Chapter 6: Entering the first world

After that little incident with the D ranker, the other participants started walking toward the giant blue portal in the middle of this establishment, the first one to enter, was the green-haired girl, Emily, she seemed quite excited by the idea, of being teleported to the first world.

One by one, the participants made their way inside, the shivering orange-haired guy was one of them, as well as the D ranker that had slightly angered agent Walker, and of course, the last one left was Crow.

This though was done intentionally by him, whenever he saw the last person enter the blue portal, he looked at Walker, and said, "You seem to be familiar with this!", Crow said as he touched the black sword strapped to his belt, the death sword.

Walker looked at Crow, his eyes deepened, of course, Crow couldn't see that, since agent Walker was wearing sunglasses at the moment, but he still noticed Walker's smile get slightly larger.

"That's a very dangerous weapon you're holding there, where did you get it? what is your name?", asked Walker, as he looked at the death sword yet again. Crow looked at him, his expression turned cold, as he asked, "How do you know about it? this is just a C rank sword, why do you say it's very dangerous!".

Crow was right, after all, the death sword's aura had already changed to C rank, to be at the same level in power as Crow, but Walker had called, what for him, would be a normal C rank weapon, "A very dangerous weapon!".

Walker smiled yet again, and looked at the death sword, before he turned to look at Crow, he said, "Hmm! answer my question, and I will answer yours!". The pilot Joe, who was a B ranker, looked at the two silently, his expression was one of indifference.

Crow didn't really want to answer first, but he couldn't waste any more time and needed to enter the first world, or they might start the first test without him, so, he said, "My father left it to me!".

Walker made a face like he just understood something, as he asked again, "You're Crow Rovern right? and your father doesn't happen to be named Zanfuel, does he?". Crow was a bit shocked to hear that, he knew this person shouldn't know his name, especially his father's name, but what he said was right.

Crow didn't know how to react, after all, this was an A ranker, not just that, an agent that worked with the Reader's Challenges, and Crow didn't want to be banned from participating in the game.

So, he asked, "How do you know? did you know my father? who are you?", Walker smiled, and said, "The robot won't wait for you, you should probably hurry up now, okay, don't give me those angry eyes, I knew your father, and as such, I am familiar with that SS ranked sword your holding!".

'He...he knows about the sword of death, this guy, could he maybe know some kind of clue about dad's last mission?', Crow didn't care anymore, he released his C ranker aura, and asked in a cold voice, "Explain more, and now!".

Walker looked at him, then chuckled a bit, "You're really his son han? I mean, are you threatening me? did you lose common sense or something? and don't even try to bullshit me with, "I have an SS-ranked sword!" okay? I know how the sword of death works!".

Crow's expression reflected shock, he couldn't hide his amazement at what this agent had just said, for him to know how the sword of death changed to reflect the user's power level, that would mean that he was close to his father.

Still, from the looks of it, this Walker guy wasn't going to speak, and so, Crow started walking toward the giant blue portal in the middle of the establishment, as he said, "You better explain next time!".

But, that only served to make agent Walker, go from chuckling a little, to full-on laughter, Crow, tsked at him and entered the blue portal. Joe, the pilot B ranker, finally spoke, as he addressed Walker, who was still laughing, "He's really arrogant han?".

"Yeah, he is Zanfuel's son for sure! hah! who knew I would meet him here!", Walker's expression changed a little after he said that, he became more serious, as he thought about something, only he knew about.

"Though, he's the strongest participant out of today's batch! isn't he?", said Joe, then continued, "We're not gonna let him use that sword right? that's like cheating?", "Of course we are, it's not cheating, all kinds of weapons are allowed, no matter what they are!", responded Walker.

A bright light struck Crow's pupils, he couldn't see anything aside from it, for around a few seconds. His vision finally returned to him after that, he found himself inside a large establishment, the horizon was about a kilometer and a half in front of him.

There were many rundown shacks here, there were two rows of them, one on the right, the other on the left, they stretched out for about 700 or so meters, and there were about 60 or so of them.

The distance between a shack from the right, and one from the left, was about 200 meters. aside from that, the seeling wasn't even visible for Crow, when he looked up, that would put in terms how high it reached, this was by no doubt, the largest establishment, Crow had ever entered in his entire life.

As for the other participants, they were all just around him, he didn't count them one by one, but there seemed to be around 30 or 40, just like Walker had said, one of the participants was a little bizarre though.

He was a prisoner, still wearing his orange prison attire, he was cuffed, and behind him, stood two D rankers, they didn't seem to be participants, but prison guards. This guy was also the strongest one Crow laid eyes on here, still, he was only a D ranker.

'Hah! am I the only C-ranker here? if that's so, isn't this kind of cheating? since no one can touch me here, that is true even if I was just a normal or even weak C ranker, but I am more than that! hah! I guess the first test will be a breeze to pass through!'.

Crow's gaze finally landed on a small robot that was flying in the air, this robot was square in body, with two little slim hands, and feet stretching out of his square body, his head was a smaller square placed on top of the bigger square that represented his body, he also had a face, that was electronic, and allowed him to change expressions.

His aura was a strong one, it belonged to a B ranker, this was to be the supervisor of their first test according to Walker, 'Hah! who knew I would meet someone like him! why did dad never mention him before? well, that's an easy one to answer, that's because dad never mentioned anything, to begin with!'.

'He never told me much of anything about his work, he never told me the story of how he made the death sword, even though I asked him multiple times before! he didn't speak about the Night Walker's ability, and neither did he show me what it did! hah! I still don't understand him, why didn't he take the sword of death with him on that last mission, and what happened to him?'.

'They say he was killed by either a monster or another humanoid person! dammit! well, at the very least, now I have a lead to follow, with that Walker guy!'.

It was at this point, that the robot finished whatever conversation he was having with who knows who, he looked at the 42 participants present here, and his expression seemed to worsen.

"Hmm! hello there, I was just wondering, what is this? why are you all useless trash? weak animals? and I am supposed to make an entertaining show out of you to the watchers? do you know how much they are paying? and their reward is to watch you...wait! there may still be hope here!", said the Robot, as his expression seemed to brighten up a little.

He looked at the prisoner, as he said, "You're a little strong!", then he turned to look at Crow, "Oho! you're strong! you're the only C ranker of this batch right? your name was Crow Rovern right?".

'If he knew my name, he should have known I am here, why did have to go through the trouble of making all this act, just to introduce myself? hah! I guess the viewers are already watching, han?'.

The Robot then went on to say, "Everyone, be scared! this guy can beat you all up at the same time, don't believe me, try him now?", not even one of the other 41 participants moved, but all their gazes came to rest on Crow at this moment.

At this point, a burst of laughter was heard echoing through, it had come from the prisoner, he was looking at Crow, as he said, "Hahaha! don't worry, I won't come near you, I hope you can do the same with me!".

Crow only glanced at him for a moment, before he turned to look elsewhere, 'Hah! or what? if I feel like it, I will come to you, whatever!', Crow could have said that out loud, but he wanted to move on, and see what the Robot was going to be telling them.
