they had come to life. These sacred monarchs throughout the history of Qin surveilled Ojarvis. He coughed until blood was flowing out his nose as he used his yellowed fingers to cover his mouth.
To Ojarvis, coughing was a terrible affair. With a shudder, he rummaged for a bottle of magic medicine. Swallowing a portion of it slowly, he leaned against the chair and looked a little dazed.
After consuming the medicine, he took out a handkerchief and wiped the blood underneath his nose. This blood had a dim purple hue with a tinge of strange fragrance, some of it stained his fingers.
A tall and slender silhouette appeared beside Ojarvis. This black-robed mage lowered his head and looked at the emperor, then whispered, “Ojarvis, are you taking medicine again? Try not to take too much.”
The mage’s voice was insipid, void of feeling. On his long black robe, there were three magic symbols.
“Whether I take it or not, I will still die. As the emperor, I have to help myself live more comfortably.” Ojarvis’ voice was even more serene, as though he was narrating someone else’s story.
The black-robed mage looked at the emperor, he and his comrades had joined forces to save this young emperor. Magic could not go against the laws of nature though. By nature, Ojarvis’ body already had a great defect. It was almost impossible for him to live as long as a normal person.
Ojarvis tossed the handkerchief to the ground as his eyes regained some liveliness. Raising his head, he told the black-robed mage, “I heard that the Holy See has an immortality holy medicine. When every pope ascends the position they consume a serving of it. No matter the person, they can extend their life by one-hundred and twenty years as long as they consume it, is this true?”
“You are the Qin emperor, you cannot believe in the gods.” The mage’s answer seemed to have acknowledged this legend.
“Yes, indeed. If I believe in a god, the rage of my people will burn me to death first. Mofeesto, I heard that Saleen has gained one fallen Red Archbishop. Do you think he will have a way to treat my illness?” There were a few hints of anticipation in Ojarvis’ voice.
“Whatever a grade-9 holy master can achieve, we can as well. Ojarvis, I don’t wish to deceive you,” the black-robed mage answered.
Ojarvis laughed, then said, “Oh my, mages are always so boring. It would be great if I could learn magic, then we will be able to communicate normally.”
The black-robed mage called Mofeesto looked at the emperor with some sympathy, “The body of this emperor is so frail that it cannot contain magic chords or the Sword Aura.”
“Mofeesto, I am very envious of Sister, she has so much more freedom than me,” Ojarvis said with a pant.
“The viscount doesn’t have freedom either.” The mage finally responded with emotion. These few grade-9 sorcerers were very familiar with Lex. Regarding the conflict between Lex and the prince, the mages could not interfere, but it did not mean that they could not have their own opinions.
“Currently, she is a county queen, she can lead a nation and isn’t tied up by parliament, how does she not have freedom?”
The black-robed mage did not respond. He simply stood in the darkness, looking at this emperor whose life was salvaged. He was a child who originally could only live to six years old.
“Mofeesto, you may be dismissed, I am fine now.” Ojarvis could not obtain an answer. Waving his hand with much effort, he then leaned against the chair once more.

The imperial capital of Qin was engulfed in rain. Tens of thousands of miles away in the Tanggulasi Empire, Siyuan City was also experiencing a frigid downpour. The emperor of the Tanggulasi Empire was in the palace, anxiously reviewing the documents his subordinates had delivered to him.
Twenty-five-thousand regular troops had been killed in the wilderness of northern Qin and the emperor could not accept such an outcome. Nevertheless, people from the Holy See would have reviewed this information, it could not be false. In the eyes of the Tanggulasi’s emperor, all the other soldiers, with the exception of his twenty-five-thousand regular troops, were not human.
Standing beside the emperor was a holy master in a red robe. This holy master was very young, he was at least twenty years younger than the emperor.
“Vinny, can our army conquer Qin?” The emperor appeared to be about forty years old. He had a head of smooth golden hair and was healthy, but his voice sounded decadent.
“Of course, with the guidance of the god, we will be indomitable,” the red-robed holy master answered indifferently.
“Nicholas has fallen. I heard that he was a staunch believer.”
“Before the god, everything will be humbled. Nicholas didn’t manage to stave off the temptation from the monsters, Nicholas’ betrayal will only cause the god to direct his rage on the Myers mainland, burning everything.”
“Vinny, stop lying to me, Theisio killed all of Nicholas’ confidantes because of this matter. Tell me… has Theisio lost his composure in this manner before?”
“What does Your Majesty plan to do?” The red-robed holy master glanced out the window. The patrolling soldiers outside were all death warriors from the Tanggulasi imperial family, no one could get close to them.
“What can I do? If… if I can visit Sharjah, I might be able to think of something.” A tinge of hesitation appeared on the emperor’s face.
“Your Majesty, even though this matter has dealt a blow to Theisio, Sharjah wouldn’t take this chance to create trouble. The pope’s power is immeasurable, we shouldn’t trifle with him.”
“Vinny, you are useless!” The emperor flew into a rage abruptly, smacking the table with much force.
“Your Majesty, I am your son, I only speak the truth,” the red-robed holy master answered calmly.
“I cannot take it anymore, Theisio has disseminated a holy decree, asking me to establish a navy to help him invade Metatrin City! How did he manage to find out that I already own a fleet!” The emperor’s rage was not unfounded. He had built a fleet with great difficulty, yet Theisio had found out and was asking him to use that fleet to invade a faraway city.
To an ambitious Tanggulasi emperor, the Holy See was an enormous shackle that caused him to experience breathing difficulties. The fleet was a chance to destroy this shackle, but it was going to be deployed to the frontline now. Be that as it may, the emperor was not dumb. Metatrin City’s navy was definitely mightier than its army, otherwise Lianyun City and Alchemy City would not have allowed this port city to exist.
“The pope is doing this to destroy my hopes!”
“Your Majesty, Sharjah isn’t reliable. If you want to salvage the navy, I can recommend a person to you.”
“Who is it?”
“Fycro!”
“I am not meeting him!” The Tanggulasi emperor threw whatever he could find onto the ground in a moment of rage. “That scumbag, if I see him, I will not be able to stop myself from killing him!”
“Your Majesty, Fycro is the most modest man in this world, why are you angry with him?” the red-robed mage asked in bewilderment.
“Modest? I have never seen a person more arrogant than him!” The emperor’s hand was still trembling, even Theisio did not insult him directly to his face. Fycro had done such a thing more than once. Only the emperor knew about this, but he did not dare disclose it to others. “The star of the Glorious Plains, the man who is closest to God, the first oracle… He can kill me without getting permission from the pope.”
“But Your Majesty, if this fleet is sent to Metatrin City, the outcome will not be good. Even if Metatrin City doesn’t have a navy, we cannot resist Alchemy City.”
“So what do you suggest?” The emperor was not inflexible. Since he was in a fix he had to look for a breakthrough to loosen this shackle. That way he could achieve his own goals.
“Your Majesty, let’s launch a second campaign in the name of the imperial family. That way, the pope will not have a reason to command you. He will instead have to cooperate with you.”
“If we organize a second expeditionary army, it will be winter by the time the army gets there!”
“Isn’t that better? Since it will be winter, there will be a reason to guard the moat. Let the army build a city there. According to the law, whenever the empire builds a city, the Holy See will have to establish a church of corresponding size. If Your Majesty deploys a few hundred thousand slaves, Theisio will have to send a sufficient number of pastors too.”
“I get it now!” The emperor clapped his hands as he laughed boisterously, “My son is indeed cunning.”
